Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: They Found You

Amina woke up slowly.

For a moment… everything felt calm.

Warm.

Safe.

Her head was resting on something firm.

Comfortable.

She didn't move.

Didn't want to.

Then—

She remembered.

Her eyes opened quickly.

Adam.

She was still leaning on his shoulder.

Their hands… still together.

Her heart skipped.

She moved slightly.

"Sorry…" she whispered.

Adam looked at her.

"You don't have to be."

She smiled faintly.

"You didn't sleep, did you?"

"No."

"Of course…"

Silence.

But it wasn't awkward.

Not anymore.

Then—

A sound.

Amina frowned.

"Did you hear that?"

Adam's expression changed instantly.

Serious.

Alert.

"Yes."

The calm was gone.

Just like that.

He stood up quickly.

"Stay here."

"What? No—"

"Stay."

His tone was different now.

Firm.

Protective.

Amina didn't argue this time.

But her heart started racing again.

Adam moved toward the window.

Slowly.

Carefully.

He looked outside.

And froze.

"They're here."

Amina stood up immediately.

"What?!"

"More than before."

Her stomach dropped.

"How many?"

"Enough."

Before she could say anything—

Lights went out.

Everything.

Dark.

"Adam…?"

"I'm here."

His voice was close.

Too close.

Then—

A loud noise.

BANG!

The door.

Someone was trying to break it.

Amina gasped.

"No…"

"Stay behind me."

She moved closer to him.

Instinctively.

Another hit.

BANG!

The door cracked.

"They're coming in!"

"I know."

His voice calm.

Too calm.

"How are you calm right now?!"

"I'm not."

Third hit—

The door broke.

Men rushed in.

Three.

No.

Four.

All dressed in black.

Same cold eyes.

Same energy.

Danger.

"Don't move!" one of them shouted.

Amina froze.

Adam stepped in front of her.

"You're not taking her."

One of them laughed.

"You're outnumbered."

"I've been before."

Silence.

Tension.

Heavy.

Then—

Everything exploded.

Adam moved first.

Fast.

Precise.

He hit the closest one.

Hard.

Amina stepped back.

Her heart racing.

She watched—

Couldn't even breathe.

Everything was too fast.

Too violent.

Too real.

"RUN!" Adam shouted.

"I'm not leaving you!"

"Amina—GO!"

But she didn't move.

Not this time.

"No!"

One of the men noticed her.

And rushed toward her.

Amina froze.

Her body didn't react.

Fear took over.

"I got her!"

"No—!"

Adam tried to reach—

But someone blocked him.

Amina stepped back—

Hit the wall.

No escape.

"No… stay away from me!"

The man grabbed her arm.

Hard.

She gasped.

"Let go!"

But he didn't.

"You're coming with us."

Her heart dropped.

Then—

Something happened.

A flash.

A memory.

Strong.

Clear.

The same feeling.

The same danger.

Her breathing changed.

Her eyes changed.

"Don't touch me."

Her voice…

was different.

Cold.

Focused.

The man paused.

"What—"

Too late.

Amina moved.

Fast.

Instinctively.

She hit his arm.

Twisted out of his grip.

And pushed him back.

Everyone froze.

Even Adam.

Amina looked at her own hands.

Shocked.

"What… did I just do…?"

The man stood up again.

Angry now.

"You think that will save you?"

He rushed again—

But this time—

Adam was there.

He hit him hard.

Stronger.

More aggressive.

"DON'T TOUCH HER!"

The fight got worse.

More intense.

But this time—

Amina didn't freeze.

She moved.

Helping.

Without thinking.

Like her body remembered…

what her mind forgot.

After seconds—

It was over.

The men were down.

Unconscious.

Silence filled the room.

Heavy breathing.

Broken furniture.

Darkness.

Amina stood there.

Frozen again.

But not from fear this time.

From shock.

"I… I did that…"

Adam looked at her.

Carefully.

"You remember something."

She shook her head.

"No… I didn't remember…"

She looked at her hands again.

"…my body did."

Silence.

Adam understood.

"That's not normal…" she whispered.

"No," he said quietly.

"It's not."

She looked at him.

Fear in her eyes again.

"What did I get myself into…?"

Adam stepped closer.

Serious.

"You didn't get into it…"

Pause.

"They trained you for it."

Her heart stopped.

"What…?"

Silence.

Heavy.

Real.

"You weren't just investigating them, Amina…"

He looked straight into her eyes.

"…you were part of them."
