Chapter 4 - The Goblin King

The boss chamber felt heavy, an eerie aura filling the space. This was the might of he who sat on the throne of metal and bone, Titanus, The Goblin King. Now upright, he reached for a large axe near his throne. With a sudden swing, a large slash tore through the chamber, leaving destruction in it's wake.

"Hmm, so predictable!! I know everyone of your moves. You might not remember, but I've slain you more than a hundred times in-game".

Min-jun's words felt like a taunt, his composed demeanour a clear sign of his familiarity. Deciding not to delay, he charged at Titanus, his dark dagger poised for combat. Behind him, five skeletal knights charged with swords in hand.

He had recovered a significant chunk of his lost Mana and with it, he could maintain the skeletal summons. He leapt over Titanus' axe, dealing a devastating slash to his arm. Titanus was as large as two fully grown elephants, towering over Min-jun with authority, truly the Goblin King. However, his stature did not even phase Min-jun.

Min-jun kicked off his axe, using it as a leverage to gain altitude.

"... Now!!! Mell, Use your basic skill!!!"

"As you wish, master... The gathering of darkness, the edge of nightmare, Dark Bullet!!! "

A torrent of spherical dark magic slammed into Titanus, knocking him onto his throne with a loud rumble. Min-jun knew his openings, descending with slashes across Titanus' frame that dealt more injury. He created distance, dispelling the skeletal warriors. He praised Mell for her accuracy, Eliciting a blush from her in response. Min-jun decided to end things with his next charge, but he needed Titanus immobilized.

For that task, he trusted Mell to use her final strike. Every character card had a final strike, an attack that forced them back into card mode, completely depleting the master's Mana reserve.

And for the Nether Witch, hers was Min-jun's favorite.

"...From the depths of the abyss, let the cries of lost souls tear the divide. I bind thee by the weight of your atrocities and confine you to the curse of darkness; Dark Bind!!! "

Elongated skeletal tendrils latched onto Titanus, restraining him in his throne with overwhelming effectiveness. Min-jun couldn't help but break into a cold laughter, Mell returning to his deck after reverting into her card.

"Oi!! Titanus!! You like that!! This move's my favorite. But I ain't done yet!!!"

He charged by himself, scaling Titanus' frame in a single bound.

"...Now, the icing on the cake. Thank you for giving me this beautiful weapon with critical hit enchantment. Initiate!!! Three-hit trigger!!! "

With synchronized slashes, he tore off Titanus' arm, releasing his grip on the axe. Min-jun had never been this excited. This was his paradise, his sanctuary, in game like combat, he could find his peace. After three hits, a critical condition was met, and Min-jun deciding to use it on Titanus as his final move, aimed for his weak spot.

"... Titanus, The Goblin King; weak spot, in between his eyes!!!! Burst Critical!!!!"

A sudden burst of dark energy oozed out of the dagger, his firm two handed grip on the blade followed by a strong downward strike that tore a hole through Titanus' head.

"Rest in pieces, Titanus".

The body of the goblin king crumbled to dust, blood and all, leaving behind a single iron treasure chest. This was not Min-jun's target. He knew that opening the chest before him meant being teleported out of the boss chamber. He walked near Titanus' throne, noting the secret passage right underneath the throne. Thus was the entrance to the treasure chamber he sought.

walking into the passage way, he arrived at a room filled to the brim with gold and all sorts of treasure. Every sane person would immediately go for the gold. However, Min-jun knew better. The first time he had discovered the chamber, he died ninety times, before realizing that the gold triggered a calamity event that led to instant death.

He was after the mythic grade chest, the only attainable treasure he needed in this apocalypse.

"Ah!! There you are!!"

He exclaimed, reaching for a black, translucent chest. He opened it, and a sudden system notice flashed.

Notice: you have discovered a mythic grade chest.

Items obtained;

-Left-handed dark moon dagger.

-Grimoire of the Dead: a necromancy item.

-Dark Dragon Armour: Chest plate, elbow gaurds and shin gaurds.

-Cloak of Scales: Stealth item forged from the dark dragon's scales.

-S-rank, Tier three card: Anastasia; The dragon queen.

-Dominator: enhancement type mask.

Min-jun could barely contain his excitement. He took out the dominator, deciding to keep it on for the time being. With the card in his hand, he commented on how the card was a tier higher than Mell. He decided to summon it.

A Portal materialized, a light skinned black horned female immerging. She was clad in a black gown, her eyes carrying the overwhelming pressure of a dragon. This was the power of a dragon queen.

She seemed calm, her tone slightly defiant as she made a statement that shattered Min-jun's world view.

"So, your world was overrun by their game too?"
