Chapter 36 - Provisional Licenses Exam (wow!)

Just ten minutes before our session was meant to end Vlad King walked in with class 1-B.

While they did their shenanigans, particularly the blonde with the copy quirk, myself and Midnight munched on some salted popcorn.

"Can I have sweet-"

"NO! IT'S A SIN! A SIIN!"

"Not even just this once~" She drawled.

"Don't make me use my ultimate move." My hand gravitated towards my pocket.

"Woah woah woah woah…"

We got back to eating peacefully

—That night—

Myself, Sato and Ojiro were playing All Might: Dawn of Peace when Sato looked out the window.

"Hey is that Midoriya down there?"

Me and Ojiro looked over.

"Seems to be, can't believe he's training so late."

"It tracks with his character doesn't it though…" I turned back to the game at hand.

"Yeah." They both chorused.

—Provisional Hero licensing exam—

A couple of days had passed since that day, and I had trained with creating biological things without having to be asleep.

'That didn't go so well.'

I could create the biological stuff, but it took ages and it seemed I was lacking something.

'Big ass test site.'

I was standing outside the test site, called the National Takoba Arena.

It looked… modern? Very hard to describe and so I looked away out of pity for the author.

I caught the final part of Aizawa's speech.

"Show them your best."

The class cheered plus ultra (I didn't) and some random guy joined in too.

His classmates told him off and then he slammed his head directly into the ground and shouted.

"I AM SO SORRY!!!"

'That's a named character for sure, avoid at all costs…'

I turned to Sato robotically, I think he was mimicking the sounds machines made too.

We looked at each other for 5 seconds in silence.

"So…"

And then a WOMAN flirted with AIZAWA.

I pinched Sato.

"Hey!"

"You're not dreaming I guess."

He didn't laugh, but looked at me in shame.

I exhaled lightly.

'Today is just not my day…'

We went into the main hall, where all the other people who were taking the test had gone.

It was very crowded.

'HA! BEING TALL IS GREAT!'

While I was gloating I tuned in to the important speech.

"…Only the first hundred examinees to meet the requirements will pass."

'Oh wow! I should be paying attention!'

I stopped paying attention and watched the board for the run down.

Basically, each examinee gets three circular targets to place anywhere on their body as long as they are exposed.

Everyone will carry six balls and need to hit the target with those balls to make it light up and once all of the targets are lit you are out.

This means they have been 'defeated' and are out.

One must 'defeat' two people to pass.

As I was pondering the easiest way to pass the exam the walls suddenly fell and revealed the stadium.

It was massive.

There was a fake city with skyscrapers and a big ass mountain.

'Gahh dayum!'

My classmates were talking 'bout some.

"We should try sticking together…"

"Move as a group."

'FUCK NAAAH KEEEEED!'

I could literally be done in under 20 seconds.

The countdown began and as soon as it hit zero I slipped into my domain and placed a scout.

"Heh he hee."

I grinned and crossed my legs.

"Time to get to work."

As soon as the words left my mouth I immediately looked to the shotgun beside me.

I exhaled while contemplating certain things.

'Right! The exam!"

I closed my left eye and had a looksie.

Everyone and I mean EVERYONE was attacking the UA students.

'Couldn't be me…heh heh heeehh.'

I thought back to the shotgun before speeding towards two stragglers.

It was one chunky kid and a tall but slim girl.

I nearly decided to switch targets out of pity.

'Better me than someone else.'

They seemed to be my age and I had never seen them before.

The dude had black messy hair from what I could see, he was facing away from me so that was literally it.

'He almost looks like the stereotypical main character before they get their system…'

I turned my attention, while moving, to the girl with silver, flowing, long hair. I also couldn't see her front.

The chunky one was closer so I moved my scout to him first and positioned it just next to his ribs.

He had stored all of his targets there.

I opened the portal and stuck my hand in it, quickly defeated him before slipping out and attempting to karate chop the girl.

She caught my wrist mid-swing.

"Eh?"

