Chapter 21 - Class

Classes are divided into five - Fighters, Supports, Tanks, Assassins and Mages.

These five categories speaks of what they can do.

Fighters fight, with weapons or bare fist, or sometimes, with just their power.

Mages fight with magic, while supports help them.

Assassins deal high damages, while tanks soak high damages.

This composition is always needed for a team of five. This is also why Zypher was unable to fight back in front of Derby's team.

The balance is not that good, but the variety of attacks, and the defenses pushed him to unfavorable battle, resulting in his defeat.

These classes are what makes the game fun.

And there are so many combinations, that even other players started to mix and match, and created new classes.

But, despite that, only seven people stood at the top of food chain.

These seven people, in his past life, became almost gods, and he, is one of them.

The Devourer, Zypher Miracle.

His title, in his past life, was made because he consumed others' techniques, and incorporated it in his.

This sudden change in the middle of the battlefield made him feared, as fighters, often see it as defeat when one knows the intricacies of their techniques.

And it crushes their hearts when they see someone doing their techniques better than them, worst is they see an enemy doing it better than them.

Knowing that he can use the said Devourer once per day gives Zypher a sense of relief. He has a lifeline when the time comes, but always relying on it can give him a false power, making him weaker.

And so, Zypher decided to take this new step.

He scratched all of the ideas in his head, and came to this small preliminary school.

This is not a good school, because he knows the notoriety of the said place, but he has no choice for now, for he has to finish all his quests.

"A 3-Star Lesson, please."

"That will be 30 Gold."

"Here."

He took out a pocketful of coins, and gave it to the counter.

The lady then counted it, and she was done, she took out a blue card from her desk.

"Payment completed Sir. You can now proceed to the third floor.

The building, although shabby, has four floors in total, but the fourth is used for the teachers and principal of the said preliminary school.

It was called so because the tuition is low, but the quality of teachings is also low. These lessons covers up only the basics of the class, and not the deep ones.

But Zypher's goal is not the lesson, but the freebie he can get.

As he entered the room, he saw that the seats are almost all empty, except for a few players that are committed to the class.

One of them is a girl named Irene, who plays with a teddy bear doll. Her bluish hair made her look like a doll herself.

The other one is a man with a dark hood and is so silent, while the last one is a boy with a headphones and a metal mask.

'How weird.'

Taking his seat, he took note of each and every one inside the room.

BANG!

The door on the other end of the room opened, and a woman came in all of a sudden.

Behind her, is a long line of goblins that carries her long cape.

Her cape, was so thick and Zypher knows how heavy this is, yet, to carry it, she has to let the goblins carry the weight so it doesn't get dragged on the floor.

This made her posture looked like she is looking up the ceiling, and her body is bent in an unattural bend.

Her sharp edged eyeglasses, her short bobcut hair, and the the unnatural chubbiness invites mocking, but her aura is not something to be despised.

"Good morning, I am Ellen Myer, a third Class-change professor of the Summoner Preliminary School."

The four of them stood up, bowed down and greeted back.

"Good morning, Mrs. Myer."

Seeing the politeness of the four, Ellen nodded in satisfaction.

As a level 90 Native, she is already known as a powerhouse, and her power cannot be underestimated, just her obsession towards thick and heavy capes.

She then unbuttoned her cape, which just highlighted her strange posture.

Taking a chalk, she created a symbol in the blackboard.

"What do you think is this?"

The hooded guy raised his hand upon hearing the question.

"A rune."

"Correct."

She then wrote a few more characters beside the first rune.

"Now, this is a Runic Expression."

Then, she wrote some runes and decided to put them in a circle.

Suddenly, all of the runes, and the circle, and even the runes outside the circle, glowed.

"Now this, is a magic circle."

She then created the same circle from her energy, and when mana flowed into it, it suddenly faded, but a strong gust of wind flowed into the room, almost knocking all the empty chairs towards the back of the room.

Seeing this, the other's did not even bat an eye, and so, Ellen was a bit shocked.

Normally, these presentation will make people clap in anticipation, but these people did not do anything.

"Ehem, are there any questions?"

She cleared her throat to calm her embarassment, but the goblins under her cape laughed, so she unsummoned them.

Zypher raised his hand, so Ellen called her.

Being called upon, he stood up and asked.

"Ma'am, how many types of summons are there?"

Ellen's eyes sparked. This is a good student, because he asked an important question.

She then wrote five runes on the board.

"These are the five main runes of summoning: Dark, Servant, Spirit, Golem and the latest discovery - Modular."

She then summoned five summons, each of different stature, using the five runes.

From right to left, this is the ones that were summoned: a vampire, an elf archer, a water octopus, an earth golem, and the last one is a mechanical suit that is autonomous.

Zypher's eyes shone, his lips curled into a smile. This is what he was waiting for.
