Chapter 9 - Spatial Attack

Meanwhile, across the city, a stunningly beautiful woman in chic urban attire crossed a bustling street, slipping into a narrow, isolated alleyway before entering a hidden safehouse.

Inside the dimly lit room, a man wearing a peculiar, imposing helmet stood by the window, his profound gaze fixed on the endless stream of traffic below.

"Erik," the woman said, her voice smooth and calculating. "I intercepted some new chatter. Both Stryker and Charles are urgently hunting down a mutant named Su Mu. On record, his ability is merely Level 1 Energy Absorption. However... I suspect he has undergone a secondary mutation. That's the only reason he would suddenly attract this level of attention."

Magneto didn't turn around. He continued to observe the world outside, specifically watching the ordinary, powerless humans scurrying about their mundane lives.

"Energy Absorption...?" he murmured. "Raven, make contact with this Su Mu immediately. You must reach him before they do. Any mutant that draws the combined gaze of both Charles and Stryker is absolutely extraordinary. Bring him into the Brotherhood."

...

Naturally, Su Mu had no idea that his newly awakened abilities had painted a massive target on his back, drawing the desperate attention of multiple global factions.

By this time, he had already left the immediate vicinity of Hell's Kitchen. Using some crisp US dollars generously "donated" by the deceased syndicate thugs, he had purchased a fresh set of clothes and booked a cheap motel room to take a hot shower.

Because he had been constantly absorbing energy and using cursed energy to passively reinforce his physical vessel, his horrific dungeon wounds were healing at a superhuman rate—even without the use of specialized healing techniques. Many of the deep scars were already fading away, revealing flawless, pale skin beneath.

He slipped a pair of round, black sunglasses over his eyes. Stepping out of the motel, he looked completely reborn. Every trace of the battered, blood-soaked prisoner was gone. In his place stood a breathtakingly handsome, 1.9-meter-tall young man exuding an absolute, transcendental aura.

Bidding farewell to the female motel clerk—who watched him leave with a deeply flushed face and longing eyes—Su Mu stepped out onto the streets.

With a government strike team actively hunting him and the looming threat of the Kingpin's wrath, staying in one location for too long was unwise.

While walking, Su Mu summoned his System interface, his eyes locking onto his reserves.

[Energy Points: 3425]

After hours of relentlessly acting as a human battery, his Energy Points had skyrocketed past the three-thousand mark!

Without a moment's hesitation, he dumped every single point into the System. His Template Synchronization rapidly surged upward, finally coming to a halt at 23%.

The heavenly, mechanical chimes rang in his mind:

[System Notification: Template Synchronization Reached: 23%]

[System Notification: New Skill Unlocked — Reverse Cursed Technique]

[Reverse Cursed Technique Lv.1 (1/100): Converts negative cursed energy into positive energy, granting extremely powerful, cellular-level healing and regenerative effects.]

Finally. The Reverse Cursed Technique!

With this awakening, Su Mu's survivability had ascended to an entirely new dimension. He now possessed a regenerative factor even more terrifying than the Lizard's!

Absorbing the esoteric knowledge branded into his mind, Su Mu realized that at Level 1, he could only apply positive energy to heal his own body; he couldn't output it to heal others yet. But as the skill leveled up, that limitation would vanish. At its absolute peak, this technique could regrow entire limbs, bring people back from the brink of death, and restore matter to its original state!

Hmm?

Suddenly, the 360-degree spherical perception of the Six Eyes flared. A massive energy signature was charging toward him at a terrifying velocity.

It was a hulking brute, towering well over two meters tall. The giant was violently bulldozing his way down the street, completely disregarding the civilians in his path. Pedestrians were violently thrown into the air like ragdolls as he barreled through them. Screams and wails of agony erupted in his wake; several people had already been crushed to death on impact.

Further back, at the edge of his 500-meter sensory radius, Su Mu detected the drone swarm and the heavily armed military convoy rapidly closing in.

The brute finally screeched to a halt. His body was a grotesque mountain of coiled muscle. His skin was a deep, necrotic gray, with thick, pulsing veins squirming visibly beneath the surface, constantly pumping raw power into his massive frame.

Bizarrely, strapped to the giant's broad back was a tiny, emaciated, dwarf-like man. The dwarf was incredibly frail—his entire torso was barely as thick as one of the brute's arms.

Su Mu didn't attempt to run. The hyper-calculations of the Six Eyes instantly analyzed the kinetic data: the gray brute's raw travel speed was currently vastly superior to his own. Unless he unlocked the advanced teleportation application of Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue, outrunning this monster in a straight footrace was impossible.

