Finally, the judge was about to finish the trial.
During the trial, Vivian didn't deny any allegations that were made against her. Someone even brought up her murder case, which elevated her case even more.
Nayeon looked across the room and saw Dohyun sitting next to Leah. For some odd reason, her heart always ached whenever she saw him with Leah or Savannah. Nayeon then saw Savannah in the room aswell. She suddenly remembered when Savannah was telling her something, but the poisoning scene interrupted her abruptly.
The judge got everyone's attention to deliver the verdict.
"Vivian Sung is accused of poisoning Mrs Lee, which is therefore attempted murder. And there was a case brought up about her killing someone a few years ago. Vivian Sung didn't deny any of these. She is therefore guilty." She spoke with power in her voice.
The whole room fell silent and everyone eagerly waited for Vivian's sentence.
"Vivian Sung... is sentenced to fifteen years in prison." She spoke and the whole room fell quite.
Nayeon looked at Vivian's expression. Vivian's expression looked defeated, she had nothing to say. Nayeon felt bad for Vivian, but it was still her fault. Nayeon went ahead to look over Dohyun and his parents. They all looked pleased, except for Dohyun. "Why does he look so upset?" Nayeon thought to herself. "Isn't he happy that the person who poisoned his mother is getting a long sentence?"
After the verdict was given, everyone was leaving shortly after the other. Nayeon went over to speak to Dohyun who was talking with his father. She waited patiently at the side. His father seemed to be scolding him harshly.
"You should be careful of the people you hire. That receptionist almost killed your mother!" Mr Lee scolded.
"I'm very sorry, father. I'll be much more careful from now on when hiring people for the company." Dohyun apologised.
"I know you will." His father left with saying that.
Nayeon swiftly approached him. Dohyun looked most pleased to see her.
"Nayeon, how are you?" Dohyun asked.
"I am well. You must be tired from all that has happened for these past few days." Nayeon said.
"Tell me about it. I am exhausted."
"How do you plan to relax?"
"Well, i can't. Leah won't even let me rest."
"How unfortunate. Well, see you at work."
Dohyun was going to say something to Nayeon, but he hesitated as usual and went in the opposite direction.
Nayeon arrived home feeling mentally and physically drained. The first thing she saw was Ariyana sleeping peacefully on the couch, and then her sister who was sitting on the dining table. Nayeon put her things away and sat next to her sister.
"How was the case?" Minju asked.
"Oh, it was alright. Vivian was sentenced to fifteen years in prison." Nayeon said tiredly.
"Really? Fifteen years!"
"Yes, they also brought up a murder case from some years back. It involved her."
"That girl must be very troublesome. Tell me, did you testify against her?"
"Yes, i had no reason not to."
"Smart, Nayeon. You must be super tired. Go and get some rest."
"I will."
Nayeon went upstairs to freshen up.
