GAME DAY = CONFESSION DAY
Su-hee wore shorts and her reading glasses, staring at herself in the mirror.
"I look cute!" she beamed, kicking one foot up.
Sun-ae frowned, staring at her.
"Oh lord… Yeon-min, can you take a day off from your books and help me with her?" Sun-ae asked.
Yeon-min continued to read, grabbing a few pumpkin seeds to munch.
"No…"
"Argh… let's get the bet over with…" Sun-ae groaned.
Yeon-min finished the chapter, placing a bookmark inside. She looked up at them.
"Do I really have to go?" she wondered.
"Yes… Ogre asked," Su-hee responded nonchalantly, rolling her eyes when she remembered Jae-hae asked.
Sun-ae smiled so widely her cheeks lifted, and her eyes disappeared.
"Let's go!" she yelled, grabbing Su-hee's and Yeon-min's arms. Then she pulled them out of the apartment, heading to the university's basketball court.
As they reached the building, many students gathered through to the seats. Jae-hae refused to give some girls the seats that he was saving… for Su-hee. Once Su-hee spotted him, she waved as high as possible.
"Jae-hae!" she yelled kindly for once.
Jae-hae's brows furrowed, poking his ear in confusion.
"Jae-hae? Why does she sound like the orc?" he questioned.
"Aish! Ogre!" Su-hee yelled once again.
Jae-hae poked his head up and looked around. He saw her and smiled, waving.
"You made it… about time," Jae-hae replied. Su-hee glared at him, slapping his arm as she sat down. He laughed. "Hey!"
"Thanks…" she muttered.
Sun-ae and Yeon-min walked by and sat beside her. Sun-ae looked at Jae-hae as he blushed, stealing glances at Yeon-min.
"Fighting, Jae-hae!" Sun-ae cheered.
Jae-hae snapped and looked at her. He gently nodded.
"Thanks!" he replied. Then he walked out of the seats and headed to the locker room to change.
Su-hee crossed her arms, shaking her head. She leaned toward Sun-ae.
"He definitely ignored me when I called his name…"
Sun-ae laughed hysterically, slapping her knee.
"Definitely… because you only call him an ogre," she replied.
Su-hee shoved her away by the shoulder.
"Whatever… he is an ogre…" Su-hee mumbled.
Just then, the whistle blew. Everyone, mostly females, stood from their seats, anticipating the basketball players' run onto the court. Su-hee leaned back on the bleachers, waiting for the game to finish.
Once the players ran onto the basketball court, the girls squealed as loud as they could, calling out their hotties' names.
"Oh my gosh! It's Jun-tae! He's so hot!" a girl stated as she spotted Jun-tae jogging in.
"Hee-wan! My number one, Hee-wan!" another called while Hee-wan waved innocently at the crowd.
"Won-woo!!! Wonnie-woo!" another screamed as Won-woo jogged through with bows.
Everyone screamed so loudly that Su-hee covered her ears tightly.
"This is why I don't attend to these events…" she complained.
Sun-ae cackled, patting her shoulder.
"Well, there's your number three man-to-reject-me project…" Sun-ae joked, pointing at Jun-tae.
He stood on the opposite side, stretching his arms and facing them. His eyes locked on Su-hee's.
She gasped, flushing. She grabbed her little purse and hid behind him. Was he looking at me? Am I overthinking? She lowered her purse and peeked.
He grinned at her and tilted his head. His lips moved, but no words came out. "Hello."
Her eyes widened as she straightened up.
"Maybe… I changed my mind about this third person… it doesn't feel right—"
"No! I said okay because you kept arguing the whole two days that it HAS to be him!" Sun-ae argued.
Su-hee hugged herself, widening her eyes.
"Yeah, that's before my guts were telling me that this would work… Now my guts are telling me I'm screwed!" Su-hee replied. She stood, preparing to leave before the game started—
"Sit!" Sun-ae demanded, her hand grabbing Su-hee's shoulder and pushing Su-hee down with her eyes marking her prey. "You stay until the game ends because you brought us here!"
Su-hee squeaked, defeated. She sat down and cried silently, facing forward.
