I sat leaning against the headboard of my bed with my legs stretched. The cool feeling of the wood felt good against my aching back. I had placed a plate of toast—with that thing Senne likes, obviously—on the bed, hoping to bait the devil to finally come out.
It was a long wait, and when it came to patience, the devil probably had more of it than me. But I knew—I knew that THIS devil won't be able to hold out for that long.
Around 10 AM, just as I thought I had waited long enough, I saw Senne's hand sneakily reach up from underneath the bed to grab the plate.
Gotcha.
I quickly moved the plate a little more inward, out of her reach. Her hand fruitlessly patted around the mattress to search for the plate, and it slowly withdrew back to where it came from.
Then I saw the familiar shadow creep out from under the bed, rise into the air, and materialized as Senne.
"That's so unfair."
That was the first thing she said.
"I'm sorry, Senne."
