Chapter 14 - The Echo Of Tomorrow

The silence that followed the victory at the Fortress of Shadows was heavy, but it was the good kind of heavy—the kind that comes after a violent storm, when the air is washed clean and the world feels brand new.

We spent the next few days securing the area. The remaining Syndicate soldiers, seeing their leader defeated and their massive machines reduced to harmless scrap metal, surrendered without further resistance. There was no more fight left in them. Commander Vane and Kaito were taken into custody by the Collective's enforcement team, finally facing justice for all the damage they had caused to both worlds. As for the Grand Master… he was gone. His ambition, his madness, and his desire to control everything had been burned away by the very power he tried to cage.

But as I stood on the high balcony of the main tower, looking out at the world below, I didn't feel the emptiness or exhaustion I expected. I felt peace. A deep, settling calm that I hadn't felt since this whole adventure began.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

I turned to see Aiko walking out, holding two steaming mugs of coffee. The morning sun was shining brightly, and for the first time, the dark clouds that had hovered over the fortress were completely gone, replaced by a clear blue sky.

"I'm just thinking," I smiled, taking the warm cup from her. "It's really over. We actually did it. No more running. No more fighting. No more looking over our shoulders."

"For now," Aiko agreed, leaning against the railing next to me. Her expression was soft, but serious. "But you have to remember, Rizu. The realms are still there. They are vast, infinite, and full of life. They still need guardians. And you… you are the Arch Guardian now. That title isn't just for show. It means you are the bridge."

"I know," I nodded, touching the spot on my chest where the Primordial Emblem rested. It wasn't glowing brightly anymore; it had settled into a warm, gentle pulse, like a second heartbeat. "I'm not going anywhere. I just… I want to enjoy this moment, you know? Before the next chapter starts."

My phone buzzed in my pocket. Even though I had ended the final stream days ago, the notifications hadn't stopped. Millions of messages were flooding in from all over the world—people celebrating, people crying, people thanking me. The movement we started hadn't stopped just because the war ended. It was only growing stronger, evolving from a simple stream into a global community of guardians and dreamers.

[ilikecatslol6767]: WAIT IS THAT REALLY THE END??? I MISS SEEING HIS FACE EVERY DAY 😭😭😭

[womanizer796901]: DROP THE EPILOGUE OR I WILL SUE FOR EMOTIONAL DAMAGE FR FR 🥺👉👈

[sigmafalcon]: NEW ERA JUST UNLOCKED LETS GOOOO 🌟🌟🌟

I laughed softly, showing Aiko the screen. "They want more. They always want more."

"They will always want more," Aiko grinned, nudging my shoulder. "But maybe… just maybe, we can give them something different this time. Something peaceful. Something that shows them what we were fighting for in the first place."

One week later.

I decided to go live one last time for Volume 1. Not for a battle, not for an invasion, not to stop a world from dying. Just to say goodbye properly, to wrap up the story, and to show everyone what the future looked like.

I set up the camera in the main garden of the Collective headquarters. It was a beautiful day. The grass was lush and green, and the flowers were blooming in colors I had never seen before—some of them were seeds we brought back from Elysia, and they glowed softly even in daylight. Hana was lying in the middle of the lawn, rolling around happily, chasing butterflies that sparkled with tiny bits of light.

"Hello, Minna-san," I said, sitting down cross-legged on the soft grass. I adjusted the camera so it could capture me and the beautiful background. "Thank you for coming back. Thank you for waiting. I know the last stream ended suddenly, and there were a lot of emotions, so I wanted to tell you everything properly."

[ilikecatslol6767]: HELLO MY LOVE I MISSED U SM 🥺🥺🥺 THE GARDEN LOOKS SO PRETTY

[womanizer796901]: THE VIBES ARE ACTUALLY SO CALM NOW I LOVE THIS SM??? NO MORE STRESS???

[goonercouncil]: RIZU LOOKS SO HAPPY I AM SOBBING

"The war is over," I said, looking directly into the lens, my voice calm and steady. "The Void Syndicate is no more. Their fortress is quiet. Their machines are shut down. But that doesn't mean our journey ends here. Because the realms… they are still there. They are still beautiful, still magical, and most importantly… they are safe."

