Chapter 17: Combat Training Begins
The combat suit Uchiha Izuna requested was almost identical to the armor worn by Madara in the ninja world.
Now, Izuna was dressed in a black tight combat uniform with a long black outer shirt. The design carried a strong traditional Japanese atmosphere, resembling the attire of ancient ninja.
Over the outfit, he wore iron-red armor, providing effective protection during battle.
"Pink eyes, do you think you're some kind of ninja dressed like that?" Bakugo Katsuki scoffed when he saw Izuna in the changing room.
"You guessed right," Izuna replied calmly as he fastened the last button on his clothing.
"I actually am a ninja."
"What a childish fantasy," Bakugo snorted. "You're even wearing armor. I'll kill you someday!"
"Costumes are important, boys and girls," All Might said proudly as he stood in front of the class with his hands on his hips, flashing a wide smile.
"From today onward, you must develop the awareness of being heroes!"
"Is the battle suit comfortable, ninja?" Yaoyorozu Momo asked as she walked over to Izuna, studying his outfit curiously.
"Your costume…" Izuna said as he glanced at her revealing hero outfit.
"Did you change it from the original design?"
"You wouldn't understand," Momo replied, gently brushing her hair aside and giving him a mysterious smile.
"Yes, everyone looks fantastic!" All Might nodded in satisfaction as he looked over the students.
"Alright, let's begin!"
"Teacher!"
At that moment, Tenya Iida, dressed in his armor, raised his hand seriously.
"If I remember correctly, this is the same training ground used for the entrance exam. Are we going to repeat the simulated combat exercise?"
"This training will be two levels more advanced than the entrance exam," All Might said while holding up two fingers.
"Although most hero battles appear to take place outdoors, statistics show that criminals are more likely to appear indoors—such as during burglaries, theft, kidnappings, or underground dealings."
"In a society full of Quirks…"
He cleared his throat.
"Well, that explanation went a bit far."
"In short, the truly dangerous villains usually hide in the shadows."
"Now then!"
"You will split into two teams—heroes and villains—and conduct a two-on-two indoor battle!"
"Teacher, shouldn't we be doing basic training?" Asui Tsuyu asked while tilting her head.
"This exercise is basic training," All Might replied.
"But the difference is that this time, you won't be fighting slow robots."
"You'll be fighting real people."
"Can I beat them up?" Bakugo asked eagerly while glaring directly at Izuna.
"Will there be punishment like Aizawa-sensei's immediate expulsion?"
"How will the teams be divided?"
"Strong and weak combinations or random?"
"Hey, do you think my cloak looks cooler than yours?"
"I still think All Might is the coolest!"
The classroom quickly filled with chatter.
All Might sighed helplessly.
Maybe I'm not suited to being a teacher…
If it weren't for that boy Midoriya, I probably wouldn't have come to U.A. at all…
"Quiet! Listen carefully!"
All Might clapped his hands to regain everyone's attention.
"In this scenario, the villain team will hide a nuclear weapon somewhere inside their base."
"The hero team must locate the weapon and safely neutralize the threat."
"The heroes win if they capture the villains or secure the weapon within the time limit."
"The villains win if they protect the weapon until time runs out or capture the heroes."
All Might suddenly produced a small box and raised it into the air.
"Your teammates and opponents will be decided by lottery!"
"Group C?"
Looking at the slip of paper in his hand, Izuna glanced around to find his partner.
"Hi."
Before he could look further, Yaoyorozu Momo suddenly appeared beside him with a bright smile.
"Are you in Group C?" Izuna asked as he noticed the slip in her hand.
"Correct!" Momo raised the paper proudly.
"It seems we're partners, Izuna."
"…Then please take care of me," Izuna said with a faint smile.
"Likewise!"
First Match
Villains: Bakugo Katsuki, Tenya IidaHeroes: Izuku Midoriya, Ochaco Uraraka
In the end, the battle concluded with Midoriya severely injured, but the hero team still claimed victory.
However, the building used for the exercise was nearly reduced to rubble due to the intense fight between Midoriya and Bakugo.
Second Match
Villains: Uchiha Izuna, Yaoyorozu MomoHeroes: Jiro Kyoka, Kaminari Denki
"They already know your Quirk," Momo said thoughtfully as they stood on the rooftop of the building.
"So they probably won't choose close combat."
"The victory conditions are either capturing both opponents or simply defending the weapon until time runs out."
She raised one finger and smiled.
"Maybe we should take the initiative."
"Can you defend the nuclear weapon alone?" Izuna asked as he tapped the large metal container beside them.
"Who said I would stay here?" Momo replied with a mysterious smile.
"When the time comes…"
"It will depend on you."
Izuna looked at her silently.
