The beast looked down on Chris almost as though it was his superior.
Chris on the other hand, calculated, making sure that he could engage himself in the perfect position to pounce.
Without warning, the beast lunged.
Its sharp claws ready to pierce onto the feeble meat of Chris and tear it too pieces.
Chris dodged.
Turning his way out of trouble, although the beast was still able to pierce his skin.
He used the lightning flow from his blade to stun his opponent, thereby giving him an advantage.
He stabbed the side of the animal.
The animal dropped to the ground.
The willingness to stand had left.
It lied on the floor groaning in pain.
Chris smirked.....feeling as though he had conquered this wild beast so simply and totally easier than he had imagined.
He stepped forward.
Now looking down at the creature.
His eyes locked on.
He extended his blade.
No more time to waste.
His next step was to completely cut the head of this deadly beast.
Snap
The beast lunge back again at Chris.
Chris was stunned.
The same creature that laid for dead a second ago had gained an unfair advantage over him.
He began struggling.
His next move was vital.
He stroke the paws of the beast and used the lightning to stun it.
No reward for his efforts.
No effects whatsoever.
The beast still stood strong.
Standing with pride.
It lunged again, even with multiple injuries it was still able to put up a decent fight.
He struggled even more than he did when he fought Rezel. At least the creature was fighting back.
The animal bit with its teeth and Chris blocked.
He then sliced the mouth of the beast.
Blood gushed everywhere.
The mouth of the beast had almost been turn into two.
The beast growled and groaned each strike inflicting more pain.
Chris though grew tired.
His movements became slower and slower as he fought on.
The one major effect of this gained power finally began to catch up to him.
Same went for the beast, it panted heavier and moved slower.... maybe due to all the injuries it sustained around it's body.
The blue flames began to dim.
Chris could sense the weakening of the beast.
He too was also weak but the beast was also badly injured.
He immediately deactivated his V2.
He knew that he had to seize this opportunity.
He ran towards the beast, kicking it's side again.
The beast flew a few meters and stopped in its tracks.
Eyes struggling to stay open.
The beast was dieing.
Chris had taken this beast way better than he would have expected.
He quickly brought the beast to the ground and was ready in case of any surprise attacks.
The beast had enhanced but he was certain that his powers were much greater than that of the beast.
Only a scratch had been laid on him throughout the entire fight.
On his left shoulder, although it didn't get much contact so it did not disturb him too badly.
He raised his blade.
Still red and looking like all the fury of Chris had been stored in it.
He panted heavily as he looked down at the beast, the beast did no different.
Both looked tired, but the creature looked beat... lying in front of Chris like a mattress, completely motionless.
He smiled once he noticed that his power was truly uncomparable.
"Possibly, this entire hullabaloo I have gotten myself into isn't even worth it", Chris thought to himself.
He couldn't back down now, he had gone too far to do so.
He began to bring down the blade onto the neck of the groaning beast.
A slight pause followed next.
He stopped, ears twitching....listening for something.
Chris turned his blade towards where he suspected the noise came from.
He once again took his fighting stance ready to fight for his rights once more.
"Wait are those cubs", an echo sprung through the hills.
Babies that looked like they belonged to the animal he nearly killed walked past the bushes clearly visible.
Their eyes bellowed with water.
They growled while the beast groaned.
All together they were three in number.
Although they were small, they still looked heavy and powerful with a powerful aura surrounding them.
One glance and he could easily notice the resemblance.
He flinched. "This must be their father".
He couldn't dare kill the beast anymore.
His will just wouldn't let him.
He had already killed his own dad by the strength of his fists but looking at the cries of the children alone dared him not to do anything drastic.
They sobbed seeing their father in such condition but there was nothing more that Chris could do.
He had to get out of there fast to avoid attracting anymore threats.
The cubs did look like they didn't have any fighting experience, but the traits of their father were clearly visible in them.
The exceptional pin-pointed claws, the large number and length of the teeth and many more traits were easily noticeable even from childhood.
Chris still felt terrible.
Even he knew that the beast wouldn't live for long before facing his end especially with all the other critters that habited within these parts.
Still, leaving the creature alive after absolutely destroying it was enough to put a smile on the ruined face of Chris.
He dropped the act and strolled along, counting the days in his head.
"Only six days left before the fight for leadership", Chris said as he strolled past the reunited family.
He still kept a high guard but he had to find a place to stay for the night.
It grew dark and wandering about in the darkness grew even more risks than day time.
He was just at the base of the mountain and he had already seen one of the strangest critters in his life.
Even he couldn't tell what he was left to behold before obtaining this celestial order.
He placed his hands in his trouser pockets.
Looking ahead.
"I wish Quill was here with me", he sighed, as he missed the freedom of living as emperor of Lightning District.
"The satisfaction of always having someone next to you and not wandering about seeking protection at every turn".
The man who he intended to fight possibly wasn't even getting ready or training during this passing week that he would be away.
'To remain leader, there must be consequences and responsibilities that follow', Chris recited his father's words through the bitter darkness.
He still looked for somewhere to pack up for the night..... slowly climbing up the hill to his goal.
