Equipments are a necessity inside every game.
A certain overgeared player once became a god of the game because, well, he is overgeared.
In Project: Zerø, every player has a freedom of choice in choosing their items.
There were sets in every turn of the game. These sets are items with effects if you wear them, but that's just it.
Players in Project: Zerø use the system called Echo Project.
This project lets them wear another piece of equipment, and the Echo, adds all of another piece's information.
For example, the Blazing Sword, which is a fire type of sword, but if it had the Glacier Sword's Echo, it can also behave like the Glacier Sword.
And, it still activates the set effect of the Glacier Set if the player wears some of the other items in the said Set.
This becomes like a cheat skill, because players can wear two sets with one, and elevate their stats higher than everyone, as long as they echo all their equipments to the said set.
But, they can't just Echo it. They had to wear at least one part from the said Set.
For example, the Fire Set and Glacier Set combination.
A player can wear all the Fire Set, but he can't Echo Glacier into all of his equips. But if he wears even the Glacier's Gauntlets, he can Echo it with the Fire set, and all the Fire sets can have the Glacier Echo.
But, still, a cheat used by everyone is not a cheat anymore, but it becomes a feature for every player.
This was Zypher's first choice when he found that he can't level up.
In truth, levels are not the only thing that makes a player strong.
Experience, a high variety of skills, items and many others play a huge factor.
Experience, is what Zypher already has. An experience of his past life. All his movements and how he moves, are all like chiseled marble: close to perfection.
Skills and abilities in the game is good, but then, he needs to grind to even get one.
It will take him time, but time is his friend, so he has no worries.
But, the most essential is the items.
Poof!
A small explosion happened as he tried to hold a knife he bought with the money every starting player gets.
He bought every single weapon, from the smallest, to the biggest, and then, went into the fields, and tried to equip one, but every time he does, it explodes into smithereens.
"Funny joke, haha."
He said as he bashed his head onto a tree.
Frustration colored his face as pain electrecuted him, agony washed over his body.
"Damn."
First, he made the pain receptors to 1.8 APH, yet until now, there has no notice of forced log out. He went through pain three times, and one time, he lost consciousness, yet the log-out notification didn't appear.
Second, he lost against the gamble to Adelaida. This means his backing plan was also down the drain.
And third, the existence of the second rule he got.
[Gray Card Restriction - Ever Doubtful.]
- You don't trust any other items, except your own creations. You cannot equip them, and the moment you do, they will be destroyed. But, your creations cannot have the rarity of Uncommon and below.
It was a blessing of sorts.
He doesn't need to have the extra item to wear just to echo it, and his items are always of Rare rarity.
But the problem is, how can he create the said items.
He took knives, hammers and even brushes to see what he can and cannot do, but all it mustered up to is a pile of broken items.
Frustration washed over him.
Looking back, he probably is the worst character right now.
Zypher went to the sink to wash his face. All he can equip now, is the Newbie Set, which is a set that is worn by every new player.
He is lucky enough that he can still wear this, because if it is also taken away from him, he cannot do anything.
Well, he can do something, but so much different from his past life's.
He then proceeded to wash his hands, and looked at the chains snaking up on his chest.
His frustrations grew deeper, but then, he saw something that perked his mind up.
He hurriedly opened the light to his room and took off his shirt.
Looking unto the mirror, shock colored hai face as saw that the thing that open made him smile.
"This game has not forsaken me yet."
Clenching his fist, he wore the shirt he took off earlier, and proceeded outside the building.
Zypher then went out of the place, and then, he made his way to the nearest place where he can do what he has to do.
"Welcome, how may I help you?"
Zypher walked towards the counter.
There are already players here who started their journey, but he did not paid them any mind and proceeded.
"I am Za--ypher Miracle. I came here to register."
He stuttered as he was about to say his true name.
"Here's the registrations for new pla-"
He did not wait for anything, and directly plated his hand on the crystal ball which the lady is using.
SHIIIING!
A sharp, melodic sound erupted as he put his hand on the ball.
And there, it appeared.
[New Player Registration Completed.]
Quest 1/56 Completed.
Suddenly, a single chain tattoo, which was clear colored broke.
The tattoo, which was on his left hand, started to shine as the pieces of it floated.
The pieces then vanished into thin air, coloring it golden, as a light went down onto him.
[Rewards has been sent to the Inventory.]
The notification prompted, waking Zypher in his dreams.
It was only one out of the 56 links, but Zypher's joy was beyond the roof.
Why?
It was because of one stupid line he chanced upon.
