The noise was gone but the fear stayed.
I sat on the bed still shaking...
The moment kept replaying in my mind.
The attack. The gunshots.
The door opened suddenly. I looked up. He was there. The boss. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him.
For a moment he just stood there.
Watching me.
"You are safe," he said.
I didn't reply because it didn't feel like safety.
Who were they ? I asked.
He said.. "Enemies."
I let out a small breath, trying to stay calm.
Because this doesn't explain anything.
He walked a little closer.
You shouldn't have come out, he said.
I didn't know what's happening, I replied.
My voice wasn't steady anymore.
Something in his expressions changed.
You could have been hurt, he said softer this time. My breath caught.
But why do you care ? I asked quietly.
Silence filled the room.
For a moment...
He didn't look like the same cold person.
I don't know why but I do.... he said.
My heart skipped. I didn't know what to say or what to feel. Then he spoke again.
You are not here by accident.
My chest tightened.
What does that mean ?
But he stepped back. Like he had already said too much.
"Stay in your room." He said.
And just like that.... he left.
I couldn't stay in that room anymore. His words kept repeating in my mind. I stepped out slowly. The hallway was quiet like nothing had happened.
As I turned the corner I saw Arin. He looked relieved the moment he saw me. He gave me a small smile. And then he took me to a quieter part of the villa.
This is the only place where we can talk, he whispered. Tell me the truth, I said.
He looked at me for a long moment.
Then he finally spoke.
"You were not kidnapped randomly."
My breath caught.
What..? I asked.
Before he could answer. A girl's voice echoed from the hallway. Arin... Arin...
We both turned. A woman stood there.
Beside her... a small girl held her hand.
She is the boss's sister. Arin whispered.
The woman looked straight at me.
Rudra is calling you. The woman said.
I whispered under my breath, confused...
Now who is Rudra ? Arin heard me.
He stepped closer and said quietly.
"Rudra is the boss."
I looked at him, shocked. I don't know why but hearing that name felt heavy.
Like trouble itself had a name.
I have to go, he whispered to me.
"No wait," I said quickly.
But he shook his head and said I will tell you everything later. Then he walked away.
I turned slowly to leave too...
But stopped halfway. Footsteps echoed behind me. I turned.
Rudra's sister was standing there. She looked at me for a second... then said softly.
Come with me.
I hesitated. But something about her tone made me follow her. We walked through the quiet corridor.
"Where are we going...?"
She didn't looked at me. Just said, you will understand soon.
After a few steps she said quietly, Rudra doesn't call people without any reason.
Then we stopped in front of a heavy door. Two guards stood outside without moving.
Rudra's sister stepped aside.
You go in... she said calmly.
My heart immediately started beating faster.
Alone ? I asked quietly.
She said, "yes."
One guard opened the door and I walked inside. The room was dim. Curtains half closed. And there was....
Rudra. The boss.
Arin was also there but after seeing me, Rudra the boss sent him away.
Now he was sitting near the window. Like he had been waiting for me the entire time.
He said quietly. "You came."
I stood near the door.
"Why you keep bringing me here without any reason ? I said quickly.
My voice wasn't as steady as I wanted.
Then he stood up. Slowly walking toward me. Each step made my heartbeat louder.
You think you are ready for the truth ? he asked quietly. I hesitated then nodded.
Then he said something that made my stomach drop.
The truth is.....
" You were never taken by accident. You were brought here because someone sold you into my world."
My heart stopped for a second.
And suddenly nothing felt safe anymore...