I saw her quickly turning towards me with a ball in her other hand but I fell backwards and slipped away, dismissing the portal just as she was about to fall through it.

I appeared behind her and quickly threw one of my balls, directly hitting one of her targets.

I could tell she tried to avoid it but it was too late.

Following this momentum, when she had tried to save her target it revealed another just along her belly.

I threw another and it directly hit, calling the second hit.

She stood facing me with glassy eyes that were completely grey.

"Sick moves." I looked over her entire body, checking for easy entry points to snag that final target.

"Same for you I guess." She responded before squatting down and almost entirely covering her last target.

I didn't move at all, standing there completely still.

"Did you already find my weakness?" She pondered.

"I mean, I am from UA, but I'm actually just waiting for you to slip up so I can get ya."

"Seems I overestimated you..?"

"Tsk you wouldn't be talking like this is I could use my ultimate move right now."

I tapped the ground with impatience. It wasn't my fault that she had almost entirely covered her final target point, besides she seemed pretty cool that one block was hella tuff.

"And what would that ultimate move be then."

"Well if you were a dude it would be a punch to the balls, unfortunately your a girl and so it would be a pistol."

Her hand slipped in shock and I threw a ball at her final target, very slowly with an over arm throw that had almost no intent behind it.

It gently tapped the target and plopped to the ground with only two pitifully small bounces.

"Did I hear that right?"

"Yeah, I'm not going to attack you physically since you don't have any balls and you seem to be really good at martial arts."

"Thanks, I've had to train since I was little."

"I can tell." I then squatted down next to her and gave her a pat on the back.

"Uh, good luck next year?" I wasn't sure what to say, usually I wouldn't be this interested in other people.

She gave me a lighthearted punch to the shoulder before standing up.

"Haah… nothing like your enemy giving you a pep talk."

She dusted off her trousers.

"Well then, can you point me in the exits direction?"

"Sure, why?" I pointed over towards the exit.

She looked at me in shock.

"Are you blinder than me or something?"

"You're blind?" I replied.

A large exhale lifted the silence as she grabbed her face with both hands, completely covering it.

"That's even more badass, how come you can manage to grab my attack earlier?" I was genuinely curious.

She held out her hand to me and stood there still looking in the direction of the exit.

"You can find out next year, when you watch me pass the test."

5 uncomfortable seconds passed.

"You want me to lead you to the exit or something?"

"Haaah…" She sighed once again.

"I'm asking for your number."

"Oh." I inhaled loudly. "So you don't need me to lead you to the exit?"

In case you couldn't tell, my circuits had been fried.

"That too." Her hand was still waiting.

I took it in mine and led us towards the exit, I made us slip actually.

I gave no warning but it was so smooth that she didn't notice.

I noticed her stop after stepping forward.

"You teleported us?" She scratched her chin.

"Yeah, the gates right here."

"So you going to gimme your number or nah?"

"Yeah, yeah, lemme write it dow-. Wait how do I do this?"

"Just write it down, I'll get my mom to add it later."

I gave her the note and watched her walk away.

"Okay, wait… I'm so confused, what's going on?"

"See ya friendo! We'll figure it out later, or not, I could ghost you!" She waved backwards and continued forward.

I then slipped into a random nearby building and said nothing while taking a seat.

While sitting on the floor I looked at my hands.

'If she's blind… then it wasn't my good looks but my personality that roped her in?!'

I was very confused, but I didn't become really egotistical. I assumed that she had a personal issue in her past that she projected onto me.

'Well whatever, she's cool. Can't play video games though. Probably. Shit, can she play video games?! WHAT ELSE ARE WE MEANT TO DO WHILE HANGING OUT?! WAIT!?! AM I DOING TO GET DRAGGED OUTSIDE?!'

I buried my head in my hands, sitting alone in my little corner.

'Where's Sato when you need him…'

A/N: very bored, made this very late at night after watching a shitty teenage romance with my mom. Can't wait to off-screen all future interactions! Yay! ^-^
