"Huff..huff..huff.."
Panting sounds were heard as he ran to the forest.
Seeing the hole before him, he dove in head first, but what he didn't expect is that very move created a lapse, and he was hit by a spear.
"ARGHH!"
Although he managed to fit himself inside the hole, his body was currently going through a massive squish.
The elements in his surroundings is like a kaleidoscope that changes everytime, and his vision, blurry from the sudden impact.
"He's here!"
He heard a noise, but his body won't move at all.
His brain is giving him warning signals, and his body is too tired from running.
As he choked on his own breath, a hand suddenly grabbed him from the back.
Going back to an hour ago, after the massive update of the game, there were things that were added, and there were also things that were removed.
Zypher, entering the game, was shocked by the atmosphere.
Ruintown, is now filled with players brimming with joy and confidence. Emotions filled up the air as the new System of the game was added: the 100 Quests of a Hero.
Basically, it just wants the players to be guided for the first parts of the game, and give them a massive boost.
Zypher, entering the game, was shown the same screen, but, his quests were limited.
By the Black Chain - Absolute Weakling, he cannot level up, which was one of those quests, and by the Gray Chain - Ever Doubtful, he can not equip items.
This then, compressed his quests into 10, which are, the checkpoints of each ten quests.
And the first quest he has to do, is to have a Class, a Sub-Class and a Profession.
Profession, as discussed, is divided into three: Manpower, Price and Resources.
Manpower, is from people who uses power, might and even their knowledge to push through the game. Examples of it are Explorers and Adventurers.
Price, is from people who uses trade and charter system, which are Merchants and Traders.
And the last one, Resources, are people who gather raw materials, such as Farmers and Miners.
All of them, are professions of the game.
There are many professions under them, but they are the main umbrellas of it.
Sub-Class, on the other hand, are the "makers" of the game.
Items and equipments are needed by every player, and also, the money to continue playing.
They may be from other players, or the Natives, but as long as it "makes" something, it is a Sub-Class.
And there are the Classes, which are the main attraction of the game.
Each class has a unique set of skills, and even with two players having the same class, they have different skills based on their playstyles, and sets.
But that's a story for another time.
Zypher, looking at the ten quests, looked grim as he understood what these quests are.
Basically, it is the quests that gives one a massive boost, not only to their stats, but also, to their playstyle.
In his past life, Zypher also took the 100 Quests of a Hero, and after that, he met the conditions to get a Legendary Class.
That Legendary Class became the reason why Zypher has an odd list of Skills, and masteries in this life.
But now, compressing it to ten makes him not follow the events of his past life.
He can do it, if he wanted, but who in their right mind will take a Level 0 to a dungeon.
And, he can't even choose a fighter class.
It means he is stuck at support, or other classes such as Shaman or Minion, which are the most useless of all the Classes.
And, picking a class is the most important thing in the game, which, most of the times, helps players to uncover the potential inside of them.
Zypher, already has a profession, albeit it is a bad profession.
The Adventurer.
This profession may be loved by many, but the commision is so low, that others find it unbearable and quit when they are earning much apart from it.
But, as a returner, Zypher chose this one because he knew something that others couldn't.
Before the update, this was his goal all along, and so, he has to do it now, and reap all his benefits later.
Walking to edge of Ruintown, stands a shabby house.
It was like a tent that was put up, and it almost looked like trash, but the true value of it is not what can be seen by the naked eye.
Krriiiing!
The chimes echoed as Zypher opened the door.
There, at the counter, is an old woman, in a black hood.
The place looked so old that every nook and cranny is filled with dust. The counter has soot on it, and even the hat of the woman is covered in it.
"Good morning, Ma'am." He started as he entered the facility.
The woman, opened one of her eyes, and looked at Zypher, but closed it right after when she saw him.
"Here."
She handed him a paper, and although some people might think what has to be done, Zypher knew it all along.
In his past life, there were many kinds of hidden mechanics to the game, that were only unlocked when people tried many things.
And in this life, he will try it all, as he knows what these can do, and can probably make a way for him.
He was depressed before the update, and now, he wants to play the game, with eagerness, as he saw light at the end of the tunnel.
He took the paper, and wrote down one word.
When the woman saw it, she was shocked, but not surprised.
"Are you sure about this?"
She asked, as she took a pen and a paper and wrote down one symbol.
"Yes, I am sure."
After hearing that, she finished the touches and put the paper on the counter.
"That will be 1 Gold."
A gold coin was then given to her, and Zypher rolled the paper like a scroll. He then put it into his inventory, and walked out of the building with haste.
"Thanks for the patronage."
The woman shouted as she went back to sleep.
