Chapter 36
NIKOLAJ'S POV
Jaime approached me while Georgia was still trapped in Rheia's mermaid photoshoot. Katsha looked like she was on the verge of collapsing into a fit of laughter, but she held it together with incredible poise—a level of self-control I truly envied. Jaime, however, looked wary, and as he glanced at Georgia, a dark cloud passed over his features.
He dropped onto the seat next to me with a heavy, dramatic sigh.
"What's the matter now?" I asked, turning to face him.
"This is just so incredibly stupid. This whole 'divine' process is driving me up the wall. Everyone is obsessed with tradition, acting like the world will end if I don't follow every archaic rule to the letter. I'm fine with protecting the pack by remaking the sculpture, but a whole month? Isn't that excessive?" He looked at me desperately, hoping I'd take his side.
"A month doing what, exactly?" I asked, crossing my legs.
