Senne was talking nonstop, almost prancing around. One minute she was walking next to me pointing and commenting on every little mundane thing that she found interesting, and the next minute she was crouched on the sidewalk poking a little snail that was unlucky enough to meet a devil on broad daylight.
I wasn't headed anywhere in particular, though, so I indulged all these distractions. It was the first time I was out with Senne, and her enthusiasm and curiosity about everything was actually rather energizing for me too—like how everything that meant nothing to me somehow seemed interesting to her.
"Humans have changed so much," she said, as we neared a shopping mall.
"What were humans like… from your memory?"
"Well, my memories are not that clear. I can't even place everything in a proper order. I just know that humans—and the world—didn't always look this way."
"Like how?"
