SPLASH! SPLASH!
Alika poured water on Takeru's face.
Cough! Cough!
Takeru woke up coughing. The water was way too cold. It was not the same as the one back on earth.
"Takeru you okay?" Alika asked.
"Where are we?" He responded as he looked around. They were in a forest with trees smaller than the last ones, and there was a river with pink colored water flowing next to them.
"What happened?" He asked.
"After the dragon exploded, I caught you, but you fell unconscious after, and also we're far away from the dragon kingdom, we're safe now."
'So it wasn't a dream, I really am in another world.' He thought.
"Relax for a while, I made you food, and we'll be leaving soon." Alika said, and she passed him a bowl made out of wood.
Takeru grabbed the bowl and placed it on his lap. He looked inside, and luckily, the food was the same as the one back on earth.
It was barbecued fish, three of them. He took one of the fish and smelled it firstly, then he brought it close to his mouth.
At first he hesitated. He was in another world, so maybe the fish was different, and maybe it would kill him, was what he thought.
He saw the look at Alika's eyes, she looked sad that he was hesitating, and so to please her he took a bite.
The food was scrumptious, it was cooked with love, it tasted nothing like the food he ate back at his home.
He rushed the food, eating it all without concern, and stuffed his mouth.
"Hey slow down," Alika said, "You'll choke."
Takeru ignored her warning and finished the food instantly. He then handed the bowl to her after he had finished.
"Thank you, that was the most delicious food I've ever eaten." He said.
Alika took the bowl and threw it away.
"Now then, let's talk. What are you? Where are you from?" She asked.
'Great, now what am I supposed to say? If I say I'm from another world, then I don't know how she would react. Better keep it a secret.' He thought.
"I'm sorry, but it so happens that those two questions are some of the things that are blank in my head." He answered.
"You're hopeless," She sighed. "I won't force you to tell me if you don't want to tell me it's fine, and if you really forgot, that's also fine."
Takeru looked around. He still could not believe that he was in another world. He couldn't believe that he had met a fairy and a dragon.
Although in almost every movie he saw, the dragons were bad guys, he always thought that maybe they were good.
After almost getting eaten by something he was a huge fan of, he thought it was good to be cautious and learn as much as he could about this new world.
"Hey Alika, part of the things that are blank in my head is how to use magic, so can you teach me?" He asked.
'If I'm right, that means my body was altered when it reached here. That would explain why all my wounds disappeared, and I think that maybe, just maybe I can use magic as well.' Takeru speculated.
"Teach you how to use magic? I thought you had the hang of it." Alika responded.
"What do you mean by that?"
"You really didn't notice?" Alika looked confused, "When you were fighting the dragon, you covered your whole body with magic, and that enhanced your speed."
"What? So you mean to tell me that I was using magic without even knowing it, I was using it unconsciously?" He asked.
"I think, I mean even when you made that jump, you poured all of your magic into your legs, and when you made that fire on the dragon's back, you poured your magic onto it that's why it was so big." Alika explained.
'I guess that explains why I felt like I was faster and more agile than usual, because I actually was.'
"Now then, Takeru, I've been meaning to ask you, but where did you get those clothes, I've never seen anything like them in this world." She pointed at his uniform.
Takeru had been wearing his school uniform the whole time, but he didn't notice at all.
"I don't know, that part is blank also."
"Of course it is," She rolled her eyes.
After they had rested for a while, Alika stood up and reached her hand to Takeru.
"Stand up, we're leaving now." She said, offering him her hand.
"When I woke up, you said we're going somewhere, but I forgot to ask you, didn't you say when we get out of there we're going our separate ways?" Takeru asked.
"You obviously don't have anywhere to go, plus you might accidentally return to the dragon kingdom, plus where we're going is very safe." Alika explained in a worried tone.
"Sorry but just because you saved my life, that doesn't mean I'm gonna trust you and decide to follow you to the end of the world." He pushed Alika's hand away.
'I can't go trusting everyone I see. What if she tries to eat me as well or some other thing.' Takeru thought.
"I completely understand why you can't trust me. You have trust issues. I bet you never had anyone you could trust," She said.
"But you can trust me! So Takeru, please come with me!" She offered her hand to him again.
Takeru looked her in the eyes. There was zero hostility, and those pink eyes were as cute as an innocent puppy.
'I have no reason to refuse her help, I mean, if I run into trouble, then I won't have anybody who'll help me, but if I go with her, that means I could meet a supportive community.' He thought.
He took out his hand and grabbed Alika's, then she pulled him up.
"Hey Takeru, I've been meaning to ask you, but what do you want to do with your life." She asked.
"I… I wanna see the beauty of this world and be happy." He answered and tried to smile but failed. His once radiant smile had truly disappeared.
"What do you want to do?" He asked.
"I have a number of goals, one of which is to get revenge on the dragon that killed my brother." She said.
"My other wishes are to explore this world far and beyond." She finished.
"So that's why you were here when you were, you were attempting a suicide mission weren't you?" He responded.
"Anyway we have a bit of a long way to go. If we want to get there by the next morning, we better hurry." She ignored his questions and started walking.
"Next day morning! You gotta be kidding me. Just how far is this place?"
Alika released a mocking laughter, "Baby, you're a weak baby. You require a lot of sleep, and even after that, you're still crying about the distance."
"Hey, I'm not a baby."
They began their trip to the Kingdom of faries.
