Chapter 16: Detention Duty
Uchiha Izuna carried Death Arms through the dark streets. His figure flickered several times, moving like a gust of wind.
Within only a few seconds, he brought the injured hero to a relatively safe location near a hospital.
"What exactly are you…?" Death Arms asked weakly.
After witnessing Izuna's incredible speed, he was already numb with shock.
What puzzled him most was how someone whose Quirk was supposedly Hypnosis could possess such overwhelming combat ability.
"Ten months ago," Izuna said calmly, helping him sit down against a wall, "if I had been in danger, you would've come to rescue me without hesitation, right?"
"But in the end, you defeated him," Death Arms replied quietly.
"Even though you strongly deny it, I know you were the one who defeated the sludge monster."
"Your Quirk is hypnosis, and the other kid's Quirk is explosions. Only hypnosis could disturb the sludge monster's mind like that."
"Alright," Izuna said as he stood up and looked toward the distant hospital building.
"The matter is settled. We don't owe each other anything now."
"There's a hospital over there. Can you get there yourself?"
"Wait, what do you mean we don't owe each other?" Death Arms grabbed the corner of Izuna's shirt.
"And shouldn't you come with me to the police station? Do you even realize who Stain is?"
"Stain—the Hero Killer," Izuna replied calmly.
"Of course I know who he is."
He gently removed Death Arms' hand.
"But I don't want the police getting involved in this."
"So I won't be going to the station."
"Let's just pretend this never happened."
"I didn't save you ten months ago," Death Arms said after a moment of silence.
"So why did you save me today?"
Izuna paused briefly.
"…Because I find you more tolerable than most."
"…"
"Still," Izuna muttered as he turned around, "I feel like I forgot something."
Without looking back, he walked away.
Ten minutes later—
As Izuna slowly walked home, he suddenly realized what he had forgotten.
The groceries he had bought earlier…
Were still lying in the alley where he fought Stain.
"…."
For Izuna, the encounter with the Hero Killer Stain was nothing more than a small incident.
The next morning, he arrived at U.A. High School on time for class.
But not long after entering the classroom, he was called to the teacher's office.
Standing beside him was an extremely irritated Bakugo Katsuki.
"Ah… what a headache."
In the office, Aizawa Shouta looked as tired as ever.
"I didn't expect something like that to happen in my class on the very first day."
The "incident" he was referring to was naturally the moment when Bakugo fainted after Izuna used his Sharingan on him the previous day.
"Uchiha," Aizawa said seriously, his eyes suddenly becoming sharp.
"You should understand that using your Quirk for private fights inside the school is forbidden."
"Otherwise, I have the authority to expel you at any time."
Then he turned to Bakugo.
"And Bakugo… I'm not asking you to change your personality."
"But you should learn to calm down and stop causing unnecessary trouble."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it," Bakugo muttered impatiently with his hands in his pockets.
"And you, Uchiha?" Aizawa asked.
"I'll try," Izuna replied calmly.
"…I won't punish you too harshly since this is your first offense," Aizawa said as he opened a drawer and pulled out a folder.
He handed it to Bakugo.
"You two will handle the school cleaning duties for this month."
"Huh?!" Bakugo exploded instantly.
He slammed the folder onto Aizawa's desk and pointed directly at Izuna.
"You mean I have to clean with this pink-eyed guy?!"
"Yes," Aizawa replied flatly.
"And you'll do it together every day after school."
His bloodshot eyes made his faint smile look slightly terrifying.
Bakugo glared at Izuna for a long time.
If looks could kill, Izuna would have died hundreds of times already.
Finally, Bakugo snapped.
"Damn pink eyes! I'm going to kill you someday!"
"…."
The morning classes at U.A. High School mainly consisted of general subjects like English.
Surprisingly, the difficulty level was extremely low—almost like elementary school material.
But there was one good thing about the school.
At lunchtime, the large cafeteria served high-quality food at incredibly cheap prices.
Among all the options, Izuna liked ramen the most.
A bowl only cost 100 yen.
Ridiculously cheap.
After lunch—
The afternoon class finally began.
Hero Fundamentals.
"I! Am! Here!"
The classroom door burst open dramatically as the bell rang.
All Might appeared in an exaggerated pose, wearing his red costume, blue cape, and enormous muscular form.
"WOW! It's actually All Might!"
"I heard rumors, but I didn't think he'd actually teach here!"
"Look at that costume—it's just like a classic superhero!"
"The art style is so different it's giving me goosebumps!"
The entire class erupted with excitement.
Especially Izuku Midoriya, who looked like he might faint from excitement.
All Might walked confidently to the podium and placed his hands on his hips.
"Hello, everyone!"
"The class I'm responsible for is Hero Fundamentals!"
"This course focuses on intense training to build a strong foundation for becoming heroes."
"And of course—it carries the most credits."
He raised his arm energetically.
"Without further delay!"
"Today's training will be—Combat Training!"
He pointed toward the wall.
Immediately, several square compartments slid out, each marked with a yellow number.
"These boxes contain your battle costumes!"
"They were designed based on the Quirk reports and requests you submitted before enrollment."
"Now then!"
"Everyone, change into your costumes and gather at the training ground!"
"GO!!!"
