The silver door swung open, and we stepped through.
The moment we crossed the threshold, the void of the Nexus vanished instantly. I expected to feel the sensation of falling or flying like usual, but instead, my feet landed on something soft and resonant. It felt like walking on sound waves.
I opened my eyes and gasped.
We were standing in a world that defied every law of physics I knew. The ground wasn't made of earth or stone; it was translucent and vibrated with gentle colors. Above us, the "sky" wasn't blue or black—it was a swirling mix of violins, trumpets, and flutes made of light, floating like clouds. Everywhere I looked, everything was shaped by sound. Mountains looked like giant soundwaves frozen in time, and rivers flowed with liquid melody that tinkled like bells.
"Whoa..." I breathed out, spinning around to take it all in. "Minna-san... look at this place. It's... it's singing."
The moment I spoke, my voice created ripples in the air, visible waves of golden light that traveled across the landscape.
[ilikecatslol6767]: OMFG EVERYTHING IS GLOWING AND WAVY??? IT LOOKS LIKE A MUSIC VIDEO 😺🎵✨
[womanizer796901]: BRO IS LITERALLY INSIDE A SONG LMAO 🎶🎶 THIS AESTHETIC IS TOP TIER
[sigmafalcon]: NEW REALM JUST DROPPED LETS GOOOO 🌟🌟
"Be careful, Rizu," Aiko said, walking carefully beside me. She tapped the ground with her foot, and ding! A beautiful chime sound echoed, and a flower made of light bloomed where she touched. "In this realm, sound is matter. If you shout too loud, you might create a storm. If you whisper, you might grow flowers."
"That's amazing," I laughed, clapping my hands softly. Clap. Clap. With each sound, sparks of light shot into the air.
Hana jumped off my shoulder, and she was loving it. She started running in circles, meowing happily, and every "meow" left a trail of colorful rainbow energy behind her. She looked like she was painting the air.
"This realm is called Harmonia," I said, reading the information that appeared in my mind, sent by the realm itself. "The World of Eternal Symphony. It says here that the people who live here don't speak with words. They communicate through music and vibrations."
[ilikecatslol6767]: NO WAY??? SO EVERYONE HERE IS A MUSICIAN??? 🎻🎹
[womanizer796901]: RIZU SHOULD SING A SONG!!! SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!! 🗣️🎤
I blushed. "No way! I'm not singing! That's embarrassing!"
But as we walked deeper into the realm, following a path made of piano keys that rose up from the ground, the scenery changed. The beautiful colors started to fade. The vibrant music turned into a low, dissonant hum. The light became dimmer, turning into grey and dull tones.
"Wait," I stopped. "Something's wrong here."
"It feels..." Aiko frowned, drawing her weapon slightly. "Heavy. Like the air is thick with static."
And then we saw it.
In the distance, where the capital city should have been, there was a massive black tower. It was sucking up all the colors and sounds around it, turning beautiful melodies into sharp, painful noises like scratching vinyl.
"That must be the Core," I said. "Or what's left of it. Someone... or something... is draining the life out of this place."
"We have to fix it," Aiko said firmly.
"Let's go."
As we got closer to the city, the enemies appeared.
But they weren't soldiers in armor. They were creatures made of noise. Shadows shaped like monsters, but they sounded like broken speakers, static, and screaming feedback. They were called the Dissonants.
"Get back!" I shouted.
I raised my hand, and using the Primordial Emblem, I pushed out a wave of pure, clean energy. Wahhhh.
It sounded like a deep organ chord. The soundwave hit the monsters, and instead of destroying them, it tuned them. Their chaotic shapes straightened out, turning into beautiful birds and butterflies made of light, flying away peacefully.
[womanizer796901]: HE JUST USED BASS TO DEFEAT THEM LMAO 🎹💥
[ilikecatslol6767]: SO POWERFUL BUT SO ARTISTIC I LOVE THIS 😭😭
We finally reached the center of the city. In the middle of a large plaza stood the Core Crystal. It was supposed to be glowing with rainbow light, playing the main melody of the world. But right now, it was wrapped in chains made of dark, jagged metal.
And standing there, standing on top of the Core, was someone we hadn't expected.
It was a girl.
She looked around my age, with long black hair that floated as if underwater, wearing a dress made of dark sheet music and sharp notes. Her eyes were cold, glowing purple. She was holding a conductor's baton made of shadow.
"Who are you?" I asked, stepping forward. "Why are you hurting this world?"
