Chapter : 4 : Apex Trial :
Location : Kingdom of Valerion : Valerian Accademy :
" Ding !! Dong !!!! Ding !!!!!!!! "
As the sound of the morning bell coming from the top of the principal's Tower came the Academy grounds became lively with students .
As one after another students started to come in groups of individually with all of them could be seen wearing their Academy uniforms .
After all today was their first day at the Academy so no one wanted to be late .
Among the crowd standing at the corner of the group beside a pillar was Cian V Keolos looking at the crowd with deep intensity .
Afterall today was the day when a number of main characters from the original story would gather .
And considering the luck of someone like him , it was a certainty that he was going to be in the same class as the rest of the main characters .
And right now was the looking for 4 main characters today .
And courtesy of being the main characters it did not take him long to find all of them .
The first one he saw to was a young man with red hair and brown eyes who was standing with a girl by his side who also had the same hair colour but with grey eyes .
When looked closely one can easily determine that both the boy and the girl are twins .
Right now both of them were standing at the edge of the crowd where most of the commoners had gathered together to stand separately from the students of noble background .
So it was quite obvious that both of them were commoners and to most they seemed ordinary.
However Cian who knew the story before had recognised them in one glance.
" They really look just like the one's from the novel . No !!! I say they look even better . "
" Future Hero - Zeal Cloudseaker and his twin sister Jenny Cloudseaker . "
Yes ! the boy with red hair was non other than original hero of the story Zeal Cloudseaker .
And the girl was Jenny Cloudseaker the twin younger sister of the hero .
Both of them are prominent characters in the original story .
The hero was the hero so the story so there is no explanation required .
And as for his younger sister although she was not an accomplished fighter like her elder brother she had her own role in the story.
Her talent in Alchemy was a major factor for the rise of his brother as a hero in the future .
She would be considered once in a generation genius when it comes to Alchemy and would later in the story become the deputy chief of the Alchemist division of the kingdom .
And when the hero and his party will lead the fight in the Abyssal continent she will also go there as the head of an expeditionary Alchemist division .
At that time due to certain circumstances her camp was attacked by a strong abyssal kin and in order to let her subordinates escape she decided to stay and fight that monster by herself .
Although at the end of the day she was saved and the abyssal kin was defeated but her injuries were so severe that he fell in a coma .
According to what the plot was going on in the original series before Cian transmigrated here the hero and the others were supposed to find some kind of flower to help her .
This was supposed to be done in a small relatively unexplored Island that is far away from the influence of both the major continents .
However now that Cian had lost his access to the novel he was not quite sure as to what happened next .
But all in all she was important in future of the series .
However she was also important for the current situation as well .
" Well ! If we are talking about miss Jenny then two more people are needed to be talked about . "
With that he directly looked at the front area where most of the noble students were waiting .
And among those countless nobles there was a boy with black hair and deep purple eyes who was the centre of attention .
If there was a voting on who would be the most handsome man within their class then this boy would by no opposition come at the top position .
And this was also the same if you do the voting in terms of popularly .
And it was to the point where almost all the students who were by his side were trying to gain his friendship .
And this was when all those students were also childrens belonging from powerful noble families within the kingdom .
And from their smile and flattering attitude it was quite easy to see that the boy was more than just a good looking ' Prince Charming .
" Aurelian Von Valerion the second prince of the kingdom of Valerion. "
Yes ! the second prince of the kingdom himself was in this same group of students as the hero of the story .
Nothing surprising here !
And now comes the interesting point .
On a distance it can be seen that there was a group of noble girls standing together .
At the centre of the group there was a girl with blonde hair and sharp navy blue eyes looking at the second prince with intensity .
" Elera Ros Thalric , the eldest daughter of the Duke of the east - Leapold Ros Thalric . " - Cian said while observing her facial expression .
But more than that in the original story line she is the...
" Fiancee of the second prince and the first major villainess of the story . "
In the original story what happened was that both Aurelian Von Valerion and Elera Ros Thalric were engaged .
However it seemed that the second prince had little to no interest in this engagement .
And when during the first days of the Academy both he and Jenny Cloudseaker fell in love with each other .
This caused a direct conflict with Elera Ros Thalric who really loved the second prince .
This then eventually and obviously brought the big brother of Jenny Cloudseaker into this complex situation as well .
