Chapter 3 - First to Attain a Class

Card-Master Class: these are attained based on the dominant card affinity. The more cards you have in a certain affinity, the more dominant that affinity becomes and determines how you collect character cards and skill cards.

To attain a Card-Master Class, an artifact with your dominant affinity must be attained, either through monster drops or random chest opening in the Mayhem Towers.

"Somehow, this feels nostalgic... ...The very first floor".

Min-jun was now in the first Tower, The Dark Forest instance. Being the hardcore gamer he was, he immediately began rummaging in his thoughts for information about the first tower.

"Aha!! I remember now!! There's a hidden treasure chamber on the first floor. I happened to find it while leveling up in-game. If I remember correctly, it was a mythic grade chest for dark affinity card Masters. The only catch, I have to go through all these annoying mobs in my way just to get there!!!".

From the shadows, goblins and slime monsters were ready to attack at any moment. Spinning the metallic bat at blinding speeds, he dashed towards the goblins without a shred of hesitation. Min-jun had a distinct fear for life. He feared death, feared rejection, feared loneliness. However, in his games, he was a monster. He had no fear, no anxiety, no trembling. In his games, he didn't care about anything else.

His razor sharp focus in his games made him a prime survivor of this apocalypse. With precise swings, he broke several goblin necks. His movements slowed down, coming to a stop before the horde of slime monsters.

Slime where different in Magi-Card. They were large monsters, capable of digesting and breaking down anything they clung to in mere seconds. He had to execute his plans with caution.

"Dark slime race; level 3 monsters. Weak points include, their core, and the upper half of their gelatinous mass. I might be level six now, but exercising caution is the best here. Even A ranks sometimes lost to these things...".

With swift steps, Min-jun leaped over the horde, drawing their aggressiveness into chasing him. He knew the first floor well, estimating his distance from a lake to be a couple of meter at most.

"...I know one weakness most players didn't know, dark slimes are non-bouyant creature. Meaning in the presence of a large body of water..."

As he said this, he leapt into the lake, holding his breath under the water. After a few seconds, the dark slimes abandoned their chase, allowing Min-jun to come out for air. He was ready to swin to shore, when he felt another brain splitting headache. He lost balance and began to sink. In the lake water, a glowing pair of eyes were glued to him. He wasn't suffocating, he wasn't scared, he was just frozen.

He heard a voice in the water, deep and overpowering.

"Your world shall be ours, Plague Cleaver!!!!! "

"Haaaah!!!!"

On the lake shore, Min-jun's hands trembled, the cold air sweeping over him. He couldn't comprehend what had happened. Was it a dream? How could the being in the water see his title. He peeked his head in the lake one more time, but saw nothing. This baffled him. Deciding to ignore for now, he spotted the tunnel that lead to the first floor boss room.

He knew that to get to the hidden chamber, he had to defeat the boss, and instead of taking the floor boss chest, he had to find a hidden compartment in the room that would lead to the chamber.

"The first floor boss is a goblin king. Defeating him is going to take some effort. Unfortunately, all the monsters were dropping were measley magic stones. No cards or treasure. At this rate I'm going to have to waste one of my card summonings. At level six I can summon five times the character cards I could summon at level one, which was three. I need a card that can buff my strength in numbers. I was kinda hoping to save you for later but, I guess I have no choice... ...".

"Activate Deck draw!".

Notice: Card summoning has begun, please choose a card.

"Let's go with card number 44; The Nether Witch, Mell Necrose"

A black card materialized from thin air, dark particles oozing from it's crisp frame as Min-jun took hold of the card. With a simple toss, the card flew out of his hand, levitating closely above ground as it stretched into a portal.

From the portal, a sleak, purple skinned woman immerged, wrapped in blackened bandages with golden edges and wearing a black crown. In her hand, she held a black staff with skulls engraved on it's fibres.

She had dark red pupils, and sleak black hair that complimented her dull skin tone. This was Min-jun's favorite card; The Nether witch.

"How may I be of assistance, master?"

Min-jun could barely control himself, the thought of giving her an unseemly order crossed his mind severally. He suppressed himself, giving her the order to use her tactical skill instead.

Mell stood up, staff pointed in the distance as she called out her children from the underworld.

Five portals opened, and a chunk of Min-jun's mana was drained. From the portals, five skeletal knights appeared, their armor tattered and rusted yet still functional.

Min-jun was ecstatic, eager to test out the full might of his favorite card against the goblin king.

With his arm stretched towards the boss room, the huge iron gate slowly groaned as it opened up. The first sight Min-jun caught was a trio of three large goblin generals and behind them, he couldn't help but notice the goblin king, seated on a throne of metal and bone, simply observing.

With a sly grin, a sadistic visage took over Min-jun's expression. He rose his metallic bat, ordering a charge on the goblin generals. The skeletal knights were swift, lightweight but durable. They made decisive strikes, injuring the goblin generals. Min-jun exchanged a glance with Mell, and with a silent agreement, they both charged in to the frey.

Using his knowledge of monster weak points, Min-jun made quick work of all three of the goblin generals. With them out of the way, he was now at level ten, and Mell was now a Tier 2, S rank card.

He gained a new weapon from one of the goblin generals. It was a gold tier, right-handed dark dagger.

"I hadn't expected to find an artifact this valuable on the very first floor".
