Chapter : 3 : Passive Ability - Accelerated Healing :
Location : Kingdom Of Valerion : Veridia City ( Captial City ) :
Located at the heart of the kingdom of Valerion was the magestic capital city of the kingdom - Veridia City .
Situated over a hilly area and surrounded by towering walls that were guarded by hundreds and thousands of soldiers and magic cannons - the Veridia City gave an aura of security to everyone who lived within it's walls .
And for those who looked at the city from far they felt a sense of power that can stand the shake of the earth and the anger of the skies while standing like a defiant warrior.
Inside the city the atmosphere was even more vibrant like a bouquet of different flowers .
People from various places and professions could be seen walking around in the beautiful white streets of the city while peacefully walking to each other and going around the marketplace .
Among them in the crowd a figure wearing a plain black dress with a black hoodie covering his face made his way to a dark alley way .
After entering the dark alley way he did not stop and continued forward , passing through various people who only glanced at him once before going back to their businesses .
If you are wondering who this man is - then let me introduced him to you all .
This was non other than Cian V Keolos the main character of the story himself .
But the main question is - what was he doing here ?
Doesn't his Academy classes starts today ? So what he doing here ?
Wait a minute.... is he seriously bunking his class at the first day of the Academy .
Well the answer is not quite simple .
While the Academy does start today it is different from regular classes .
Today will be just an introduction session performed in the Academy .
At first that all of the students will have to go to the assembly hall where the principal and the rest of the teachers will be present to give them a speech about .... you know .... motivation .
And then only one class will be conducted where the teacher will come and tell them about various rules , regulations and other important matters .
After this the class will be dismissed and regular classes will only start from the next day .
Moreover there was still 2 hours away and before that Cian was free to do anything he wants to .
Obviously at first he had to get out of the Academy dormitory .
The Academy dormitory rules were very strict as it only allowed the students to get out of the dormitory with a strict time schedule .
Moreover you cannot leave during the classes and every time you go out and come inside you will have to show your student id to the guard who will check it for you .
And if you want to stay overnight somewhere else then it would take a permission notice from your class teacher or the principal .
All of this was because the students being taught in the Academy were are not normal teenagers .
They were the future pillars of the kingdom's strength with some of them belonging to higher noble classes .
And if anything happened to them it could cause immense damage to the academy's reputation and question would be asked over there security .
And this was not just a theoretical situation .
In past there had been many such incidences done by arrival kingdoms who didn't want to see their kingdom rise .
But more importantly the prodigious students of the Academy would be targeted mostly by the Abyssal Kin's followers who always wants to cause trouble within the kingdom .
At one point in past it had became a quite a big problem for the kingdom before they increased their security levels and implemented stricter rules .
However that does not mean that students are not allowed to leave the Academy campus .
As long as you follow the rules you are free to go and come back within time .
And Cian came out of the Academy by saying that he was going for a shopping trip before the accademy starts .
And this was essentially true .
But he was not here to actually do a normal shopping trip .
He was here for something else entirely .
While going through the dark alley way Cian kept his eyes open as if searching for something .
' From what I remember , there should be a small magical item shop nearby . "
In the original story line the hero we'll be going through this area after the first day at Academy ends when he will find a small magical item shop .
Inside that shop he would find a lot of second hand items and among them would be a second hand storage ring that was being sold at a cheap price .
And when it means cheap we are talking about 50% off than usual market value .
It was because the shop owner was planning to leave the capital city and go back to his village so he was in a hurry to self everything quickly .
However there was a twist .
The ring was actually broken and it can no longer be used to store items .
In the original story Zeal Cloudseaker the hero did not know about it and brought the ring and was scolded by his sister for it .
And right now Cian was also going to find the same storage ring .
Wait why would he buy a broken storage ring ? Has he lost his mind ?
Well the truth is that when it was told that's the ring was broken it's did not mean that the ring was actually broken into multiple pieces .
Infact the only thing that was broken was actually the function which allowed the ring to store items in it .
And at the same time rest of the items that were already inside the storage ring could also not be brought outside due to it's broken status .
So in normal term it would be considered total useless .
