Even the most brilliant, or even the most powerful men, were once weaklings.
They were just broken things, but rose up against the pressure of experiencing the same pain that they did once.
A pain, inflicted to them, that they don't want a repeat of.
And the hero, in front of him, has such a sad backstory.
Gnashing his teeth, he repeated the line he told Adelaide.
"Your sister is alive."
Four words, one phrase.
This was enough to stop a spear on his heart, but put a scythe in his neck.
The pressure, which he has experienced, was brought down heavier than it was.
His ears rang with static, his vision going blurry, and his insides were being boiled.
"I didn't expect that you will stick to the lie you told me."
Adelaide stood up, and walked up to Zypher while keeping the pressure up.
The loneliness and longingness Zypher saw was gone, instead, it was covered with pure rage and madness.
As his eyes met her, he felt an indescribable sense of defeat.
"What? W-W-What.. do you.. mean?"
Even under pressure, he pushed himself to speak up, letting a few more drops of blood out his mouth.
"I.."
Adelaide stepped forwards and sat on the table.
She put his arm on Zypher, and suddenly, the pressure stopped.
"I wouldn't be happier than I am now if I really do have a sister."
As she said that, she stood up and walked out the door.
"Oh, before I forget."
Adelaide took something out of the air and threw it to the table.
She threw it casually, but what she threw was a sword.
BANG!
The table was split in half.
Looking back, she looked at the man who has lost light in his eyes.
"I also don't want to see your face tomorrow morning."
As she walked out of the door, a lady with platinum hair and dark skin walked with her.
"Liar." She said, which stopped Adelaide in her tracks.
She then sighed, but steeled her resolve.
"I may be hypocrite, but I don't want someone holding my weakness."
She stated as she vanished into the corridors.
Inside the room, Zypher, who lost, did not waddle in defeat.
Instead, what he thought was something else.
If Adelaide doesn't know his sister, then this proves him a few things.
First, the year. If she didn't know, the game is still is in it's early phase, which is the first ten years, where the players only realized the terror of the Calamities. In short, he has more years to work on the game.
Secondly, he found a hole inside Adelaide's defenses. If she really didn't know, then he has a cars he can play against her once she become his enemy in the future: which is a more probable outcome from what happened today.
And third, this means that he can also gain favor from Armon, if he can just look for the long lost sister, and give it to the uncle, and then, happily ever after.
But that's just if what she's saying is true.
Otherwise, he will die before he knows it.
Zypher, looking at the sword that broke the table, smiled.
"I'll start from you."
He said as he took the sword.
Yet what happened next surprised him.
BANG!
A sudden explosion rang out, and all of the people near the room ran towards the room.
What they saw is a man, lodged on the wall outside, opposite of the room he was supposed to be in.
A gaping hole is seen at the said room, and a single hilt can be seen, with broken blades all around the room.
"What happened here?"
The lady with the dark hair from earlier said as she rushed towards the said room.
She then saw the man who was lodged on the wall, his body having multiple wounds and a few broken bones.
She can't help herself but grab his neck.
"What did you do?"
But all they saw was him, who lost his consciousness.
Seeing this, she snapped herself back, and pulled out Zypher from the wall.
He limped down, but he is still breathing and alive.
The girl sighed in relief.
She then carried Zypher on her shoulder.
"Neri, where are you taking him?"
One of the maids asked.
"I'm going to throw him out."
She clicked her tongue and proceeded to jump out the window.
Running across the streets, she ran towards Ruintown's Center, where new players can be seen gathering, but she didn't want to be seen with him, for there are also players who are hostile to Natives.
And what can they infer if a Native suddenly placed an unconscious player in front of them?
That the player is the victim.
Passing through some more streets, she found a small passageway where vendors are, and decided to enter an empty alley.
As the noise faded, she then decided to place him down, yet what she didn't expect is for him to suddenly attack her.
A knee was sent to her, and fast.
Zypher then did a back flip to gain distance.
"Who are you?"
His hands shifted a few times.
He remembered holding a sword, but the sword is not in his hands.
He then changed it to a fist, then like a karate stance, but he realized it won't help, so he just showed her his palm.
Neri, decided to just dust herself.
The attack didn't land, as Zypher's stats are too low for her to be actually threatened by a surprise attack from him.
"An insignificant bug doesn't have to know."
She then stretched her shoulder as the attack hit her arm.
"A warning from me to you."
She looked at Zypher and applied a pressure to him.
Yet, compared to Kruger, Armon and Adelaide, she is a candlestick compared to the moon.
"Don't ever get close to Adelaide. Not once more. Not again."
She said as her killing intent flared up.
Zypher looked at her, amused.
Although he knows this is a threat, it will change in the near future.
"Yeah, sure."
He answered nonchalantly.
Compared to the heart churning pressure by Adelaide, this is like a mild headache to him.
And that's already in 1.8 APH.
Hearing this, Neri stopped putting pressure and sighed. She turned around and walked out.
"Feel free to attack me again, but if you do.."
Neri then vanished, like shadow, when light wss casted onto it.
"...I won't be merciful."
