Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: House hunting

The very next day, Nayeon dashed into Amazing water and was greeted by Vivian Sung, the receptionist.

"Oh, hey, Nayeon." She waved. "Everybody was wondering where you went, so they thought you quit unknowingly. Thank God you're back, though."

"Really!? Have they replaced me?" Nayeon asked anxiously.

"Nope, but Mr Dohyun is in fury that you left for like two days with no word."

"Oh, dear!"

Nayeon dashed into the elevator and checked her phone. If Dohyun was angry, he surely would have been calling her. Nayeon looked horrified as she saw forty-five miss calls from Dohyun himself (Her phone had been on silent the entire time). Though they were friends, Dohyun is still above her and could easily fire her on the spot.

As soon as the elevator made way, she jerked as she came face to face with Dohyun. He looked angry to see her but remained silent. Then he grabbed her hand tightly and brought her into his office.

"Have a seat!" He said aggressively.

Nayeon felt her heart ache when she yelled at her. She reluctantly took a seat and they sat in Silence for a while.

Dohyun shoved a pile of documents infront of her and gestured for her to check them out. When Nayeon opened them, she saw a bunch of low indications of graphs, and they were all related to the company.

Dohyun looked up at her with rage on his face.

"Your role in the company is crucial unlike the other employees. When you were gone, you should have at least told me or the receptionist. We lost millions of won because of the unattended orders. I didn't know you were irresponsible like this, Nayeon." Dohyun said to her.

"I'm very sorry. I-i just had urgent matters to attend to." Nayeon said in an upsetting tone.

"This business requires urgent attention every second. My father is so angry at me and it's all because of you!"

Nayeon squeezed her skirt tightly. She was very downcast that Dohyun was talking to her in this sort of manner.

"I apologise once again." She said while looking sideways.

Savannah suddenly came in with Dohyun's coffee with a smile on her face. Nayeon caught her eye and when Savannah also gave her a smile, she became most exasperated.

Savannah placed the coffee on his table and Dohyun's anger subsided, and he became his usual self almost in an instantaneous moment.

"Ah, thank you, Savannah." He sipped the coffee after saying that.

"You're absolutely welcome, Dohyun." Savannah smiled brightly.

"Mmh, you know just how to get my coffee right." Dohyun said to her.

"Oh, stop it Dohyun. I'm just doing my role. And it's now wonder that I can preform it so well." She said.

Nayeon felt like that say was pinpointed at her directly.

"No really, it's like you were made to be my secretary, Savannah." He said.

Savannah laughed, and Dohyun told Nayeon to leave, and she did.

Since that day, Dohyun and Nayeon grew distant, which hurt her deeply. He and Savannah were always together and looked like a couple sometimes. Nayeon just put her head down and continued working.

Soon enough, they were able to get Ariyana into school. Haerin believed that she needed to be around her peers.

One summer in July, Nayeon was busy house hunting online with her phone. She came across a house with two bedrooms. But she was looking for three, so that Ariyana could have her own bedroom.

She came across a beautiful cozy looking house with three bedrooms and decided to phone the house agent to check it out.

Nayeon and Minju went to survey the house and met the house agent there.

"Good morning. We're here to check out the house." Nayeon said.

"Good morning. Please come with me." He said.

They followed him into the house and it was very neat and truly had three bedrooms just as it stated online. The environment was a ten out of ten, it was a twenty minute walk from her office, and there was a playground in the neighbourhood aswell. Nayeon thought of Ariyana when she saw the playground.

After the house agent showed them around, Nayeon and Minju agreed that this house was the right choice for them. Nayeon decided to purchase it.

On their way to pick Ariyana from school, (It was Ariyana's first day) Minju spoke to Nayeon.

"Thank you for helping us adjust, Nayeon." She said as they treked.

"Why are you thanking me? You're my sister and Ariyana is my niece." Nayeon said.

"That's right." Minju smiled.

They picked Ariyana from school, and she was so glad to tell them about her first day and how she made so many friends. Minju was pleased that Ariyana had enjoyed her first day at school and didn't have a hard time.
