Chapter 24: The Flood Zone
Three stones shot forward and pierced straight through Nomu's brain.
Blood splattered into the air, and the smell of iron quickly filled the surroundings.
"U-Uchiha-san…" Tenya Iida trembled as he watched the scene unfold.
His legs went weak, and he almost vomited.
He had never witnessed something so brutal before.
"This…!" Kurogiri, who was still confronting Aizawa Shouta and Thirteen, was equally stunned.
The Nomu they had painstakingly developed had been defeated just like that?
What kind of monster was this student named Uchiha Izuna?
With its brain destroyed, Nomu immediately lost all ability to move.
Its body swayed before collapsing heavily to the ground, completely lifeless.
"Aizawa-sensei, Thirteen-sensei," Izuna said calmly as he looked at the fallen creature.
"Can you handle Kurogiri?"
He sounded almost disappointed.
He had expected Nomu to last longer in a fight.
Instead, it had been defeated far too easily.
Izuna had no idea that Nomu's inability to dodge the stones was simply because his speed was far beyond what its brain could process.
"Yeah… it shouldn't be a problem," Aizawa replied.
For now, he decided not to question Izuna's strange abilities.
The most important thing was protecting the students.
Izuna nodded.
"Then I'll go help the others in the flood zone."
His figure vanished instantly.
Meanwhile, in the flood area—
Izuku Midoriya stared at the villains surrounding the water with a serious expression.
He still couldn't control his Quirk properly.
Every time he used it, it caused severe damage to his own body.
Standing on the small boat with Tsuyu Asui, Midoriya ran through countless possible strategies in his mind.
But there was only one real chance.
They were alone.
And there were more than a dozen villains waiting below.
The odds were clearly against them.
"They've been sitting up there for too long," one villain muttered impatiently.
"Why don't we just shoot them down?"
Another villain shook his head.
"Did you forget what Shigaraki told us?"
"We need to figure out their Quirks first."
Behind the group of villains—
Izuna quietly appeared, standing calmly on the surface of the water.
He crouched behind one of the criminals.
"How long are you planning to stay in this stalemate?" he asked casually.
On the boat, Midoriya and Tsuyu stared in shock.
Their eyes were fixed on Izuna's feet.
Standing on water?!
How was that even possible?
"It's only been about ten minutes," the criminal replied absentmindedly.
Then he suddenly realized something was wrong.
He turned around abruptly.
When he saw Izuna standing there, walking on water as if it were solid ground, his face twisted in disbelief.
"Ah—!"
In panic, the villain attacked.
The water surged violently as a giant hand made of water rose up and slammed toward Izuna.
"Crash—!"
Waves exploded in every direction.
The villains' formation collapsed as they were knocked off balance.
Many stumbled around, dizzy and disoriented.
"Damn it! Did you forget to take your medicine before coming out today?" one of them shouted angrily.
"Who attacked just now?!"
"There was someone standing on the water!" the attacker yelled.
"Standing on water?" the others frowned slightly before shrugging it off.
"It's just standing on water. That's not some incredible Quirk."
"And he looks like a student anyway."
"Nothing to worry about."
"Are you sure there's nothing to worry about?"
Izuna suddenly appeared behind them, arms crossed.
"Who—?!"
The closest criminal spun around.
When he saw Izuna clearly, his eyes widened.
"Kill him first!"
"So annoying," Izuna muttered.
He grabbed the nearest villain by the throat and lifted him into the air.
Then he tightened his grip.
"Crack."
The man struggled weakly for a moment before his limbs went limp.
He was dead.
"U… Uchiha-san?" Midoriya's breathing became uneven.
Izuna had just killed someone.
And he looked completely calm.
Why?
Why could he kill someone and act as if nothing had happened?
At that moment, Midoriya and Tsuyu suddenly felt that the person in front of them—
Was a complete stranger.
The villains in the water were also stunned.
None of them moved.
Seeing an adult kill someone like that might have been shocking.
But seeing a teenage student do it without hesitation—
That was terrifying.
"Well?" Izuna said coldly as he casually dropped the corpse into the water.
"Aren't you going to attack?"
"If you don't…"
"Then I'll start."
