Chapter 7 - Six Eyes Lv.2

The terrifying, azure vortex materialized once more, hungrily pulling at the fabric of reality itself.

In the exact moment he unleashed Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue, Su Mu instantly felt the qualitative difference. The raw energy within his cells converted into volatile cursed energy at a breakneck pace, rapidly draining his reserves.

What was previously a singularity the size of a pineapple had now expanded to the size of a basketball.

Naturally, with this exponential leap in destructive power came a vastly higher energy consumption. But despite the heavy toll, the devastating output of a Level 2 Blue did not disappoint him in the slightest.

The localized black hole shot toward the Lizard at more than double its previous velocity.

The beast's primal instincts screamed of absolute, impending annihilation. But the distance was too short, and the azure singularity was impossibly fast. There was absolutely no room to dodge!

Watching from the rubble, Gwen witnessed a scene of pure, cosmic horror.

The Lizard's massive body warped violently. As the singularity closed in, the beast's muscles, fascia, and very flesh were brutally dragged toward his own center of mass. Then, the terrifying azure black hole erupted straight through his chest, relentlessly devouring his mass from the inside out until absolutely nothing remained!

Yet, even after entirely erasing the towering monster from existence, the diabolical singularity didn't stop. It continued its ravenous feast, violently sucking in everything in its path.

The air, the shattered concrete, the twisted steel rebars, the streetlights...

To her absolute horror, the rapidly expanding blue singularity was now barreling straight toward her.

Severely injured and paralyzed by shock, Gwen had no strength left to evade. She could only watch helplessly as the absolute threshold of death approached.

When facing the Lizard, she had felt a burning unwillingness to die. But staring into this terrifying azure abyss? It completely stripped away her very ability to think.

It was an unstoppable, transcendental force of nature that devoured everything, including her own thoughts.

Gwen's mind went completely blank...

However, just as the singularity closed within a few meters of her—just as its localized gravity began to tear at her suit—the vortex abruptly collapsed in on itself and vanished without a trace.

Gwen snapped out of her stasis, gasping violently for air.

She had never been so intimately close to the cold embrace of death!

She had never felt so utterly, pathetically helpless!

Is this... is this truly a power that a human being can possess?!

Having canceled the technique, Su Mu stared at the spot where the Lizard had once stood and smiled in deep satisfaction.

The power jump for leveling up Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue was even greater than he had calculated. At this rate, by Level 4 or Level 5, he would easily match the catastrophic output of the original Gojo Satoru.

And when he pushed the skill beyond those limits? He would ascend to a realm far surpassing the original!

With the battle concluded, Su Mu turned his gaze toward the rubble. New York's friendly neighborhood Spider-Woman had finally succumbed to her severe injuries and passed out.

His Six Eyes effortlessly scanned her physiological state. She had multiple bone fractures and slight internal hemorrhaging. However, given her superhuman healing factor, she would fully recover on her own even if left completely untreated.

Still, this was Hell's Kitchen. The massive commotion had undoubtedly attracted unwanted eyes from the underworld.

Su Mu was by no means a saint, but allowing a character he genuinely liked from his past life to die a meaningless death right in front of him wasn't exactly his style.

Chimes rang in his mind as Su Mu utilized the transcendental precision of the Six Eyes to carefully analyze her physiology. He reached out, his hands moving with surgical perfection as he swiftly realigned her dislocated joints and set her fractured bones, ensuring a rapid, flawless recovery.

In the process, a thought crossed his mind. He gently pulled back Spider-Woman's white hood and peeled off her mask.

A breathtakingly exquisite face was revealed in the dim moonlight.

Short blonde hair framing delicate, flawless features. Just as he suspected—Gwen Stacy.

Only, the Gwen in front of him was far more beautiful than any cinematic or comic book depiction he had ever seen.

Suddenly, the girl in his arms stirred. Her eyes fluttered open, initially staring up in dazed confusion at the breathtakingly handsome man holding her. As clarity returned, panic instantly set in. She violently shoved herself out of Su Mu's arms, executing a messy backflip to put several meters of distance between them.

Because her injuries were far from healed, her landing was clumsy. She stumbled and collapsed onto the pavement before frantically scrambling back to her feet.

"You... you... you..."

As Gwen found her footing, her eyes locked onto the white fabric dangling from the man's fingers. She slapped her hands to her bare face in absolute horror.

Her secret identity had been exposed!

Oh my god, what do I do?!

I just became Spider-Woman! How is my identity already blown?! Gwen's mind raced in chaotic, panicked circles.

Su Mu raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised by how quickly she had regained consciousness. The spider-mutagen's regenerative properties were certainly nothing to scoff at.

He casually twirled her mask around his finger.

"I never would have guessed the heroic Spider-Woman was this young," Su Mu teased, an arrogant, playful smirk dancing on his lips. "You're still in high school, aren't you?"

"Why... why... why did you take off my mask?!" she stammered, blushing furiously.

Su Mu tilted his head, his crystalline blue eyes sparkling with mischief as he offered a brilliant, unapologetic smile.

"Is that not allowed? My deepest apologies." He spread his arms in a mockingly open gesture. "If you're upset about it, feel free to come over here and hit me."

Gwen: "..."

Having just witnessed this seemingly frail man literally erase the monstrous Lizard from existence, she knew exactly what kind of unfathomable, god-like power resided within his physical vessel. Hit him? Was he joking?

"Why did you have to kill Dr. Connors?" Gwen suddenly demanded, her voice trembling slightly. "He only turned into a bloodthirsty monster because of a serum mutation! Deep down, he was a good person!"

Su Mu wasn't surprised by the naive accusation. Her inherent kindness was one of the traits that made her such an endearing character.

He liked kind-hearted people. But that certainly didn't mean he was one himself.

His smile faded, replaced by a gaze as cold and deep as an abyssal trench. "He tried to kill me. Therefore, he should have been fully prepared to be killed by me. It is simply the natural order of things."

Gwen opened her mouth to argue, but the words died in her throat.

Logically, she knew he was entirely justified. It was pure self-defense against a lethal threat. Yet, watching a familiar mentor figure die so brutally left her emotionally overwhelmed and utterly lost.

Unable to process the conflicting emotions, she shot a web line toward a nearby rooftop.

"Maybe you aren't wrong," she called out softly. "But... I think I should go."

As she swung upward, Su Mu called out, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Your mask!"

The swinging Spider-Woman froze mid-air. She hesitated for a split second before swinging back down, snatching the mask roughly from his hand, and immediately launching herself into the night sky.

I really, really wanted to punch that smug, handsome face of his, the righteous Spider-Woman thought bitterly as she swung away. But considering the power gap... I guess I'll let it slide!

Watching her figure disappear into the concrete jungle, Su Mu chuckled. Transmigration certainly had its perks. These weren't just fictional heroes confined to a screen anymore; they were living, breathing individuals with their own dynamic emotions and complexities.

Shaking his head, Su Mu turned his attention back to his depleted reserves. He grabbed a thick, severed power cable dangling from the ruined substation, actively channeling the current into his body.
