*~Mirabelle's POV~*
I opened my mouth to scream, but he was faster. In a blur of motion, he pinned me against the wall, his large hand muffling my voice. "Shh. I told you, no screaming. You'll alert the neighbors."
I shoved his hand away, my chest heaving. "You... you aren't real! You have powers! You can disappear! What are you?"
"I'm a wolf," he said, his expression dead serious.
"A wolf? Like... an actual wolf?"
He didn't answer with words. Instead, he reached for the buttons of his shirt, pulling the fabric away. On his arm was an intricate, dark tattoo of a dragon that seemed to pulse as if it were breathing. Beside it, on his chest, was the silhouette of a massive black wolf.
I froze. The eyes of the wolf tattoo were the exact same shade of haunting, icy blue as his own. They seemed to stare directly into my soul, watching my fear.
He pulled his shirt back on, his smirk returning. "Now do you believe me?"