Eventually things went out of control when the second prince asked Elera to cancel their engagement right infront of the entire class and proposed his love to Jemmy .
This led Elera Ros Thalric to challenge Jenny Cloudseaker in a Apex Trial .
" An Apex Trial is a form of exam or battle ( whatever would you call it ) that is used by the students in the Academy to settle disputes . "
The Apex trial is divided into three types and anyone can select which one they want to do .
These four types are :
( 1 ) Champion's Duel : It's a one versus one combat between the selected champions and the winner is decided when the opponent is pinned down , disarmed or cannot fight anymore.
This kind of fight allows the combatants to use both magic , physical strength or anything else as long as it is not prohibited by the Academy or the kingdom .
However the referee who is a teacher from the Accademy can decide to interfere in the match if he or she believes that the battle has a chance of causing major damage to any of the combatants .
( 2 ) Scholars Test : In this form of trial you don't need to fight or anything as it's is more like of a hard exam where your knowledge is tested.
However due to its unique nature and since not many would like to test there knowledge on various subjects mostly only Alchemist and scholars participate in this trial .
( 3 ) The Honour Battle : The third and the last trial is a test of leadership , strategy , individual combat and group combat .
Here the both main challenges will recruit other students to join their group and on a particular date and on a battlefield provided by the Academy both sides would come with their group and have a all out battle .
The conditions and the objective of the battle will be decided before hand and it is considered the most powerful form of the apex trial .
Another thing to notice is that while the students are free to call for any of this trial or all of the trials they must do so it under the supervision of their teachers or the principal .
Especially if you want to do the last honour battle are call for all the three at once then you will need the permission of the principle or else you cannot do it .
Like in the case of the second prince and the daughter of duke all three trials were conducted and it was done under the supervision and permission of the principal of the academy .
The Academy follows this kind of rule to put the warrior spirit and tactical awareness among their student as they would be the future pillars protecting the kingdom against enemies like the abyssal kins .
However that does not mean they would allow any major harm to be done to any of their students no matter if they are a commoner or a noble .
That's such trials are limited and there are rules set by the Academy on each step .
" Sigh ! However when the hero is on your opposite side no matter how much efforts you give it's almost impossible to win. "
In the story after the challenge was accepted and the trial begin both the second prince and Elera Ros Thalric went to find there allies .
However due to the second prince belonging to the royal family more people opted to join his side than Elera Ros Thalric on the honour battle .
And it was also the same for the champions duel and scholars test .
Even so the battle was not one sided and what truly decided the fate of the battles was perhaps the presence of the main hero within the group which provided them with the protection of the plot armour .
And at the end she lost and had to agree to cancel the engagement .
After this her life went worse and she would fall in a state of anger and hatred .
This result in her becoming a permanent enemy of the Hero group .
And at the end her fate would be to be ultimately and permanently defeated by Jenny Cloudseaker when she tried to target the second Prince once again .
However now that Cian was also in the picture in the future phewood also have to decide what to do .
" Because according to what I remember the incident shouldn't be anything more than 4 months away . "
And just then a sudden system notification interrupted his thinking.
" Ding ! System Notification : In 4 months Elera Ros Thalric will start the apex trial and in the original story it was the hero and the second prince who had won .
This event is of great importance as it is the one of first great trials of the hero in the academy and is also the battle where the first villainess of the story is defeated .
As such it play's a foundational part in the early story .
If the host can change the situation then it will be considered a tier 3 change and he will be given a ' rare ' reward .
Also even if the host is unable to change the main event if he is able to change the other minor events within the trial than it will be also considered seperate tier 1 or 2 changes according to their importance .
Note : This is not a compulsory mission by the system and as such even if the host does not do anything there will be no penalty however he will also not be eligible for any rewards for this event .
" "
After reading the text in front of him Cian held a small helpless grin on his face .
" System you are telling me that it is not compulsory but putting such a reward good harvesting opportunity in front of me ."
Let alone the ' rare ' reward for changing the outcome of the trial if he can get rewards for those tier 1 or 2 changes it will worth all the trouble.
However if he choosers to go on her side it will put him against the hero and the second prince.
" But the opportunity is too good . "
" And I am already taking rewards that were supposed to go to the hero party so what's there to be afraid about . "
With that he had already made his decision in his mind .
" Alright let's see what the future brings . "
