"What type of class did you awaken?" Jason's little sister, Pip, asked and everyone turned silent as they faced him.
"Pet Tamer." Jason replied but Pip asked once again with a puzzled look on her face.
"Pet Tamer? What is that?"
"I think it's similar to Beast Tamer, right?" Eli asked as he waited for Jason to confirm his assumption.
"In a way, yes, but Beast Tamers are suited more for combat than Pet Tamers." Jason replied before explaining a few other things about the class.
After a while, everyone finally got the gist of what the class was and what Pet Tamers could do.
And the moment Jason was done talking, Cora softly uttered her thoughts. "Well, I think it's a really cool class regardless of the fact you might not be entering gates and Towers."
"Yeah, I agree." Seline muttered. "Having a combat class is good and all but there's been a report recently of how hunters aren't coming back from low tier gates and Towers. It's almost like these tiers have become a lot harder to clear than before, so I'd like it if you're as far away from that as possible. After all, your safety comes first before anything else."
"I understand, Aunt Seline. Thank you."
"So, what's next?" Lily, his big sister, asked and Jason sighed softly before replying.
"Well, I got recruited by an agent working for the guild so she wants me to come over to have an orientation of the guild before deciding on whether to join the guild officially or not."
"And when would this orientation be happening?" Mara asked as her brows slowly creased, knowing what his response was going to be.
"Tomorrow, but since she's heading back to Jade City today, she wants us to leave together."
"What? You're leaving today?" Roland asked worriedly.
"I hope to." Jason replied but Roland stared at his first wife, hoping she would be able to say something about what their son had just said.
However, Mara remained quiet for now, and instead, Seline asked Jason a question. "Your agent, where is she right now?"
"She's inside the awakening hall, trying to see if she can find any other Pet Tamers before the ceremony ends." Jason explained and Cora stated matter-of-factly.
"I guess that means we'll need to have a few words with her before agreeing to let you leave with her."
Cora glanced over at Mara, Seline and Roland, and all three nodded their heads in response as they recognised how important this matter was, since Jason was technically the first ever awakened person in the Winchester household, so it only made sense for them to ensure that their son would be kept or entrusted in the hands of someone they could easily have access to.
Meanwhile, Mara glanced over at her son before walking over to place a hand on his shoulder. "Jason, are you really sure about this?"
Being a very hardworking woman who works in a textile industry, Mara had involved herself in businesses outside of Mossveil Town, so she'd heard a thing or two about Pet Tamers and how hard it is for them to find work consistently.
But she also knows how well they earn, especially those who had gained a significant amount of experience in the job, hence why she wanted to be certain if her son had made his choice or not.
"Yes, mom. I'm sure." Jason assured her and Mara nodded with a smile before pulling her son into her embrace.
Time passed and as agreed, Jason's parents met up with Rachel to discuss a couple of things before Jason could depart today.
Feeling satisfied with the outcome, all parties accepted the go-ahead to have Jason leave Mossveil Town today.
Now, it was afternoon and Jason could be seen packing his bags in his room.
His room was not large and his bag did not take long to get filled, but he swiftly packed whatever he needed while Eli came to help with whatever he could.
As for his cute little sister, Pip, the little girl visited him three times within the span of half an hour.
The first time she handed him a cute drawing she had done of him fighting a monster with what appeared to be a very large and heroic-looking cat beside him.
The second time she visited was to ask Jason if he would have enough time to remember her birthday and to come home for a visit during her birthday.
And the third time she came, the little girl simply hurried over to give her big brother a hug before Cora arrived to do the same, then she carried her little girl and both left Jason's room.
Jason placed Pip's cute drawing in his bag before texting his father, Roland, from his room as he walked downstairs to take his leave.
Noticing the text on his phone, Roland hurried out from wherever he was before asking. "You're leaving already?"
"Yeah."
"Come here." Roland hugged his son tightly and muttered softly. "There's extra food in the bag on the kitchen counter, so try not to leave without it, okay?"
"Okay."
"And try to text your mother and Aunt Seline the moment you leave the house too, okay?"
"I will." Jason nodded before giving his little brother a hug and his big sister as well.
Mara and Seline weren't at home right now because both of them had gone to work already, but Jason had made a mental note to text both ladies the moment he left the house.
"Goodbye, everyone."
And so, Jason stepped out of the house as he waved goodbye to Roland, Cora, Lily, Eli and Pip.
*******
Time passed and he had finally arrived at the train station with Rachel by his side.
The two stepped into the train before taking a seat close to the window.
Now, Jason sat down and watched the town he had grown up in sliding past the glass window as the train began to move.
He could see the market street, the school building, the residential blocks along with their small yards, and he could see the vegetable yards and open fields beyond the edge of town.
Until now, Jason had never left the small town called Mossveil.
It was his first time heading over to Jade City, which was a significantly bigger city than Mossveil Town.
