Chapter 28 - Memory

"Dad, when I grow up, I want to be a sister!"

"Oh yeah? What kind of sister do you want to be?"

"A strong one, so she won't cry! And a kind one, so she won't cry!"

"Good girl! Will you share your food with her?"

"No! Dad can share his to the baby!"

"Oh, no, Dad can't, because he needs to eat to protect you both.'

"How about Mom?"

"She is also taking care of you, so she needs to eat."

"Then I don't want to be a sister anymore!"

"You sly kid! Come hug Papa."

"Huuuuug!"

"By the way, if you happen to have a sister, what will be her name?"

"Name? I am Adelaide, so she will be Astrid!"

"Gah?! What a lame naming sense!"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

A gentle breeze woke her up, as the windown up in her room opened.

"Why are you here?"

"I thought you were going to ditch me."

"The Queen doesn't lie."

"I know, but I was tired of waiting."

Adelaide then stood up from her desk to get a set of makeup.

"How were you able to get here?"

Kruger walked inside the room as he took a seat at the sofa in the middle of the room.

"I kindly asked you subordinates."

Turning around, confusion was painted in Adelaide's face.

"They believed you?"

Kruger scratched his head and smiled.

"No, that's why I took an hour to get here."

Adelaide's face turned into a frown.

"The whole thing that happened was an hour ago. Are you that impatient to be with me?"

Kruger laughed and answered.

"Who doesn't want a date with a woman like you?"

Adelaide sighed as she took a bag of makeups.

"I was going to say that you can pick the place, but that idea just went out of my mind."

Kruger, hearing this, sighed and raised his arms in surrender.

A moment of silence fell down the room as Adelaide opened the bag of make up.

"Do you really need that?"

Kruger asked.

"Yes, because if we were to be seen with each other, with my beauty, it will look like I am walking my pet around."

Adelaide retorted.

"You won't be needing that anyway."

Kruger said solemnly.

"Huh? Are you just gonna force yourself to me in my very room?"

Adelaide raised her brow.

Kruger, hearing this, sighed and looked up on the ceiling.

A moment later, he started to give a monologue.

"You know, you were the only one that has a strange background."

"A powerhouse, that us, the leaders here, have no idea where appeared, or came from. You were like a mushroom that suddenly sprouted."

"Upon observing earlier, that kid is nothing to you. Powerless, imbecile to add, but he has a certain degree of control over your life."

He then turned to Adelaide, who was now on her brows, has finished her foundation and lashes.

"It was the first time I am learning about you."

"Gross."

"What? I gave a speech, and you just say gross?"

"Yeah, gross."

"Look, in a relationship, it is just right to know your partner. It's what they call "getting to know each other"."

"I'm not even your partner."

"Yeah, but who knows, we will be. Soon."

"Gross."

Kruger was stopped all of a sudden. All his energy flowed out, and he looked stunned.

Seeing this, Adelaide looked at him, her eyes, brows and lashes accentuated her simpleness, but her beauty was not overwhelmed.

If they say that make up is addition to the beauty of the one who wears it, Adelaide breaks it as her make up multiplies her beauty.

"Hello? Are you that smitten to me now?"

"Yeah."

Kruger swallowed his saliva and nodded.

Adelaide laughed, which sent another arrow towards Kruger's heart.

"So, where to, Mr. Gross?"

After fixing her make up kit, her melodious voice sounded.

From the smitten one, Kruger can't help but be lovestruck. He then proceeded to slap himself once to calm down.

"It's illegal to be that beautiful."

"Too bad, no one can arrest me."

Kruger laughed as Adelaide asked again.

"Where will we go?"

Kruger, now clear-headed this time, stood up.

"Well, daydreaming was a hobby of mine."

He walked towards the desk and proceeded to stretch out his hand for Adelaide to use as support to stand up.

"And never in my life did I ever daydreamed that tears started flowing from my eyes."

Kruger then led Adelaide to the door of the room.

"Here's my date idea, O, beautiful one."

He then opened the door of the room and outside, were the maids, waiting in line.

"What's this?"

Confusion colored her face as she saw her subordinates' strange behavior.

"Even if we go on a date, you will be thinking of something else."

Kruger then stepped out of the room and walked out, smiling at every subordinate, lined up, bowing and saluting Adelaide.

"So, why don't we go to the place you want the most?"

Saying this, Kruger entered the door of another room.

There, a man can be seen, laying down a green block, his body is almost consumed by it, but there is a thin liquid protecting him, while it heals him.

It was like he is stuck in a slime bed, and it is trying to eat him.

"Sometimes, communication is the key."

He then walked towards Zypher, who was now awake.

"Where..?"

"Hey, we will be the ones asking questions here."

Zypher, seeing this, was a bit confused, but he nodded nevertheless.

"So, what did you do to make my woman cry?"

Hearing this, a punch flew towards Kruger in a fast manner, hitting his chin cleanly, knocking him out.

"The date ends here. Send him out."

Adelaide said as she took a seat on one of the sofas in the room.

Seeing that Zypher is still out of it, she sat down and reminisced.

The last memory of her with her father.

And the last moment of her with her hero.
