One thing to note about soul travel, it hurt a lot and was very nauseating.
Of course, I didn't have to worry about that since I didn't have a body to feel all of that, much less a brain, I think? Yet once I landed in my new body, I could suddenly feel EVERYTHING! So when I realized I was at least in a small apartment, the first thing I did was run to the bathroom and throw up.
After spending ten minutes vomiting up whatever I'd eaten that day, I finally flushed the toilet and walked over to the sink to rinse out my mouth. No matter how many times it happened, I never could get the taste of vomit out until I'd rinsed my mouth out, brushed my teeth, then rinsed again.
Once I got my wits about me, I took a good look at my new body. Starting with my hair, it was blonde and longer than I was used to, stopping right below my ears, but thankfully not in my face. My skin was a bit pale, but I have no clue as to why. I was also more fit than in my last life, but that was a benefit in my book.
Leaving the bathroom, I dug around and found some documents with my picture on them, as I learned my new name. Micah Hall, orphaned in California, just turned 15 a few weeks ago and received a sweet scholarship to the world's biggest Hero School, U.A.
'Great, at least I know what world I'm in. . .' I grumbled as I gathered all my important documents. Checking the date, I saw I had a little over a week left until it was time for the U.A. entrance exam, so I decided to refresh myself on the coursework before checking out what kind of quirk I had, then the Gacha.
Turns out my old life habits of chugging monster and studying till I passed out still worked. I woke up face down in a pile of books as I pried it off my face and stumbled to the bathroom once more. After relieving myself, I returned to my official documents and discovered what my quirk was supposed to be.
Micah Hall- 15 yrs
Quirk Type: Transformation
Quirk: Phoenix Wings
This quirk allows the user to manifest a pair of black wings like obsidian set on fire with bright marks and symbols.
Testing it out, I nearly tipped over by the extra weight now on my spine as the room's temperature rose sharply. Trying not to smack anything with my wings, I slowly went into the bathroom to get a good look at my wings.
I wasn't disappointed at all. The wings were just like the description said, black as obsidian and wreathed in flames and burning symbols that seemed to glow when focused on. Satisfied with my quirk, I turned my attention inwards as I called upon the Gacha I'd been given.
[FINALLY! I didn't think you'd ever activate me, you were taking so long!] The Gacha cried out as I winced from the volume. "Any chance you could be quieter?" I asked as the Gacha snorted.
[Why would I ever do that?] It questioned as I decided not to argue with it for now. "So did I get any tickets? That creepy ROB said I could earn them with Feats, but didn't say much else."
[Glad you asked. Yes, you get three Random Gold Tickets since you've transmigrated to this new world. Ready to pull?]
I nodded as a virtual spinning wheel manifested before me. Reaching out, I brought it closer and saw thousands of prizes I could win. A few stood out, but I spun the wheel to get the first one over with.
[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]
[Desperation]
Rare Ability
Your physical stats are augmented by the amount of danger you are in at any given moment, if you aren't in danger it will give you nothing, if you are in mild danger it will give you a common rank boost in all stats, if you are in danger the rarity will be raised to uncommon, if you are in severe danger it will be raised to rare, if you are in danger of dying at any moment it will be raised to Elite and if you are facing certain death it will be raised to Epic. This ability does not cost energy.
'This will come in handy once I get to Japan. Even if I don't make it into class A, the country goes downhill within the year, so this'll be something to help even the odds.' I guess I could also use it as an early warning system, though it'd probably be best not to rely too much on it.
'Next spin!'
[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]
[Guardian Shield]
Uncommon Item
God of War - An extremely durable bracelet that can unfold into a supernaturally durable shield faster than the blink of an eye. It can also serve the duty of a bludgeon if need be.
Now this would come in handy! I loved watching Kratos use this thing to bash enemies in GOW. It made my day to see him smack around Baldur with it, and I'm pretty sure it would keep me safe from the Nomu and other heavy hitters, hopefully.
'Last spin!'
[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]
[Master Ninjas Belt]
Rare Item
A black, inconspicuous belt that once belonged to a master ninja. Wearing this belt grants you incredibly acrobatic abilities, allows you to stick to walls, ignore fall damage, and muffle all sounds you make unintentionally(Does not work for anything above the volume of speaking).
I nearly tripped over my wings. I was so excited when I read the description. Not only would this thing blend in no matter what I wore, but it even negated fall damage! This belt would make this so much easier for me going forwards it wasn't even funny.
I didn't want it to be a crutch, however, so I'd better not use it during training, but battle was perfectly fine! 'That was such a lucky pull! Will it always be like that?' I asked the Gacha as it laughed.
[Lol, no. You just got really lucky this time around, some of the stuff in there is useless, sometimes straight up detrimental, so you got off easy, this time. . .]
Thanking the Gacha, I picked my way out of the bathroom before putting my wings away as I left my dorm. If my memories were good, there should be a decent food truck not far from the government housing I was staying at.
A few people greeted me as I left the building, as I emerged into a brightly lit California night. Making my way towards the food truck didn't take long, as I bought a cheeseburger with fries. Eating my food, I made a mental map of all the things I knew would happen in this world.
So obviously, USJ, where the League would attack 1-A for the first time, then the sports festival would be the next big event. With my wings and ninja belt, I was more than confident in passing any physical exam thrown at me, and the sports festival race would be a breeze.
I was still marginally worried about the Nomu since it was able to go blow-for-blow with All Might, but the Guardian shield should help even things out. The next big things after that were the training camp attack, then All Might fighting AFO, which I did not look forward to.
The big problem I realized was that I didn't know when these things would happen. Sure, I watched the anime back in my old life, but I was there for the big hero fights and seeing All Might look cool, not to make a timeline. So I knew what order things would happen in, just not when.
Still, that put me a cut above the rest since I knew enough to know when things would really hit the fan. I would definitely try my best to help where I could though. I didn't always like how the show portrayed certain characters, but I was sure it would be better once I actually met them all.
'I just gotta get there first.' I planned some more as I threw away my trash and walked back home. Training was simple, I didn't need to worry about much other than my wings, and since the U.S was more lenient with quirk laws, I could keep them out and even fly around as long as I didn't get in anyone's way.
I planned to take advantage of that since I knew Japan was much more strict when it came to Quirk usage in public. So getting back to the dorm, I took a quick shower before sleeping the rest of the night away, ready for tomorrow.
