"What happened there… Senne?"
Sitting on the ground, leaning against the brick wall in the quiet part of the hospital, I asked her.
She said nothing, just stood still and looking at the stars, her black flame bathed in the pale moonlight.
It was an extremely long day.
Although I hadn't been hurt, I was a witness—and a very, very close one at that—to what nearly ended up being a deadly accident.
Veronica survived, apparently, but remembering how she looked after that thing landed on her head, and knowing her, I couldn't help but feel immensely sorry for the girl for whom looks mattered a lot. She probably wished that she were dead.
I was taken to the ER although I hadn't been hit or suffered from any injuries, but I did faint after all—and woke up throwing up.
Abigail was also taken to the hospital together. She was visibly in shock, trembling. I'd never seen her like that before.
