Chapter 10 - Collapse

The fall began quietly.

At first, no one noticed.

Inside Amara's company, everything looked normal. Staff moved as usual, screens filled with numbers, meetings scheduled like any other day.

But beneath that calm surface… something was wrong.

Very wrong.

Amara stood in her office, eyes fixed on the report in her hand. Her expression remained composed, but her fingers tightened slightly around the paper.

"Run it again," she said.

Her assistant hesitated. "We already checked twice—"

"Then check again."

Minutes later, the result didn't change.

Losses.

Hidden ones.

Growing.

Amara placed the document on her desk slowly.

"…So it starts," she murmured.

Across the city, panic was just beginning.

The partner company Franko mentioned had started to crack. At first, it was small—delayed payments, minor inconsistencies.

Then it spread.

Accounts froze.

Deals collapsed.

Calls went unanswered.

Inside the investment circles, tension exploded.

"Pull out now!"

"This doesn't make sense!"

"They said it was stable!"

But it was already too late.

The fall wasn't slowing.

It was accelerating.

Back to Franko

Franko stood by the window of his room, phone in hand, watching everything unfold.

His expression didn't change.

It never did.

"I told you," he said quietly.

Not with pride.

Not with excitement.

Just… certainty.

The numbers on his screen dropped rapidly.

Exactly as he remembered.

Exactly as he predicted.

A Call Comes In

His phone rang.

Franko glanced at the screen.

Amara.

He answered.

"Talk," he said calmly.

There was a brief silence on the other end.

Then—

"You were right."

Simple.

Direct.

But heavy.

Franko leaned slightly against the wall.

"I know," he replied.

Another pause.

Longer this time.

"We canceled the deal this morning," Amara said.

"If we hadn't…"

She didn't finish.

She didn't need to.

Franko understood.

They would have been dragged down with it.

A Shift in Power

"You said I'd need you," Amara continued.

Her voice was calmer now, but different.

More serious.

Franko's eyes sharpened slightly.

"And?" he asked.

"I don't like being wrong," she said.

A pause.

"But I like losing even less."

Franko gave a faint smile.

"Good," he said.

Because now…

Things were changing.

The Offer

"Come to the company," Amara said.

"This time, officially."

Franko didn't respond immediately.

He let the silence stretch.

Let the weight of the moment settle.

Then:

"I will."

End of the Beginning

The call ended.

Franko lowered his phone slowly.

Everything had gone exactly as planned.

No mistakes.

No delays.

His eyes drifted toward the city outside.

"This is where it accelerates," he said quietly.

Not just money.

Not just influence.

Control.

Real control.

And this time…

No one would take it from him.
