Rudra's sister was still there, looking at me .
Then she stepped closer slightly.
"Hey..." she said softly.
I looked at her.
She gave me a smile and said come with me. Before I could refuse, she gently took my hand. Rudra looked at us for a second, but didn't stop us.
We walked down the hallway together .
The house felt huge and quiet.
She finally stopped near a room and opened the door. She sat down and gestured for me to sit too.
I slowly sat beside her. For a few seconds neither of us spoke.
Then she said softly-
I'm Rudra's sister. I nodded slightly.
She smiled a little then added-
And my name is Disha.
I repeated it in my mind once. Disha..
Then I noticed the little girl nearby, playing quietly. She looked innocent... completely unaware of everything outside.
"That's my daughter," Disha said softly, after noticing my gaze.
My expressions softened slightly.
What's her name ?
Disha smiled and said Myra.
The name felt innocent, pure.
I watched the little girl and for the first time I felt something close to calm.
But that calm didn't last long. I turned back to Disha. Then I asked slowly-
Disha... can I ask you something ?
She nodded. "Of course. "
I hesitated for a second. Then asked-
Rudra... what kind of person is he ?
She said that he doesn't talk too much, he protects people but he doesn't show it.
I stayed quiet after hearing Disha 's word.
I looked at her again.
Then why does he look so cold all the time ?
I asked softly.
Disha gave a small smile.
Because he had to become that way.
I frowned. What do you mean ?
Rudra wasn't always like this, she said.
He changed after our family went through something dangerous.
I stayed silent, listening.
Disha continued-
People around him betrayed him. Trusted ones turned into threats.
So he doesn't trust easily now, she added.
I looked toward the door for a second, thinking about him.
And you ? Do you trust him ? I asked slowly.
Disha didn't hesitate.
"Yes."
That answer surprised me.
He may not show emotions but he never lets harm reach someone under his protection,
She said calmly.
A stronge feeling grew inside me. Confusion and something else I couldn't name.
Just than Myra ran up to us, laughing. Her innocence broke the heavy silence.
But my thoughts were still on Rudra.
Cold... quiet... dangerous...
but protective.
Who exactly are you Rudra?
I thought to myself.
I was still sitting there, lost in my thoughts.
Suddenly Myra stopped in front of me.
Will you play with me? she asked innocently.
For a second I didn't know what to say.
Before I could respond disha said-
You play with her, I will go get her food.
Then she walked out of the room.
Myra held my hand and pulled me slightly.
"Come on" she said happily.
We sat down on the floor. She started showing me her small toys, talking nonstop.
Her innocence felt different.
Myra laughed while playing.
"You are nice," she said.
I smiled slightly.
Then she continued playing again like nothing in this world was wrong.
I just watched her quietly. My heart felt a little lighter. But somewhere deep inside...
I knew this peace was temporary.
Because my life was still standing on a truth I hadn't fully understood yet.
And sooner or later.
It would come back again.
