Jessica's POV
I couldn't forget a single moment I had spent with him.
Every late-night conversation. Every laugh. Every small thing—it all stayed.
Even though… I was the only one who truly cared.
As the days passed, the truth slowly started revealing itself.
He was talking to his ex again.
And not just her… that college girl too.
I tried to ignore it at first. Tried to tell myself I was overthinking.
But one day—
I found out the truth.
He went back to his ex.
They were in a relationship again.
For a moment, it felt like my mind just… stopped working.
Nothing made sense.
I didn't know what to feel.
What to think.
What to do.
It was like everything inside me collapsed at once.
Then one day, after almost one and a half months—
I saw him.
I was just walking… and by chance, Neim and Johnathan were coming from the opposite side.
We met.
After so long.
For a split second, our eyes almost met.
And my heart—
It broke all over again.
But this time…
I didn't stop.
I didn't smile.
I didn't even react.
I just looked at him—
And walked past him.
Like he was no one.
Like nothing had ever happened between us.
Like two strangers crossing paths.
I could feel it—
He didn't expect that.
Not from me.
Because it was the first time…
I ignored him.
Completely.
A few steps later, I heard a voice behind me.
"Hey Jess! Where are you going? Didn't you notice us?"
It was Neim.
I turned back slightly, keeping my face calm.
"I noticed you," I said. "Not others. I have to go now. We'll talk later."
And then I left.
Without looking back.
After about half an hour, Neim called me.
"Hey, what happened to you? Why were you being so rude?"
"Rude?" I replied. "How? I just spoke normally. What happened?"
Neim hesitated for a second, then said,
"Johnathan was asking me… why you behaved like that. He couldn't understand."
I stayed quiet for a moment.
Then I said, coldly—
"Tell him… I don't know any Johnathan."
A small pause.
"I only know you."
And after saying that—
I cut the call.
After that day, Neim kept calling me again and again.
At first, I didn't pick up.
I didn't want to talk to anyone.
But in the end… I did.
"Jess… what's going on between you two?" he asked softly. "Can you tell me?"
And that was it.
I couldn't hold it in anymore.
I just… broke down.
I cried.
And cried.
For almost two hours straight.
I told him everything—every moment, every feeling, everything that happened between me and Johnathan. How I stayed, how I tried… and how he left like it was nothing.
Neim kept consoling me.
"Don't cry for a boy like him," he said.
But it wasn't that simple.
My heart didn't listen.
It was already broken.
Before hanging up, he told me, "I'll keep updating you about him, okay?"
I didn't say much.
After that, I blocked Johnathan from Facebook… Instagram… everywhere.
I thought that would help.
It didn't.
Two days later, Neim told me—
"They broke up."
My heart reacted before my mind could stop it.
Without thinking much, I texted him on WhatsApp.
"Hey… what's up?"
He replied almost immediately.
"Nothing much. What about you?"
Then he added,
"You don't know me, don't you? You blocked me from everywhere."
I paused… then replied,
"I knew you before. But not this you."
"And you got back with your ex… and didn't even tell me anything?"
He replied,
"It wasn't planned. It just happened for a reason. She told me she still loves me… even my mother met her and hugged her. I thought I should give her another chance. But she was acting weird."
I kept reading.
"I knew she liked someone else. Mat—our coaching classmate, the one who liked you—he proposed to her. She started acting like she's in demand. So I decided to break up with her and see what she'd do. And she did exactly what I thought. Now she's with him."
I just typed—
"Oh… so much happened. So what now?"
"Don't know," he replied.
I took a deep breath.
Tried to calm myself.
Tried to be strong… one last time.
"Look," I wrote, "I know it's been hard for you. But she doesn't deserve your love. She's just using you. Please… forget about her."
My hands were shaking.
"And… I still love you. I'm always there for you. Can you… consider me? Give it a try?"
There was a pause.
Then he replied—
"You started again?"
"Can't you understand now that I'm not yours?"
That message—
It felt like something hit me straight in my chest.
Hard.
How stupid am I…?
He should've been the one fixing things.
But here I was—
Still trying.
Still begging for something that was never mine.
Tears rolled down my face before I even realized.
"I'll be waiting for you," I typed.
Even after everything.
He replied,
"Please don't wait for me. Please understand… I'm not yours."
And that was it.
I blocked him again.
That night—
I couldn't sleep.
Just like so many nights before.
I don't even know how many nights I stayed awake, crying silently, staring at nothing.
Everything felt empty.
Messy.
Broken.
My life didn't feel like mine anymore.