Unfortunately, his Blue wasn't quite high enough level for that yet.

The gray giant stopped about ten meters away from Su Mu. His bare, massive feet dug deeply into the asphalt, violently shattering the road to cancel out his immense momentum.

A hail of high-velocity stone shrapnel exploded toward Su Mu. But before the debris could even touch his clothes, it froze mid-air, suspended in the infinite, uncrossable void of the Limitless.

Observing this phenomenon, the brute cracked his thick neck and nodded.

"White hair, crystalline blue eyes, and this bizarre spatial distortion... You must be Subject 9527, right?"

9527? Su Mu almost laughed. Wasn't that Stephen Chow's famous prisoner number from Flirting Scholar? Why the hell was this gray meathead calling him that?

Ignoring Su Mu's amused expression, the brute issued his ultimatum. "9527. Stand down and come quietly. Colonel Stryker wants to see you. Don't bother struggling. You really don't want me to snap all four of your limbs and drag you back by your hair!"

The giant spoke with absolute, arrogant certainty. He clearly didn't view Su Mu as a threat; to him, this was just a routine hunt, and Su Mu was just another pathetic prey.

Without waiting for an answer, the brute lunged forward, extending a massive, claw-like hand to crush Su Mu's shoulder.

But just centimeters away from the white-haired youth, his hand hit an invisible, indestructible barrier. It couldn't advance a single fraction of a millimeter.

Limitless!

Staring at the bizarre spatial anomaly, the brute's face twisted into a savage sneer. "Looks like you want to do this the hard way. Perfect. I'll teach you the rules before you join the program!"

Su Mu casually lifted his round sunglasses with a pale finger, exposing his mesmerizing, bottomless azure eyes.

With an incredibly disrespectful, lackadaisical posture, he used his pinky to dig into his ear, inspected his completely clean fingernail, and then playfully blew on it right in the giant's face.

Meeting the brute's furious, bloodshot gaze, Su Mu flashed a brilliant, blinding smile. But his eyes were dead and freezing cold.

"Alright. Let's establish some rules," Su Mu said, his voice dripping with diabolical arrogance. "As long as you drop to your knees, cry, and beg for mercy, I'll spare your life. Those are my rules."

Arrogant!

Utterly humiliated by his "prey," the gray giant roared in pure fury. He unleashed a devastating barrage of earth-shattering punches at Su Mu's face.

None of them landed. Every single strike was swallowed by infinity.

Su Mu let his sunglasses drop back onto the bridge of his nose. He took a slow, casual step forward.

Instantly, the brute felt an overwhelming, crushing spatial pressure pressing against his massive frame. The immense, prideful strength he possessed was completely nullified. Like a child being bullied by an adult, the giant was forcibly pushed backward by an invisible wall of force.

At that exact moment, the military convoy arrived. Dozens of soldiers poured out of their armored vehicles, screaming orders as they raised their assault rifles and opened fire.

A torrential storm of bullets rained down on Su Mu. But just like the giant's fists, the lead projectiles froze harmlessly in the air around him.

Walking leisurely through a literal hail of gunfire, Su Mu continued his advance, physically pinning the gray brute against a thick brick wall using the raw spatial pressure of his technique. As he stepped closer, the wall behind the giant began to crack and crumble under the terrifying strain.

"Well?" Su Mu asked softly. "Aren't you going to cry and beg for mercy?"

Staring into the unbothered, god-like face of his target, true terror finally blossomed in the brute's heart. He realized with absolute certainty that this boy was entirely out of his league. He wasn't the hunter here; he was an insect about to be crushed!

Panic overriding his programming, the giant screamed at the top of his lungs:

"Do it now! Attack!"

The exact millisecond the giant shouted, the Six Eyes detected a hyper-condensed, highly abnormal energy fluctuation right in front of him.

Spatial manipulation!

The emaciated dwarf strapped to the brute's back—Experiment 1086—had unleashed his power. An invisible, hyper-compressed blade of pure spatial distortion severed the fabric of reality itself, rocketing straight toward Su Mu.

Because the blade literally cut through the concept of space, it bypassed the dividing infinity of the Limitless.

And its velocity was terrifyingly fast. At this range, dodging was physically impossible.

Squelch!

The horrific sound of tearing flesh and shattering bone echoed over the gunfire. Amidst the gray brute's savage, relieved laughter, the invisible spatial blade ripped completely through Su Mu's torso, nearly bisecting him entirely at the waist!
