Chapter 6 - 6 Cherry Blossom Date

Su-hee placed her head at the edge of the bed, looking at the world upside-down.

"I told you… I have a weird gut feeling about this man…" Su-hee complained.

Sun-ae walked by, curling her hair with the curler. She sat by her vanity mirror, observing her makeup.

"I warned you not to choose him… Do you remember how many days you begged? You cried and complained that it had to be him…" Sun-ae explained. Then she put the curler down, finishing the last curls. She turned to Su-hee. "You even dare to jump over the rails."

"We are on the second floor! I wouldn't get hurt!" Su-hee barked.

Sun-ae slammed her eyeliner on the table, peering at her eyes. She turned her head left and right, checking the makeup evenly. Then she turned to Su-hee, who sat like a scowling chihuahua.

"Whatever… are you going to get ready? Don't you have a date to go? Because… you're dating now," Sun-ae teased.

Su-hee bit her lower lip, grabbing a pillow.

"Yah!" she shouted, throwing it at Sun-ae as Sun-ae ran to the door laughing hysterically.

"Have fun with your… date!" Sun-ae said, blowing a kiss at her.

Su-hee jumped out of the bed and stomped her feet, huffing.

"What is this guy on? Why did he say yes?! He was supposed to say no!" she yelled angrily. "You stupid troll!"

Meanwhile, Jun-tae walked out of his complex, poking his pinky into his ear.

"Is someone talking about me?" he wondered, looking at his complex. Then he shrugged and continued to his car. His phone rang.

HYUNG.

Jun-tae stared at his phone, and then… he locked it, ignoring the call.

"Did the snake whisper in your ear?" he scoffed. He started his engine and drove off to pick up Su-hee for their date.

IN SEOUL

A man looked at his phone after hearing a voicemail introduction.

"It seems like he doesn't want to be bothered…" he said, standing with his clean tuxedo.

"Director, CEO mentioned that you must work hard on this task… he also advised to ignore everything related to Young Master," his advisor stated.

The man's eye twitched.

"I will do whatever I want. Jun-tae is my younger brother… if he falls into any trouble, it is up to me to correct him," the man replied. He turned around and glared at his advisor, before his title, Jang Hwan-jung.

The advisor looked down, holding his hand tightly.

"Yes… Director."

BACK TO JUN-TAE AND SU-HEE

Su-hee glared at him while he drove the car.

"I'm getting embarrassed because you're staring at me," Jun-tae teased, blushing playfully.

Su-hee grunted, crossing her arms and looking out the window.

"Why did you say that you like me, too? We never even met!"

Jun-tae chuckled, focusing on the road.

"That's the same question to you… why did you confess to me when you never met me?"

She huffed, slamming her hand on the seat cushion.

"You were supposed to reject! You rejected all of the girls who confessed to you with a drink. Why did you accept my 'confession'?" she argued.

"Your friend was right about you… you do act like a chihuahua. You bark like one… Maybe that's why I started to like you," he smiled.

"Yah!" she snarled. "I'm being serious! I was one step away from heaven until you ruined it all!"

He chuckled, turning the wheels. Then he parked. He faced her, leaning his right elbow on her seat and getting closer to her face.

"Didn't I tell you? I like small dogs," he repeated with a sly grin. They locked eyes for a long time… silence stretched between them, and Su-hee's cheeks slowly flushed—

CLICK.

"We are here," he said.

Her buckle became undone, sliding. She bit her lower lip, seething as he stepped out of his door. This troll enjoys messing with me, doesn't he?! She grumpily stepped out of the car and hurried to his side.

"We don't even need to go on a date—" she paused and looked around. She gasped. "Why are we here, where couples are usually at?"

Jun-tae laughed a little, grabbing her hand gently.

"Because… we are on a date," he stated. She frowned, holding the strap of her handbag tightly. He pulled her forward. "Let's go take a look around."

Su-hee followed along by having Jun-tae drag her down the path by the cherry blossom trees. She looked around and noticed how loving a lot of the couples were… Her face slowly softened.

[FLASHBACK - Su-hee's Junior High Year]

Young Su-hee held a young man's hand down the cherry blossom trees in Seokchon Lake. She smiled widely as they walked by each other.

"Su-hee, maybe… after high school, we can go to Simni one. What do you think?" the young man asked.

Su-hee chuckled, blushing brightly.

"Why? I think that's too early—"

"Because I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Su-hee… what do you think? Do you want to spend the rest of your life with me?"

Su-hee paused, her watery eyes shimmering. She laughed it out.

"We are just junior high students… We haven't even figured out which college to go to yet."

He leaned against her head, staring at her warmly.

"No matter what, I want to attend and stay with you… forever."

[END OF FLASHBACK]

Su-hee shoved Jun-tae's hand away abruptly with tears in her eyes, paralyzed by the memory. Jun-tae turned around and was astonished.

"Are you… okay?"

"Why did you bring me here?" she asked.

"I…"

"We are not even really dating! You're just messing with me. So, why did you bring me here?!" Su-hee snapped.
