Nayeon went to work the following morning and met Heeseung in the building.
"Hey, Heeseung." Nayeon said.
"Hu, how are you?" He asked.
"Good. Everywhere looks quite different."
"Ah, that's because it's Amazing water's 80th anniversary. So they are decorating the hall as we speak and we'll all be around to celebrate tomorrow evening."
"So there is no work in the morning?"
"There is, but you just bring a clothes that you can where to the anniversary celebration for that evening. You'll know when it's time."
"Ah, okay. Let me start working right now."
Nayeon and Heeseung departed and got back to work. Nayeon was on her way to her designated office space until she suddenly encountered Vivian crying in a corner. Nayeon being quite concerned, asked Vivian why she was upset.
Vivian looked up at Nayeon with teary eyes and hugged her as she started explaining what happened.
"Oh, Nayeon! My aunt is going to loose her shop. Vivian sobbed. She has been owning rent for the past two years!"
"That's awful. I'm very sorry to hear that, Vivian." Nayeon patted her back.
"I can't afford for her to loose her shop, not after everything she's done for me when I was still young!"
"What do you mean?"
"Nayeon, this is something I haven't really told anyone before... but one day, i may tell you. My aunt has helped me with so much, I can't let her loose her shop. After all, it is my fault she couldn't pay the shop rent."
Nayeon wasn't understanding much of what Vivian was saying, since she didn't give her a proper explanation. But she thought to herself, "Shall I take up the responsibility of helping her pay her aunts shop rent? Doesn't she have a salary? I don't understand."
"What about your salary?" Nayeon asked Vivian.
Vivian wiped her eyes.
"My salary isn't enough to pay a rent owing for two whole years! I would if I could, but it is what it is." Vivian said.
Nayeon consoled her and told her not to worry. She assured Vivian that she would try to help her out in a way. Vivian was most grateful after hearing Nayeon say so.
Nayeon was walking and Dohyun was coming her way. She remembered the resentment she felt for him after seeing him and Savannah together all the time. She passed him like he was nothing, but Dohyun called out to her.
"Nayeon, hey, how are you?" He asked in a friendly manner.
Nayeon frowned her face and stared at him as she thought, "Why is he being so friendly all of the sudden? Did Savannah leave or what?" Nayeon ignored him and was about to leave, but Dohyun grabbed her hand. Nayeon was taken aback.
"Let's go of my hand, Dohyun." Nayeon ordered.
"Well, Nayeon. Let me remind you that I am still the boss around here. No should be ordering me around." Dohyun spoke.
Nayeon tsked.
"Where is Savannah? Why isn't she with you?" She asked.
"Savannah? She's not around cause she is sick. But she will come for the anniversary celebration tomorrow evening." Dohyun said.
"No wonder. Now that she's not here, you felt lonely so you turned back to me. Didn't you, Dohyun?" Nayeon asked him in an unfriendly tone.
"I-it's not like that..."
"It is like that very much, Dohyun. Maybe our friendship was rushed. Why did I even consider you as a friend? Or used my time to hang out with you on Saturdays?"
"I only hang around Savannah because she's foreign and I want to know more about where she comes from and their culture."
"Liar! Let's just be colleagues, nothing else."
Nayeon coldly walked away from Dohyun as he stood there looking quite disappointed.
Nayeon didn't really mind, as he was the one who caused her to end their friendship.
"Everything he said to me was a lie then. It was all too soon. Did he really say that I'm a very special friend to him? He probably just wanted to make me feel cared for." Nayeon stopped thinking about all that before her thoughts could drown her. She got back to work and focused.
Later that day, while it was break, Nayeon was walking down the passageway and encountered Leah there. She saw it as an opportunity to ask her about paying for Ariyana's surgery and why she did so. "Leah is probably here to see Dohyun. But I'll have a word with her before she does." Nayeon said to herself.
"Leah, I have to ask you about something." Nayeon approached her.
"Ugh, what could you possibly want, now?" Leah's bratty face was just enought to piss Nayeon off.
"So, uhh... i-i wanted to ask about the time I was away for some family stuff cause my niece was sick-"
"Yeah, yeah, just get to the point."
"S-so, why did you pay for my niece's surgery and how did you find out about it?"
Leah was actually surprised but suddenly broke out into a hysterical laughter.
"Oh, why would I pay for your niece's surgery? Whoever you saw, surely wasn't me." Leah said as she continued laughing.
"But the nurse said the person's name was Leah Kim. That ought to be you, right?" Nayeon stated.
"Just because their name is Leah Kim, it doesn't necessarily mean that its me. I have stalkers and fans, it's no wonder that people try to impersonate me, right?"
"You still yap like an egotistical person as you speak. It truly is, infuriating."
"Egotistical? At least I actually have the money to take care of myself!"
"Are you calling me poor?"
"You're a piece of filth, Nayeon. Don't forget that. Just because Dohyun shows you a speck of kindness does not mean that you can start acting bigger than yourself."
Leah left in a hurry into Dohyun's office. Nayeon was feeling her temper rising.
"Speck of kindness? I guess I was too blind to see that." Nayeon calmed herself down, and thought. "Why is she denying it? I swear the nurse said Leah Kim and there hasn't reall been anyone that is currently impersonating her at the moment. Think, Nayeon, think!" Nayeon forced herself to think and then she suddenly had an idea. "Oh, what if someone that Leah knows was the one that got her to pay for the surgery?"
Nayeon rushed to Heeseung immediately.
Heeseung looked pleased to see her.
"Hey, Nayeon. How's it going?" He asked in a friendly tone.
"I'm not exactly fine." She replied.
"Oh? Why's that?"
"Heeseung, it would mean the world to me if you would help me do something."
"What is that?"
"Can you find out information on Leah Kim?"
"Mr Dohyun's fiancée? I know you guys are close, but to stalk his fiancée?"
"We aren't close. Please just help me with this one request, Heeseung."
Heeseung sighed.
"Alright, i will." He said.
"Thank you, thank you! Please find out all background information about her, Leah Kim." Nayeon hugged Heeseung and sprinted away. Heeseung was left with a hearty feeling.
