The room turned silent as everyone began to eat their food.
Roland had brought the rest of their breakfast to the table and was now sitting down as he removed his apron before folding it over his knee.
The table was now almost full as everyone dug into their food while the bright morning light of the day crept into the house through the window.
But while everyone was preoccupied with their meal, Lily walked into the room with her hair still damp.
Lily was twenty years old and she had a similar colour of hair and eyes as her mother, Mara.
She greeted everyone before dropping into her chair.
Then she pulled her bowl toward her and noticed Jason had finished his food already.
Then she smirked knowingly as she muttered. "Today is the day huh."
"Yep, today is the day." Jason agreed.
"You ready for today?"
"Yeah, I am." Jason replied honestly.
If he hadn't regained his memories before today and if he hadn't obtained his streaming system this morning, Jason would have probably been worried or scared like any normal child his age, but since the system was by his side, he felt a bit confident in awakening his class today.
"That's good Jason. It's good to always feel positive at times like this." Cora added as she listened to their conversation.
She continued eating her meal and Jason replied with a smile and a nod.
Just like Mara and Seline, Cora cared about their children equally, that's why she works really hard as a primary school teacher in Mossveil Town.
Mossveil Town was the name of the town they were in, and it was where all three ladies were currently working as well.
Lily, on the other hand, works outside of town.
She's currently working in Jade City's textile district, so she's earning a decent amount of money to take care of herself in the big city.
Had Lily awakened a class, Jason was certain she would have been super rich by now.
They might not even be living in the small house they were in right now, but since she couldn't awaken a class, there was nothing any of them could do about it.
Realising this, Jason couldn't help but wonder what type of class he would be awakening in the temple later today.
If it was a combat class, he knew his life would be changed forever, and his family might even be able to live comfortably for once without having to worry about rent, expenses and several other things.
But if he were to not awaken anything like Lily and his parents, he doubted he would be able to live the comfortable and happy life he had always wanted.
Yes, he was handsome and he might definitely attract a lot of women but in the end, what really mattered the most was ether.
Awakening a class means that you awakened ether.
And if a man awakens ether, only a life full of relaxation and luxury would follow.
Acknowledging this fact, Jason sighed softly but his father heard it and called out to him in a worried tone. "Son, it's okay to be afraid of what your fate might be from now on, but as always, I want you to know that nothing would ever stop us from loving you regardless of what class you awaken later today, okay?" Roland tried his best to give his son a good pep talk, hoping it would be more than enough to keep the young boy from feeling too pressured about his awakening ceremony happening today.
Jason knew this as well, so he smiled and thanked his father.
Yep, it might be weird to see males acting so soft and different from the strong, masculine men he had seen in his previous world, but nothing would ever change the fact that Roland was still his father, and right now, he wouldn't want him any other way.
And so, with nothing else keeping him from getting ready, Jason left the dining room to bathe and get dressed.
In half an hour, everyone was dressed and ready to leave.
********
Time passed and everyone arrived at their destination.
The awakening ceremony was taking place in Mossveil, which was a countryside town, and upon arriving at the awakening temple, Jason noticed how the ceremony hall wasn't a large building.
It was simply a single-story stone structure near the center of town and it had rows of benches along the walls with a raised platform at the far end of the hall, and in the middle of the platform, there was a monolith which was about the chest level of a full grown man.
The monolith was black and smooth with countless markings and writings inscribed on its surface.
Jason and his family had arrived forty minutes before the scheduled time yet the hall was already half full when they got there.
Other families from Mossveil had arrived a bit earlier than them because their children had already turned eighteen in the past few months.
So, they had been waiting for this moment which only happened once every three months.
Jason looked around at the children about to carry out their awakening just like him, and he could see some of his old classmates from school, with each of them waving at him the moment they made eye contact.
Meanwhile, around the edges of the room, Jason could see a couple of women dressed in black suits and wearing sunglasses.
Each of them were agents representing their respective guilds.
Their role was simple, it was to take note of any potential awakened children before offering them a chance to apply to their respective guild.
Jason sighed softly as he watched some of the agents already typing a few words on their tablets just by looking at a few children in front of them.
These people were not here to joke.
They were serious about recruiting the best of the best and it was like a race against each other to get any talented protégé to enroll into their guild.
Jason glanced around once again before noticing a woman approaching the front of the room as she gathered everyone's attention toward her.
