We stood back in the Nexus, the warm feeling of the Festival World still lingering in our hearts. The golden door closed behind us, and I carefully placed the Heart of Blaze into my bag, joining the growing collection of elemental gems.
"Wow," Aiko exhaled, fanning herself playfully. "I still feel like I'm glowing. That place was literally too hot to handle, but you made it look so easy."
I laughed, adjusting my camera. "That's the best part, right? We go to dangerous places, but we turn them into happy places."
Hana purred loudly, rubbing against my leg. She looked satisfied, probably dreaming of all the festival food we had eaten.
I looked out at the infinite sea of doors floating in the starry void. Each one was a mystery, a new world waiting to be discovered. My eyes wandered until they stopped at one that looked particularly interesting.
It wasn't made of wood, or glass, or stone. It was made of polished brass, copper, and shining gold. It was covered in intricate gears, springs, and dials that ticked rhythmically. It looked like the front of a grand clock or an ancient engine. It hummed with a steady, powerful vibration—thrum, thrum, thrum—like a giant heartbeat.
"That one," I pointed, walking towards it. "It feels... solid. Reliable. But also very advanced."
"Technology realm?" Aiko guessed, walking beside me and looking at the gears with interest. "We've seen nature, magic, music, ice, fire... time for some science maybe?"
"Looks like it," I nodded. "Let's see what kind of world runs on gears and gold."

The camera turned on, and the chat was already exploding with excitement.
[ilikecatslol6767]: BRASS DOOR??? IT LOOKS SO STEAMPUNK??? I LOVE THIS AESTHETIC 🎩⚙️
[womanizer796901]: ROBOTS??? CARS??? FUTURE WORLD??? RIZU IS GONNA BE AN ENGINEER LMAO 🤖💡
[sigmafalcon]: NEW REALM JUST UNLOCKED LETS GOOOOO 🚀🚀
"Hello again, Minna-san!" I waved at the camera. "We just left the world of endless party, and now... we are heading somewhere much more precise and mechanical. Let's go check it out!"
I reached out and turned the large golden handle. The door opened with a satisfying clunk-click-whirr sound, and a ramp made of metal plates slid out for us to walk on.
We stepped through, and the sensation was different again. It felt solid, heavy, and stable.
When I opened my eyes, I gasped.
We were standing on a massive metal bridge, looking out over a city that stretched as far as the eye could see. But this wasn't a city of flesh and blood or magic.
This was a city built entirely by machines, for machines... and the people who lived with them.
Towering skyscrapers made of steel and glass, connected by railways and airships that floated gracefully through the sky. Huge water wheels and generators turned steadily, producing clean energy. The ground was paved with metal plates that clicked satisfyingly under our boots. And everywhere, there were gears turning, pistons pumping, and smoke stacks releasing harmless white steam into the clear blue sky.
"Whoa..." I breathed out, looking up at a massive airship passing directly overhead. It was beautiful, painted in gold and white colors. "Minna-san... look at this. It's like stepping into the future, but with a classic, vintage feel."
[ilikecatslol6767]: EVERYTHING IS SO SHINY AND GOLDEN??? IT LOOKS EXPENSIVE AF 😭🏦✨
[womanizer796901]: BRO IS IN STEAM-PUNK CITY LMAO WHERE ARE THE ROBOTS??? 🤖👀
"This realm is called Mechanica, the Golden Empire," I read the information appearing in my mind. "It says here that this world values logic, efficiency, and progress. They believe that anything can be achieved with enough knowledge and engineering. And the people here... they live in perfect harmony with their machines."
Just as I finished speaking, a small, round drone floated down to us. It had a friendly blue light for an eye and a little speaker.
'Greetings, visitors,' the drone beeped in a cheerful robotic voice. 'Welcome to Mechanica. Please state your purpose.'
"We are travelers," I smiled, waving at the drone. "We came to see your beautiful world."
The drone beeped happily. 'Understood. Please enjoy your stay. Warning: Please do not touch the high-voltage cables. Thank you.'
[womanizer796901]: THAT DRONE IS SO CUTE??? I WANT ONE 🥺🥺
[ilikecatslol6767]: MECHANICA LOOKS SO ORGANIZED I LOVE IT
We started walking through the streets. It was amazing. The people here looked like normal humans, but they wore amazing goggles, coats, and accessories. And walking right beside them were robots of all shapes and sizes—some looked like metal dogs, some looked like knights, some looked like floating tools.
Hana was fascinated. She sat down and started staring at a passing robot vacuum cleaner that was cleaning the street, tilting her head in confusion.
"It's okay, Hana," I laughed. "That's just their cleaner."
But as we walked deeper towards the center of the city, where the Grand Tower stood, things started to look... wrong.
The beautiful gold color started to fade into rust. The smooth metal walls became covered in scratches and dark oil. The cheerful humming of the machines turned into a loud, grinding CLANK-CLANK-CLANK noise that sounded painful to hear.
And the robots... they changed too.
Their friendly blue lights turned red. Their movements became stiff and aggressive. They started surrounding us, blocking the path.
"Warning," their voices turned deep and robotic. 'Intruders detected. Eliminate.'
[ilikecatslol6767]: OH NO THEY TURNED EVIL??? WHAT HAPPENED??? 🤖😡
[womanizer796901]: SYSTEM ERROR??? VIRUS??? HACKED??? 💻⚠️
"Aiko, look out!" I shouted.