Jun-tae watched her and giggled. Won-woo wrapped his arm around his neck.
"What's so funny? Is it the girl that you like?"
Hee-wan paused and glanced at Jun-tae, who smiled and locked eyes with him.
"Yes… she has a cute face that I couldn't resist," Jun-tae answered.
Hee-wan scoffed, furrowing his brows.
"Oh, really? What makes you think she will like you back?" Hee-wan questioned as Jun-tae brushed by.
Jun-tae stopped and placed his elbow on Hee-wan's back as he toe-touch stretched, chuckling.
"Oh… you'll see," Jun-tae taunted. Then he walked away, sitting on the bench by their coach.
Just before the coach talked, the Art Department entered the court. The female students screamed, squealing.
"Jae-hae Oppa!"
"Sunbae!!!"
"Go, Ogre!" Su-hee shouted. The people near her stopped and turned their heads to her. She pumped her hand in the air. "Beat them up!"
The Art Department men laughed as they looked at Jae-hae, who smiled warmly at her cheer.
"Gosh, you are lucky to have such a strong supporter…" his friend teased.
Jae-hae nodded and blushed.
"She's so grown up… and still acts like an orc," he whispered.
The referee blew the whistle, and the players sat before their coaches. The coaches gave them the basketball plan, and Jae-hae was placed as the jumper against… Jun-tae. They both crouched, staring at the ball. Jun-tae smirked with intrigue. Once the whistle sounded for the game to start, both of them leaped out of the ground, reaching for the ball.
Jun-tae touched the ball just a second before Jae-hae, flicking the ball toward Won-woo. Won-woo grabbed the ball, dribbling it toward the hoop. Just as he stepped near the three-point line, his shoes skidded, and his body shifted as he passed the ball toward Jun-tae.
Jae-hae blocked Jun-tae as Jun-tae nearly leaped, but he stopped and stepped to the side. Then he shot—SCORED.
"No!" Su-hee urged, her fists clashing each other as she sat down. "Why didn't the Ogre block that…?"
Just as Jun-tae returned to his side, he looked at Su-hee and winked. Su-hee gasped, holding her breath. The girls in front of her squeaked happily.
"Jun-tae Oppa just winked at us!" a girl beamed.
"He's so handsome… maybe I should hurry to the other side!" another claimed.
"Sun-ae… can I abort the mission today?" Su-hee whispered anxiously.
Sun-ae smiled without meeting her eyes, looking like a Devil Queen.
"Backing out? Then should I take back my bet?" she threatened.
"That's not it! I want to ask the last person… just not… him!" Su-hee argued.
"I already warned you… and do you remember what you said?" Sun-ae questioned. She pointed her finger up. "'The shittier the person is, the better.' Quoted Lee Su-hee, who's already at the top of the university rumor mill for celebrating after getting rejected by two hotties from different departments."
"I only asked for the bet! This last one has to be a better one…" Su-hee barked.
"It is… famous for rejecting girls who hand a drink to him… now wait until the game is done!" Sun-ae rejected.
Su-hee sobbed on the bleachers silently, waiting for the game to end.
Once the game ended and the Computer Science department won, Su-hee walked to the university store, taking a deep breath.
"Last one… you got this!" she mumbled. She grabbed her favorite Matcha Yakult drink. Once she bought it, she hurried to the locker room exit.
"Wow, Jun-tae is so amazing!" a team member complimented.
Hee-wan rolled his eyes, looking ahead—
"Su-hee?" he whispered. Then he saw the drink in her hand and smirked. She's hoping to get rejected… that' a girl.
Jun-tae smiled at his friends until he spotted Su-hee being dragged toward him. He paused and waited.
"Now!" Sun-ae demanded.
Su-hee saw Jun-tae staring at her, her cheeks flushing. She held the drink tightly and closed her eyes. Just as she was a few steps away, she raised her hand with the drink between them.
"I like you!"
Jun-tae's friends gasped, staring at the drink, then at her.
Won-woo sweated in concern for her. Oh no… he will flip out—
Jun-tae smirked and grabbed the drink from her hand.
"Okay."
