"I suppose he does" Cerci replied, turning her head to see Kyle's retreating figure. A smile crept upon her face.
She had been frowning due to the fact that she was sitting close to her dad, but after what Kyle had done, she seemed to be in a good mood, so much so that she was humming while eating, oblivious to the tense atmosphere of the room.
Ronald, embarrassment and fury written on his face stood there, unable to utter any words to rebuke what Kyle had said, him and the elders sitted here knew that Kyle's claims were true
Both him and Elijah stood there helpless as all attention turned towards them looking for answers. Zayne dismissed the younger ones to give them room to come up with a solution. Murmurs was heard amogs the children as the left the table.
Olivia headed to where Kyle had stormed of to, she found him at the second floor balcony looking at the garden. "The sight here is beautiful" coming up beside him, "This has always been my favorite place" she remarked.
"I caused quite the trouble, haven't I?" he said with a wistful smile on his face,"The elders must be fuming by now"
"Well, my dad sent us out of there, but except for Sir Elijah and Sir Ronald no one's taking the matter serious, Cerci even looked like she was enjoying herself." casting a solemn at the garden, "I for one don't blame you for how you acted, if I was in your shoes I would have done the same" Kyle gave her a side glance," Thanks"
"If you're done staring, we can go see your room"
"Room?" he said puzzled. He had never thought he would be sleeping her. 'No wonder Cerci said to pack extra clothes'
Coming down from the balcony, Olivia led him to a room at the far end of the corridor he had wanted to use.
The room was spacious, it looked just like Cerci former room, only that it was cleaner. The white bed was covered with a red blanket. The red curtains blocked the light from the windows beside the bed, making the room looked like it had been sprayed blood. There was a black wardrobe by the wall parallel to the bed. A brown curved table was placed in the middle of the room with three sit pads below it, under the windows was a large furry ash cushion that stretched to half the room. In between the cushion and the bed was a small white cupboard. The room was painted white and the marble floor light brown.
Olivia leaving Kyle at the door, sat down on the bed and stretched her legs. "So do you like it or what?"
"I'll manage" shrugging off to go look at scene from the window
"What's your own with looking outside, haven't you seen enough of the garden already"
Trudging to where the door was, she held the handle "If you need anything tell me, I'll be in the room beside the one to your right" gesturing with her finger.
After Olivia had left, Kyle meditated, refining his mana control. He did that for hours before falling asleep from sheer exhaustion in the early hours of the day.
...
Back in the hall, the elders tried to come up with a solution on how to resolve the issue. Cerci seeming unbothered by it, left minutes ago.
"Why are we wasting time on such trivial matter, all of us here aren't innocent for what happened and we all know it, we had the chance to stop Ronald but we didn't and how fate has made us pay for it. Now we're out here discussing ways to punish an innocent boy that defended his mom. Has House Lucas stooped so low? I for one haven't. If you guys are still hellbent on committing injustice against a harmless kid, I'll will not ignore it again " and with that Curtis - Olivia's granddad left the room making the meeting to come to an abrupt end.
....
" Wake up, sleepy head" Olivia said drawing the curtains to let the light come in.
Kyle woke up, shielding his eyes from the light, " Why would you barge into someone's room at this hour, don't you know it's too early for that?" he complained, taking the curtain from her hand to close the windows.
"What do you mean, now is way past dawn, l was worried about you when you didn't come for breakfast so I brought it for you" pointing at the food on the table "and here I was thinking thinking you would thank me" trying to look sad.
Kyle stretched his hands to take a biscuit, but got a spank on the hand instead.
"What was that about" he whimpered, reeling his hand back from the food
"Go shower first, you stink" she snapped, her hand indicating to the door. Kyle stood up mumbling something to himself as he head towards the door.
Some time later, Olivia walked into the room, having stepped out to give Kyle some privacy. Kyle had change from his black blazers to a more casual clothes, white turnic with black leather trousers. He stood, drying his hair with a towel, facing a mirror that was inside one of the wardrobe doors when Olivia entered, sitting on one of the sitpad and munching a biscuit .
"You're not gonna pack it" referring to his hair, with another biscuit in her mouth.
"I usually don't, and who told you to eat my biscuit.
" It's your fault for making a girl wait" shoving another one in her mouth. "Let me help you tie it"
A Few Minutes Later
"All done now". Kyle raised his head looking at his reflection. His hair was gathered to the make revealing his forehead and ear tips that had been covered.
He shifts his gaze to the reflection of an empty plate on a table.
Staring at Olivia eating the last biscuit, he said "What happened to all the biscuits?"
"I thought you didn't want them" avoiding Kyle's gaze.
"Who said I didn't want them?"
"If you're that hungry we can grab some before heading out" sympathizing with Kyle.
"Heading out to where"
"Mom said I should go buy some stuffs for the party so I wanted you to tag along so l could show you the capital. Grab your cloak and let's head out" tossing Kyle a silver cloak that had been in the wardrobe.