The robots attacked. They didn't use lasers this time; they used physical force. Giant metal fists came swinging, chains whipped out, and hydraulic presses tried to crush us.
"Whoa!" I jumped back, summoning a barrier of wind. CLANG! The metal fists hit the wind shield and bounced off, sparks flying everywhere.
"They are strong!" Aiko said, firing her weapon at the joints of the robots to disable them. "Their armor is thick!"
"I know!" I looked around. The city was beautiful, but something was corrupting its core. "We have to get to the main engine. Something is forcing them to attack us!"
"Let's run!"
We fought our way through the streets. I used the Heart of Nature to grow vines that wrapped around the robots and held them still, not hurting them, just stopping them. Aiko used her speed to dodge and disarm.
Finally, we reached the main tower. We burst through the huge metal doors into the Control Room.
And what we saw shocked us.
In the center of the room was the Core of the world, a massive engine glowing with bright golden energy. It was supposed to be running smoothly. But right now, it was being forced. Wires and tubes were connected to it, pumping in dark, purple energy.
And standing there, in front of the machine, was a figure.
It was a man, but he was half machine. His body was covered in advanced cybernetics, his eyes glowing with red light. He was typing furiously on a keyboard made of light, forcing the machine to go faster and faster.
"STOP!" I shouted. "You'll break it! You'll cause an explosion!"
The man turned around slowly. He smiled, but it was a cold, mechanical smile.
"Ah... the Guardian arrives," his voice sounded like speakers crackling. "I am Professor Volt. And I am perfecting this world. It was too slow. Too inefficient. I am maximizing the output! Soon, this engine will have enough power to connect to all other realms! I will be the ruler of infinite energy!"
"You aren't perfecting it!" I argued, stepping forward. "You are abusing it! Look at the robots! They are scared! They are hurting people! Machines are supposed to help, not hurt!"
"Sentiment is error," Volt sneered. "Emotion is bug. I have removed all weakness. Now... only logic remains. And my logic says... you are in my way."
He raised his hand, and the entire room transformed. The walls opened up, revealing cannons and weapons.
[ilikecatslol6767]: OH SHIT HE IS THE MAD SCIENTIST TROPE??? I LOVE IT ⚡️🧪
[womanizer796901]: BEAT HIS ASS RIZU!!! SHOW HIM THAT HEART > BRAIN 🧠❤️
"Attack!" Volt commanded.
Hundreds of laser beams and missiles came at us from every direction.
I didn't panic. I closed my eyes and reached inside.
Logic. Precision. Control.
I summoned the Primordial Emblem, but I shaped the energy differently. I didn't make a storm. I made a circuit.
I raised my hands, and golden energy flowed out like electricity, connecting everything.
ZAP!
I didn't block the lasers. I redirected them. I used the Gem of Truth to see the pathways, and the Harmony Gem to tune the frequency. Every shot that came at me was bent around me and reflected back at the weapons systems, destroying them safely.
"What?!" Volt's eyes widened. "You can manipulate energy flow?!"
"Everything in the universe follows patterns," I said, walking forward step by step through the rain of fire. "Even machines. And I am the master of the pattern."
I reached the core machine. I placed my hand on it.
'I am fixing you,' I whispered to it.
I poured my pure white energy into the system.
REBOOT.
The red lights turned green. The grinding noise stopped and turned into a smooth, happy hum again. The dark wires corroded and fell off. The core shone brighter than ever, cleaning the entire room in an instant.
Volt fell to his knees, his mechanical systems shutting down gently as the corruption left them.
"It... runs better?" he whispered, confused. "Without force? Without pressure?"
"Yes," I smiled, standing next to him. "Sometimes, to make something work perfectly, you don't push it harder. You just... oil it. You take care of it. Kindness is the best program of all."
Volt looked at his hands, then at me. The red glow in his eyes faded, returning to normal human color.
"I... I see now," he said softly. "I was so obsessed with efficiency, I forgot about harmony. Thank you for fixing... both the machine... and me."
The danger was over.
The core stabilized, and from it, a new gem separated itself. It was golden, shaped like a gear and a star combined.
'The Core of Logic,' the voice echoed. 'With this, you shall understand all mechanisms, speak all languages of data, and never be lost.'
I took the gem. It felt cool, precise, and incredibly powerful.
Professor Volt walked up to us, looking much more relaxed and friendly now. He scratched the back of his head.
"Sorry about trying to kill you guys earlier," he said awkwardly. "As an apology... want a tour of the factory? We make the best chocolate bars powered by steam energy."
[ilikecatslol6767]: STEAM CHOCOLATE??? OMFG YESSSS 🍫🍫🔥
[womanizer796901]: HE IS REDEEMED!!! NEW FRIEND UNLOCKED 🤝🤝
We spent the rest of the day in Mechanica. Volt showed us how the airships worked, let us drive a small robotic car, and we ate the most delicious mechanical snacks ever. Hana even got a little metallic collar bell that made ding sounds when she walked.
Eventually, it was time to leave. We stood at the exit door, waving goodbye to Volt and all the friendly robots.
"That was awesome," Aiko said as we stepped back into the Nexus. "I learned so much about engineering today."
"Me too," I grinned, looking at the six gems I now possessed. "We are getting so strong. We understand nature, time, water, wind, fire, music, truth... and now machines."
I looked at the endless doors again.
"There is still so much out there."
"Ready for the next one?"
"Always."
