Takeru layed on the floor, his body in pain.
"What… happened?" He asked himself as he opened his eyes.
Everything was blurry, he couldn't see properly, he looked around and saw bars and a small bed next to him.
"Wait.. Am I.. in a jail cell?" He wondered.
"Yes, you are!" A voice outside of the cell said.
"Devil's incarnate you are inside one of the jail cells in the Fairy Kingdom, and don't you dare try to escape because it will be impossible, the bars here are made with a rare metal that stops the use of magic."
"Magic? Fairy Kingdom?" He asked, his mind filled with a fog.
"Wait oh right!!" He said as he quickly woke up and rushed straight to the bars.
He saw a woman standing guard, wearing the same set of clothes as Alika wore.
"Where am I? Where is Alika? How long have I been here?" He asked once the fog had cleared in his mind.
The woman standing in guard freaked out. She had been placed to guard Takeru even though she was afraid of him.
She quickly calmed herself so that she didn't show any signs of fear, and then she responded.
"You are in no position to be asking for answers Devil's incarnate, but if you must know Lady Alika is getting the spell you used to brainwash her removed, but I must say your magic is top tier, even after 8 hours our best spellcasters still haven't found out where the core of the spell is."
"That's because there is no goddamn spell! Now let me go!! I need to talk to Alika!" Takeru demanded.
The girl freaked out and jumped back to the wall. She started breathing heavily and shaking. It seemed like that outburst caught her totally off guard, and it scared her.
Takeru noticed her fear, but he couldn't care less. He wanted answers from Alika, and he no longer cared for anything else.
"I said bring me to Alika goddammit!!!" He lashed out.
"You… you think that I'll… I'll just let you talk to her… there's no way." She denied, her knees trembling.
Takeru grabbed the bar with rage, and he let off a dark, menacing and intimidating look, enough to make even the bravest men tremble in fear.
The girl fell to her knees, sweat fell from her cheeks, and her heavy breathing could be heard from the top of the underground prison.
"Please… you're scaring me." She cracked emotionally.
"This isn't working." Takeru said as he went down and tears fell to the ground.
The girl gasped, looking at the Devil's incarnate crying. She thought that they were crocrodrile [ a crocodile but from this world] tears.
"Hey, I'm sorry for scaring you." He apologized and wiped off the tears from his face, and then he sat down, choosing to face the opposite direction from the bars and the girl.
"So what are you guys gonna do to me?" He asked.
The girl calmed down now that he had stopped lashing at her, but she still thought that it was some sort of trick, so she chose to be quiet.
"So you're just gonna keep quiet, but don't you think that I at least deserve to know what's going to happen to me?" He asked.
The girl kept quiet for a while, until she said.
"Firstly you are accused of being the devil's incarnate. Secondly, you hypnotized Alika, and thirdly, you tried to deceive the whole kingdom. So basically, to put it straight, you're screwed." She bluntly said.
"So I might either get a life sentence here or the death penalty." He asked.
"Yeah." She responded.
Sighhhhhhh! He released it all, all the hope he had left.
'I'm gonna get the death penalty for sure, so I might as well spend my last minutes with at least somebody, it's not like this girl totally doesn't hate me but at least I won't be alone.' He thought.
The girl stood up and began walking away.
"Hey wait." He stopped her in her tracks.
"What'd you want?' She asked.
"I'm sorry for being such a hassle, but can you please stay? Please don't leave me all alone here." He begged.
The girl could not believe her ears, but she thought that it was some sort of trick, and so she denied.
"I don't like keeping you company. Who knows when you might lash out at me or try to control me, too?"
"I'm not gonna do any of those things." He assured.
"How can I believe you? After all, you are just a deceiver."
"Because I'm inside a metal cage that's stopping me from using magic, and also lashing out at you won't help me with anything."
"If you're not planning anything, then please tell me, why do you want me to keep you company?" She asked.
"It's because I don't want to spend my last moments in this world all alone like how I've been, because I truly believe that nobody deserves that." Takeru said as tears fell from his cheeks, and he kept removing them.
The girl felt Takeru's sadness and pitied him.
"Fine I'll stay, but just for a while." She responded and sat down on where she fell on her knees.
Takeru smiled and turned his head to make sure that she was there for real.
The girl had blonde hair, which reached her shoulders. Her eyes had a strange glow. It was a glow of innocence. She was just as beautiful as Alika.
"You know I kept escaping from death because I used a long-term goal as an excuse to keep living, but in truth, I was scared." He said.
"Scared of what?" She asked.
"I.. in was scared of dying, dying all on my own, I was afraid to spend my last moments alone." He said.
"Aren't warriors supposed to spend their last moments being all brave, we'll that's what i was taught anyways." She asked.
"I don't know, to speak the truth, I'm not even a warrior myself."
They both went quiet for a while, not knowing what to say to one another, until Takeru broke the silence.
"Hey, does music exist here." He asked.
"Music, what's that?" The girl asked.
"Wait, seriously, don't you guys sing here?" Takeru curiously asked.
"Oh no, we do sing."
"You know back where I come from, I would listen to music just to make the day pass or to pass through difficult moments, and you know there is this song that I liked a lot."
"Oh yeah… how did it go like." The girl wanting to hear the song asked.
"After so many problems, I forgot the lyrics." He said, totally crushing the girl's spirit. "But I do remember some parts."
"So let's hear it." She requested.
"The song went like… Nobody deserves to die alone! That's all that I remember about it." He said.
The girl stood up, her fear of him had drastically decreased.
She went and set behind him, placing her back on the bars of the cell, looking in the opposite direction as him.
"It sounds like a nice song, I wish to be able to hear the original." She said.
"Right now, I wish I could share it with you as well." He said.
"Then promise me, please promise me that once you serve your sentence here, and you finally remember it, then please take me to listen to it as a way of paying me back for keeping you company." She requested.
"Sorry girl, but i don't think I'll be able to keep that promise because they'll kill me." Takeru cried and sobbed.
"Takeru?"
He turned his head and faced the girl who was looking at him with her hyponotisingly beautiful glowing eyes.
"That's your name right? Mine is Ana" She said. "And I want you to promise that even by a small chance you get proven that you're not the devil's incarnate, then please sing me that song."
She touched his face gently and held out her pinky finger.
"This is what we call a magic promise, when our pinkies come in contact and we both make a promise that means we cannot break it, and if we do then the one who broke it will die, but if one of them dies and promise hasn't been broken that means the contract will be canceled." She suggested.
Takeru took out his pinky finger and swore that he would keep his promise.
They then continued to chat for a long while, and surprisingly they bonded very well, it was nice, until…
"Grab the Devil's incarnate!!!" Loud voices of men spoke as they barged into his and Ana's conversation and barged inside his cell and grabbed him out.
"Devil's incarnate, your execution is about to begin!!" They said as they dragged him out.