However if you can repair the way or somehow bring out the items inside all of it will belong to you .
And that exactly what Cian wants to do .
Because from the original story Cian remembered that the ring belong to an old magician who had left behind a very good treasure inside that ring .
Although it was not something extraordinary and divine powered it was still a good power booster at the early stages of the novel when the hero was just beginning his journey .
" If I can get that ring for myself it should be considered at least a tier - 2 change .
" And that means I can get an ' Excellent ' reward . "
And there was more .
In the original story Zeal Cloudseaker was able to eventually repair the storage and access the items inside .
And Cian who knew the process could also use the same method .
And once he completed that he will not only get the reward for changing the plot but also the gift within the ring .
It's like hitting two targets in a single throw.
So with such a opportunity in front of him there was no way Cian was letting it go .
Time Skip : 20 Minutes Later :
After some finding around Cian finally came in front of a small store .
The store was old and not quite well maintained .
" Crack ! "
When he opened the door a very bad smell like rotten egg slammed into him like a tidal force .
' Blast it all ! This place is freakin dirty !!!! '
Looking around he could see that huge clusters of dust had formed around in the corners of the room with spider webs and other insects making their small independent kingdoms .
There was a desk counter in front of the room with an old man sitting there who looked like he would scold you for even making a slightest bit of sound .
Beside the desk was also a showcase showing various items that the shop sold .
Although it was by now mostly empty with at most two or three things in collection .
And among those things Cian quickly found what he was looking for .
It was a violet coloured storage ring that looked ordinary from outside but had a small hint of shine in it .
' So this is it ! '
However despite seeing what he wanted in front of him Cian did not move to directly purchase it .
After all if he was to go and eagerly ask for that ring particularly which did not look any thing special it would will create unnecessary questions .
And showing too much interest would only make the old man in front of him to try and increase the price as much as he can .
This was a common practice and Cian had no intentions of falling for it .
While he was indeed the son of a noble man he was not very wealthy .
As said before his family was in fact at the bottom of the noble hierarchy and just sending him to the capital for his studies and other expenses were consuming a huge amount of their family wealth .
So he could not just go around and spend money like those rich noble young masters shown in various novels .
' Maybe in the future I can get some cash reward from the system .'
" Young man are you here just to look around or are you going to buy something . "- the old man said with clear irritation in his voice .
This boy in front of him was just going around and looking at the limited number of things he had but was not buying anything .
' Does he think my place is his resting ground . '
" Well forgive me ! it's just that the dust in your store is so much that it is obstructing my view to clearly see your merchandise . " - Cian replied back.
Cian was not just going to take the attitude of the other side like the hero did in the original series .
Especially not when every second in this room was like a torture to his nose .
" Well ! you certainly have quite the foul mouth don't you young man. "
" Is that so ? I am afraid that's nothing compared to the smell in this room dear sir . "
After some more rounds of continued back and forth finally Cian decided to end the event and quickly buy the storage ring .
So after some haggling Cian finally parted ways with that shop giving his nose the freedom it wanted.
Just as he got out of the store quickly this system activated itself again .
" Ding ! System Notification : Host you have successfully performed a tier 2 change and as such a rewarded with an random ' Excellent Category Reward ' .
Ding ! Congratulation : Host you have received a passive ability - Accelerated Healing .
This passive ability accelerates the natural healing of the body by 20 times faster than a normal human .
For Example : Deep injuries that would take stitches and weeks of rest would be healed within 30 to 60 minutes .
Note : How much it can heal depends on the injury and the state of the body .
" "
Looking at the reward in front of him , Cian suddenly felt all that bad smell inside of that small shop was totally worth it .
" Accelerated healing coupled with the previous passive ability , I have two passive abilities . "
" Both of them together are strong enough to heal and conserve my magic power in a long fight. "
This was a great advantage .
Although he hoped that this time he would get something else like a special item or martial art technique , this was also very good .
" Well shopping for today is over . "
" And the classes are about to start so let's hurry back ."
With his task completed and after receiving a hearty reward Cian happily walked out of the alley way , going straight towards the Academy .
