I couldn't focus after breakfast.
His words...
Don't listen to him.
And the other man's warning.
Trust the wrong person....
Both felt dangerous. I needed answers.
Later that evening I found Arin alone in the hallway. I called him. He turned quickly almost nervous.
"Are you okay?" he asked again.
No and you know why ? He stayed silent.
Tell me the truth, I said. His eyes shifted around. Checking if anyone was watching.
The he grabbed my hand.
"Not here."
He pulled me into a quiet corner. Hidden form sight. Listen carefully he whispered.
You are in danger... more than you think.
I already knew that, I replied.
He shook his head. No you don't understand. My heart started racing again.
Then explain. He hesitated.
"The Boss...."
Before he could finish a shadow moved. We both froze. Eric stepped forward.
When will you both learn ?
They are always watching. He said.
Arin stepped back slightly.
Who ? I asked. He didn't answer directly.
"That man" he said instead.
Suddenly footsteps echoed nearby.
Arin's expression changed instantly.
"Go back to your room" he ordered.
But.....
"No arguments."
Arin looked at me. Then I walked away slowly. I had just reached my room.
Then I heard a loud noise. Like something breaking. Then another one. Voice echoed through the villa. Shouting. Running.
Something was wrong. I stepped back from the door. Then suddenly---
Gunshots. I flinched hard. Fear rushed through me. This wasn't normal. This was an attack. I moved toward the door slowly and opened it just a little.
The hallway was chaos. Men running. Weapons raised.
Then I saw Arin.
Calm, focused.
Like he was ready for this.
Go back, he shouted when he saw me. But I couldn't move. Everything felt unreal.
Then suddenly a hand grabbed my arm.
It was him. That man.
"Wrong place" he said quietly.
"Let me go!"
But his grip tightened. Before I could react.
"Let her go!"
That voice. The Boss.
He stood a few steps away. The man looked at him. Then slowly released me.
"Get inside" the boss ordered.
I nodded immediately. But before closing the door. I looked at him.
And for the first time. I saw it clearly.
Not just anger. Not just control.
Fear.
The door shut.
But outside the chaos continued.
And inside....
one thought wouldn't leave my mind.
That this wasn't random.
Someone wanted me...