I held up my hand, and the Primordial Emblem glowed softly in response, sending a ripple of golden light through the air.

"I have been thinking a lot about what comes next. Dr. Sato and the team have been working day and night. They are studying the energy signatures, finding ways to stabilize the connections permanently. We aren't just talking about visiting anymore. We are talking about building bridges. Maybe… one day, not just me, but everyone will be able to visit these worlds."

[ilikecatslol6767]: OMFG TOURISM ARC??? INTERDIMENSIONAL VACATION??? CAN WE VISIT??? 😺🌍✈️

[womanizer796901]: BRO IS GONNA OPEN A TRAVEL AGENCY LMAO "RIZU'S REALM TOURS" 🤣🤣

[rizzlerizu]: I WOULD BOOK A TICKET FIRST CLASS NO CAP

I laughed, the sound genuine and light. "Maybe soon! Who knows! But for now, I think I'm going to take a little break. I want to go back to being normal for a bit. I want to cook, I want to spend time with Hana, I want to go to school and do normal things, and I just want to… live. I think I earned that, right?"

[womanizer796901]: U EARNED EVERYTHING KING 👑👑 REST WELL

But as I spoke, I felt a shift in the air. The wind picked up, but it wasn't a normal wind. It was warm, carrying the scent of pine, sea salt, and starlight. The sky above us, which was blue, began to shimmer with colors—hues of violet, silver, and deep ocean blue.

And then, voices echoed. Not from the chat box. Not from my headphones. They were in the air, around us, gentle and kind.

'Do not forget us, young Guardian.'

'You have carried our hopes. You have healed our wounds.'

'You are always welcome in our homes.'

Images began to appear in the sky above me, solidifying like holograms made of pure light.

I saw them.

First, the Sovereigns of Ice from Zeryphilia. They stood tall and majestic, bowing their heads respectfully to me and to the camera.

Then, the Keeper of Storms from Aetheris. She smiled, her hair flowing like clouds, and waved her hand, sending a shower of sparkles down.

Next, the Queen of the Ocean from Luminius, rising from waves of water that floated in mid-air, her beauty breathtaking.

And finally, the Keeper of Time, old and wise, nodding slowly. 'The story continues, but the first chapter is well written.'

They were all there. Showing themselves to the world. Saying thank you.

[ilikecatslol6767]: OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD THEY ARE REAL??? THEY ARE ACTUALLY HERE??? 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏

[womanizer796901]: I AM LITERALLY SOBBING MY EYES OUT THIS IS SO WHOLESOME MY HEART HURTS 💔💔

[sigmafalcon]: WE ARE PART OF THE FAMILY NOW OMG

"They are saying thank you," I whispered, wiping tears from my eyes. "To me… and to all of you. Because you believed. Because you supported us. We did this together."

The visions slowly faded, but the feeling remained. Warmth. Love. Connection.

I took a deep breath and looked back at the camera. The viewer count was climbing higher and higher, over 10 million people watching right now, witnessing the end of an era.

"So, this is it," I said, standing up slowly. Hana jumped onto my lap, then onto my shoulder, purring loudly and rubbing her head against my cheek. "This is the end of the first volume. But really… it's just the beginning of everything."

I spread my arms wide, looking at the sky, at my friends who were watching from a distance, at the camera.

"I am Rizu," I said loudly, my voice full of emotion. "I was just an ordinary college student. I was just a guy who liked streaming cooking videos. I didn't have superpowers. I didn't have weapons. But I had curiosity. I had kindness. And I had all of you."

"I learned that the world is so much bigger than we think. There are wonders out there beyond imagination. There are dangers, yes, but there is also so much beauty. And I promise you… whenever there is a new wonder to see, whenever there is a new story to tell, whenever someone needs help… I will be there. And you will be there with me."

"The realms are safe. Our world is safe. And the future… the future is bright."

I waved my hand one last time, smiling through my tears.

"Thank you for watching. Thank you for believing. See you around, everyone. Keep dreaming. Keep smiling. Because reality is indeed amazing."

"Bye!"

I reached out and gently pressed the button.

STREAM ENDED.
