Chapter 19: The USJ Incident Begins
"Hey, what are you wearing?"
After Aizawa Shouta left, Yaoyorozu Momo walked over and asked Uchiha Izuna curiously.
"Just the same outfit as before," Izuna replied as he opened his locker and took out his ninja-style combat suit.
"Ah? But today's training is rescue practice," Momo said, blinking in confusion. "Is it convenient for you to wear that?"
"What about you?" Izuna asked instead.
"I'll wear my original costume," Momo answered without hesitation.
"That works," Izuna said with a faint smile as he placed the outfit over his shoulder.
"I'll go change first."
"See you later."
"Alright."
The destination for Class 1-A was another simulation facility at U.A. High School.
The training ground covered a massive area—even larger than the one used during the entrance exam.
Waiting to greet them was a hero dressed in what looked like a space suit, giving off a cool and mysterious presence.
It was the Space Hero: Thirteen.
Thirteen was widely respected for exceptional performance in disaster rescue operations.
"Students, we've been waiting for you for a while," Thirteen said politely.
"Please come inside."
Compared to Aizawa's blunt attitude, Thirteen's tone was extremely gentle.
"Please!"
Almost every student from Class 1-A bowed deeply to show their respect and admiration.
Izuna, however, remained standing calmly.
Thirteen noticed, but didn't seem to mind. Instead, they simply smiled and guided the class forward.
"This facility," Thirteen explained as they walked ahead of the group, "was created to simulate all kinds of disasters and accidents."
"It is called the Unforeseen Simulation Joint."
"Or simply—USJ."
"No. 13, where's All Might?" Aizawa asked as he walked up beside them.
"Wasn't he supposed to meet us here?"
Thirteen leaned closer and spoke quietly.
"Senior… it seems he pushed his body too hard on the way here and has reached his activity limit."
"He's currently resting in the lounge."
"…Seriously?" Aizawa muttered with a tired look.
Still, it didn't change much for the training.
"Fine," he said.
"Let's begin."
Aizawa stepped aside, allowing Thirteen to take over the explanation.
"As you can see, my Quirk is Black Hole," Thirteen said, addressing the class.
"With it, I can easily absorb and destroy even the hardest diamond."
"Now think about it."
"How many people in this world are harder than diamonds?"
The students fell silent.
"We heroes exist to arrest villains, not to kill them," Thirteen continued calmly.
"That is why I only use my Quirk in extreme situations."
"Some of you may possess Quirks capable of causing similar destruction."
"At first glance, our superhuman society seems stable thanks to strict regulations and licensing systems."
"But if we make even one mistake, someone could die."
"So you must learn to control your power and never act recklessly."
"Please remember this."
"You have already experienced the possibilities of your abilities during Aizawa-sensei's physical tests."
"And during All Might's combat training, you learned how dangerous your powers can be when used against others."
"In today's lesson, I want you to learn something even more important."
"How to use your Quirks to save people."
"Your power exists for that purpose."
"I hope you will understand this by the end of today's class."
"Thank you for listening."
Thirteen finished speaking and bowed politely.
"Alright, first—"
Just as Aizawa stepped forward to continue the lesson—
The lights throughout the entire facility suddenly shut off.
At the same time, the surrounding magnetic field fluctuated violently.
Aizawa's pupils shrank.
Years of combat experience instantly warned him—
Something was wrong.
"Shhh—"
Ahead of them, a purple vortex suddenly appeared out of thin air.
A few seconds later, a pale man with severed hands attached to his face and body slowly stepped out.
Madness filled his eyes.
"Everyone gather together!" Aizawa shouted immediately.
"Do not move!"
"No. 13—protect the students!"
He stepped forward, placing himself between the students and the portal.
More figures began emerging from the vortex.
One after another.
It was as if they were endless.
"Is this part of the training?" Kirishima Eijiro said casually, shielding his eyes as he looked ahead.
"Like the entrance exam where they didn't warn us first?"
"Don't move!" Aizawa roared.
The students froze instantly.
"Those…"
"Are villains."
"…WHAT?!"
"Villains?!"
The entire class erupted in panic.
They had enrolled at U.A. High School to become professional heroes—
But right now, they were still first-year students.
They barely had any real combat experience.
Facing a powerful villain alone would already be dangerous.
But the enemies in front of them weren't just one or two.
It was an entire group.
