Chapter 39
NIKOLAJ'S POV
"Okay, look. I'd love to play it cool and pretend I didn't hear anything or that I'm too young to understand, but I can't. This is like a movie playing out in real time," Rheia said, pausing for dramatic effect. "Damn! Jaime's own wife slept with his uncle!" she shrieked.
I nearly fell out of my chair, lunging forward to clamp my hand over her mouth. "What are you talking about? You've completely lost it, Rheia," I hissed, dropping to one knee to look her in the eye.
"No, I haven't, Nikolaj."
"We were just… rehearsing a script for a work drama! And for heaven's sake, what do you even think 'sleeping together' means? It just means being in the same room, not the same bed," I tried to brainwash her, but she just arched an eyebrow and pulled her phone from her pocket.
"Kids are way smarter than you give them credit for," she replied, dangling the device like a weapon.
