After finishing his training,he went back to the dorm to prepare. Hours later,he heads back to the hall where he took the first test and waits, being the first person to arrive. Different people came by and to wait for the test till it was time to begin.
As usual, the student council attended the second test too mostly to see how Ed would overcome.
"... unlike the first test, there might be nobody who would fail. At the same time, there might be no one who would pass"
Ed stood silently by a corner of the hall while resting his back on a pillar. Shortly after,a supervisor arrived to conduct the second test.
"Now, the second test is to fight a match with your doppelganger,a being with your exact properties and character. If you can survive 30 minutes,you would pass the second test and the entrance exam for the academy. Although there's a third test"
Ed sighed after hearing he had to fight his doppelganger, something that was him in spirit form. After all, He knew the one weakness that he had and would use it to win. Raising his hand,he volunteered to start the test.
"Oh..."
Ed walked into a pocket dimension where the test would be held. In less than ten seconds,ed walked out of the dimension,with the ticket he was supposed to collect from the doppelganger in his hands
"Whoa...."
The crowd jumps in excitement at his speed, being the fastest in the school's record. Ed climbs down from the podium and walks out of the hall. While he leaves, the girl from earlier this morning runs to him
"Um..."
Ed turns to her
"Hey there..."
"Um... how did you pass the test"
"It's a trade secret..."
"Can I pay?"
Ed looks clearly at the girl in front of him and saw a striking resemblance on her face
"Wait...do I know you?"
"Oh,my cousin's name is xing, she's your fiance"
"Oh!...I guess I can tell you"
Ed tells her about the secret he used to pass the test while others went forward to take it. By the end of the test, only 469 people excluding xing's cousin and Ed passed the test and were successfully admitted into the academy. From the mage department 1029 people passed the test including Sally.
According to xing's cousin,xing won't be coming to the academy because of her father's condition and won't be able to see him again.
Ed relaxed in his dorm while Melissa arranged the room. From his view,her face was tired and weak but she didn't complain one bit, working away till she couldn't stand anymore
When she fell dizzy, Ed carried her and laid her on the bed while he continued the work. When he finished,he rushed to get meds for her and ran into Sally on the way
"Hey there..."
"Big bro, where to?"
"I need meds for Melissa... she's not feeling too good"
As they were about to walk past each other,ed turns and asked a question.
"By the way,why did you want to come to this academy—"
"Sorry... I'm sorry but I can't tell you now"
"Oh, it's okay... I'm sure it's worth it"
Ed waves her and runs off. Later that day after taking care of Melissa,he decided to walk around the academy to familiarize himself with his surroundings till it was time to eat.
"This is odd,no message from the system—"

"Increase my luck?... finally"
Ed leaps from building to building till he got to the top of a tower. He sits on the building and brings out the human path from his pocket and reads it while practicing the Mana steps in it. Unlike others,his proficiency with Mana isn't like others where he could use it freely.
After about an hour, Sally came looking for him in the dorms but met Melissa inside preparing a meal. Sally asks of Ed's whereabouts while waiting for him.
"Ma'am, the young master isn't here yet, you should eat a little before going"
"No, don't mind me..."
As Sally stands up to go, Melissa raises a question.
"Ma'am,why didn't you tell the young master about your relationship with him, you still didn't tell him about the reason you came to this school"
"What do I say.... I don't know how to tell him, and it's best if he didn't find out about me being his biological sister."
Sally mumbled so that no one would hear from the outside
"Still, it's shocking the young master didn't realize"
While they were talking,ed walked in, looking tired. He had been training for over an hour while trying to increase his proficiency in magic. As he runs into Sally, she hurried out of the room and ran back to her dorm without saying anything to Ed
"Whoa... what's wrong with her"
Melissa set the table while Ed goes to shower. When he comes back, Melissa had left leaving only him in the house
"What's with them today..."

The next day at four am, Ed wakes up and begins his daily exercise to start his day. By the time it was 5 am,he had completed his daily routine and switched to jogging. He runs into xing's cousin again who sat at the bench reading a book .
"Um..."
"Xia, that's my name"
"Oh xia... why are you always here early, reading books and not training"
"Me?..."
She smiles without saying a word leaving Ed hanging. Ed sighed and runs off after waving her goodbye. She did have a reason she always sat there but couldn't tell it to him
Time for the entrance ceremony approached and Ed dressed and went to the hall where the ceremony would take place. When he got in,he runs into a guy with blonde hair and an aura of nobility to him. When he saw Ed,he echoed his words through the hall
"Yo first place..."