The girl didn't answer with words. She pointed her baton at me, and suddenly, the air around us turned into a wall of harsh, screaming noise. SCREEEEECH.
It was painful. It felt like needles in my ears. Aiko and I covered our ears, falling to our knees.
[ilikecatslol6767]: NOOOO THE NOISE!!! IT HURTS!!! 🛡️🛡️
[womanizer796901]: USE THE EYE OF THE STORM!!! CREATE SILENCE!!! 🤫🤫
I gritted my teeth and closed my eyes. I reached deep inside myself. I remembered the quiet of the library. I remembered the calm of the garden.
Quiet.
I pushed my power out. I created a sphere of absolute silence around us. The harsh noise hit the barrier and stopped dead. It was like putting headphones on the world.
"Who are you?" I asked again, my voice calm but firm.
The girl finally spoke, but her voice sounded like a distorted synthesizer.
"I... am Coda. And this... is my song now. The old music was weak. It was soft. I am creating something new. Something powerful. Something that will be heard across all realms!"
"You call this power?" I stood up, walking toward her through the silence field. "This isn't music. This is just noise! Music is supposed to make people feel happy! It's supposed to make them feel alive! You're just hurting everyone!"
"Shut up!" She screamed, swinging her baton wildly. "You don't understand! They ignored me! They said my music was wrong! So I changed it! Now everyone has to listen!"
She launched a massive attack. A dragon made of black sound waves came crashing down on me.
I didn't run. I opened my arms.
Wind. Forest. Time. Tide.
I combined all elements, but I shaped them differently. I didn't make a weapon. I made an instrument.
I raised my hands as if I was holding an invisible orchestra, and I conducted.
Dooooon.
A massive, beautiful chord exploded from my body. It was deep, warm, and powerful. It didn't destroy her attack; it absorbed it. It turned the darkness into harmony. The black dragon dissolved into thousands of musical notes that floated gently in the air.
"What?!" Coda stumbled back, her eyes wide in shock. "How... how can you play so beautifully?!"
"Because I play with my heart," I said softly, walking up the steps toward her. "Music isn't about being perfect, Coda. It's about expressing who you are. Even if it's different, even if it's strange... it's still beautiful."
I reached out my hand to her.
"Let me help you tune your heart again. Let's make a new song together. One that everyone can enjoy."
Coda looked at my hand. She looked at the Core, which was starting to glow again underneath her feet. The anger in her eyes faded, replaced by confusion and then tears.
"Really..." she whispered, her voice becoming soft and clear again. "You... you would listen to my song?"
"Of course," I smiled.
She lowered her baton and took my hand.
The moment she touched me, the entire realm lit up.
The grey colors exploded back into vibrant rainbows. The harsh static turned into a beautiful symphony. The chains around the Core broke, and a wave of music washed over everything, healing the land instantly.
Coda's appearance changed too. Her dark dress turned white and gold, and her hair started glowing with soft light. She looked like an angel of music.
"Thank you," she said, her voice now clear and melodic. "I was lost in the noise. You brought back the melody."
She held out a small, glowing crystal shaped like a musical note.
"Take this. The Harmony Gem. With this, you can soothe anger, break curses, and bring peace wherever you go."
I took the gem. It hummed perfectly in my hand.
We spent the rest of the day in Harmonia. Coda gave us a tour, showing us how the flowers sang lullabies and how the rivers rapped (yes, literally). It was the most fun and relaxing adventure we had ever been on.
Eventually, it was time to go. We stood back at the entrance gate, ready to return to the Nexus.
"Will you come back?" Coda asked, looking hopeful.
"Definitely," I nodded. "Next time, I'll bring my guitar. We can jam together."
[ilikecatslol6767]: I LOVE HER SHE IS SO PRETTY AND TALENTED 😭😭🙏
[womanizer796901]: NEW WAIFU JUST DROPPED LMAO BUT FR SHE IS COOL 🎵🔥
[goonercouncil]: RIZU COLLECTING ANOTHER ALLY!!! THE ARMY IS GROWING
I waved goodbye to Coda, and we stepped back through the door, returning to the vast space of the Nexus with its millions of doors.
"That was..." Aiko sighed, smiling. "Incredible. You didn't even fight her. You just... played with her."
"Yeah," I laughed, looking at the Harmony Gem in my hand. "Sometimes the strongest power isn't a sword or a storm. Sometimes it's just a nice song."
I looked at the endless doors floating in the starlight.
"We have so many more to see," I whispered.
"Ready for the next one?" Aiko asked.
"Always."
