Chris' eyes slowly opened to the brightness of a new day.
He looked up and witnessed the restless figure of Derek walking to and fro around the tree.
It was obvious that the pains had subsided so Chris seized the opportunity to get up himself.
"So I've been meaning to ask what is in the bag", Chris spoke softly to alert Derek after he had gotten up.
He froze and turned his face towards Chris.
"Important pieces of information that cannot get into the wrong hands".
Chris still looked confused possibly expecting a more direct answer.
"So what is it then?!", Chris asked again this time with a louder tone.
No replies.
Derek just turned his head and went back to being lost in thought.
Chris didn't bother anymore but he knew they had to get back on track.
He was nearly half way up the hill and his goal stood just within his graps.
"Okay guys get up", Chris declared to wake up Fidget and Boris.
The two were nonchalant easily noticeable by Chris.
It took about two minutes before they were finally ready to get on the road.
It always made Chris smile whenever he saw the three men standing next to him on the most dangerous hill with fully loaded weapons.
It made him feel that no obstacle could bring them down.
Still, to get the celestial appearance won't be easy.
Also due to the fact that a guardian always stands watch to eliminate anyone who seeks the celestial order.
The men strolled through the tall grass.
All the boils that circled their bodies had been reduced but not completely eradicated.
Still, the men battled on....enduring any pain that sprung about on their feet and body.
Fidget himself was doing a whole lot better.
Not just physically, but also due to the fact that his weakness and problems had been almost completely eradicated.
A weird blink made Chris movements to slow down.
The ground where they walked on was not levelled.
Strange holes surrounded the environment.
Nothing short of worry spread through all their faces.
Large feet tracks that looked like they could belong a t-rex in prehistoric times.
Chris tried to contain his worry.
Something big roamed these parts, something unnatural.
A blade sprung out of its patch.
Chris was ready to fight if necessary.
He looked up...down, left...right.
No sign of anything.
The men dropped their worries and continued moving.
If the creature didn't show up then they would be fine to carry on.
Chris still held a straight face and looked up.
His ears twitched.
Loud stomps sounding as though they were approaching them.
Chris stopped again and looked behind him.
The stomps grew louder.
Each step seemed to throw them off balance.
Witnessing the size of the tracks they saw earlier and the large bite marks and punctures found on the body of animals made them understand that what they were heading for was not friendly.
The hill was about to give them another scare.
Once again, as always, the blade was extended.
Derek placed his laser piston between his palm while Boris held his dragonstorm machine gun with both hands.
All men were ready.
Fidget ran off to find someplace to hide.
A roar sounding so near to them made the men to startle.
It seemed possible to even smell the fear off the face of Boris.
All three men held their weapons waiting for the creature.
All signs showed that this might be one of the most dangerous fights known.
Stomp Stomp Stomp
The beast appeared behind them.
Large pointy scales came into view as the first thing noticed by Chris.
A large body covered by sharp-edged scales.
The beast drooled regularly.
Strange saliva that didn't look like anything natural.
Green coloured saliva and melting the layers of the ground where it drooled on.
That had to be acidic.
The beast appearance alone was terrifying.
The fact that it had acid saliva made matters worse.
Large feet followed next as the beast marched forward.
Claws as big as an aeroplane tire.
It felt impossible for these men to win.
"This has to be the greatest test we have ever faced", Derek looked at Boris and spoke.
The dragonstorm machine gun trembled in his hands.
He was absolutely terrified.
Chris on the other hand tried to keep a cold face staring into the eyes of the beast.
Witnessing that strange blue striped tiger and this large godzilla-like creature made Chris feel like the celestial order wasn't truly worth it.
Even with all the other people that stood beside him, they still didn't seem capable to take on such a beast.
They looked trembled.
Boris shivered even while holding a machine gun grenade launcher.
It didn't take long before matters became worse.
Another of that six-legged beast appeared behind them.
Same stature and same posture.
Now, the group stood between two of these beasts with nowhere to run.....but still, the creatures didn't seem to look at the group but instead each other.
They stared down like how all animals do before they fight.
Chris and his members were just getting in the way.
Still, they had to defend themselves.
All still kept their fighting stances.
Beasts like these usually fight for territory other than anything else.
Seeing the large landscape of land made the decision clear.
This had to be a territorial fight.
The beast on the right side of Chris stared down on them.
Its long neck made it look oddly similar to a giraffe.
A mutated.....transformed giraffe.
Just like in the case of the first creature fought by Chris, this beast had its resemblance with a natural wide animal.
The connections weren't much but they were obvious.
Finally, the beast marched towards each other after minutes of just staring at each other.
A tail swipe was then swung towards the group and unfortunately hit Boris sending him flying meters away.
Their tail's were also surrounded by hundreds of scales making the impact more deadly.
Derek didn't have time to check on him.
Neither did Chris.
A sudden movement could lead to their death.
Another tail swing followed next.....this time, it was by the beast on the left side.
It didn't hit any of them but instead landed on the sharp scaled body of the other beast.
Derek took charge of the operation firing lasers at will towards the animal.
Some got good contact, others didn't deal any damage.
The beasts strolled closer.
Each man trying to keep themselves from being melted by the acidic saliva or completely stepped on.
It became an all out brawl...fight for survival.
The beast on the right lowered it's head once more.
Woosh
A gush of wind followed next accompanied by a dozen of the acid saliva all aimed at Derek.
No dodging that, Derek instantly got blown away with clothes torn and his body possibly shattered.
Chris now stood in between two giant beast that finally stood a stone throw away from each other.
Their eyes clenched closer.
They both twisted their necks.
These beasts were ready to battle till death.
