Chapter 33 - Ch33:Hidden Quest: World Seed Evolution

Chapter 33: Hidden Quest — World Seed Evolution

Alicia had been very busy recently.

Too busy, in fact.

Between observing humans, studying beast behavior, forming Spiritual Veins, and trying to make sure her planet did not accidentally collapse into spiritual nonsense, she had been occupied almost nonstop.

Which was impressive.

And deeply inconvenient.

Because while reviewing the state of her planet once more, Alicia suddenly realized something very important.

Something so important, in fact, that she mentally froze for a full three seconds.

Then—

"…Oh no."

Alicia went completely still.

Then slowly turned her awareness toward the vast ocean covering much of her world.

"…The World Seed."

Silence.

"…I forgot the World Seed."

To be fair, she had not forgotten it entirely.

Not really.

It had simply become one of those things she kept meaning to "check later," and then later kept getting delayed by:

primitive humans

suspicious foxes

Spiritual Veins

hidden underground pulses

and the occasional universe-scale threat

So really, Alicia felt this was less "forgetfulness" and more "being aggressively overbooked by existence."

Still—

the truth remained.

The World Seed had been planted beneath the ocean long ago.

And since then?

She had barely checked on it.

That realization made Alicia immediately focus more seriously.

The moment her awareness extended deep into the ocean, she felt it.

A pulse.

Gentle.

Steady.

Ancient-feeling.

Unlike the mysterious hidden pulse beneath the Deep Forest, this one did not feel suspicious or unreadable.

It felt warm.

Natural.

Deeply connected to her world itself.

Alicia instantly became more alert.

"…You've been active this whole time?"

The World Seed rested far beneath the ocean waters, embedded within a spiritually dense zone surrounded by quiet currents and layers of slowly shifting marine life.

And around it—

the ocean itself felt… different.

Not dramatically.

Not in some flashy way.

But unmistakably different.

The water there carried richer Life Energy.

The Soul Power in the region flowed with unusual softness and balance.

Even the primitive marine life nearby seemed denser and healthier than in other parts of the sea.

Alicia stared quietly.

Then narrowed her awareness.

"…Wait."

That was when she realized it.

The World Seed had not been idle.

Not even close.

It had been working this entire time.

Silently.

Patiently.

Slowly nurturing the surrounding ocean environment without demanding attention.

Alicia was genuinely stunned.

"…Okay."

"That is both impressive and mildly insulting."

Because while Alicia had been proudly managing forests, plains, beasts, and humans—

the World Seed had apparently just been beneath the ocean doing important world-building work on its own like some kind of overachieving ancient life artifact.

Rude.

Very rude.

Still, the more she observed it, the more she understood.

The World Seed was not just a treasure.

It was not just a reward.

It was something far more valuable.

It was a planetary foundation object.

A hidden life-nurturing core that quietly supported ecological growth and natural evolution from beneath the world itself.

And the moment Alicia fully grasped that—

the system chimed.

Ding!

A familiar blue screen appeared before her.

[Hidden Quest Triggered]

[World Seed Evolution]

Quest Description:

The World Seed has silently nurtured your world since its implantation.

However, its current form remains incomplete.

To evolve the World Seed, your planet must provide enough stable nourishment and environmental balance.

Requirements:

3 Minor Spiritual Veins established (2/3)

At least 3 stable life regions formed (2/3)

Oceanic Life Density reaches basic threshold (Incomplete)

World Seed nourishment with 200 Life Energy

Reward:

World Seed Level Up

New planetary passive ability unlocked

Ocean development acceleration

???

Alicia read the screen once.

Then twice.

Then a third time.

And after carefully processing the information, her immediate response was:

"…Oh."

Then:

"…OH."

Now this was important.

Very important.

Because unlike many system quests, this one did not feel random.

It did not feel like a side mission.

It felt like a major developmental milestone.

And more importantly—

it explained something Alicia had not fully realized before.

The World Seed was not meant to just "exist."

It was meant to grow with the planet.

That changed everything.

Alicia immediately began analyzing the requirements.

3 Minor Spiritual Veins established

She currently had:

Deep Forest Spiritual Vein

Central River Plains Spiritual Vein

That meant she needed one more.

Likely the Highlands.

That was manageable.

At least 3 stable life regions formed

Currently, she had:

Deep Forest

Central River Plains

Only two.

That meant she needed a third region stable enough to qualify.

Most likely the ocean could become that region—

if she developed it properly.

Oceanic Life Density reaches basic threshold

That one was obvious.

Her ocean had life, yes.

But most of it was still extremely primitive.

It was alive.

Just not yet dense or complex enough to satisfy the World Seed's evolution conditions.

200 Life Energy

That was straightforward.

And honestly?

Far more reasonable than some of the system's previous nonsense.

Alicia slowly looked back toward the ocean depths.

Toward the quietly pulsing World Seed.

And for the first time in a while, she felt something very clear.

Direction.

A real one.

Not just "reacting to problems."

Not just "managing growth."

But a proper objective.

A major one.

Alicia thought quietly for a moment.

Then said:

"…Okay."

"This is actually a really good quest."

That was rare.

So rare, in fact, that Alicia briefly wondered if the system was plotting something.

But no—

for once, this simply felt correct.

The World Seed should evolve.

And if it did—

then the future of her planet might change drastically.

That alone made the quest worth prioritizing.

Still, Alicia did not rush.

Because by now, she had learned something important:

A planet was not built by impatient decisions.

It was built through structure.

Balance.

Timing.

And occasionally glaring at cosmic problems until they became manageable.

So instead of immediately trying to force progress, Alicia began studying the ocean more carefully.

And the deeper she looked—

the more surprised she became.

There was more life there than she had expected.

Still primitive.

Still mostly simple marine organisms and early food-chain structures.

But definitely progressing.

The World Seed's influence had quietly encouraged life growth around its surrounding waters for a very long time.

And now that Alicia was finally paying attention—

she could see it clearly.

Tiny marine ecosystems were beginning to form.

Energy-rich currents existed near deeper zones.

Some areas of the sea floor already held noticeably richer Life Energy and biological activity than others.

Alicia stared at the ocean in silence.

Then thought:

"…Wow."

"I really have been neglecting you."

The ocean, unsurprisingly, did not respond.

Which Alicia appreciated.

Still, she could now tell one thing with certainty:

If her forests were the lungs of life…

and the plains were the beginnings of civilization…

then the ocean was something else entirely.

A hidden cradle.

A silent world beneath the world.

And the World Seed sat at its heart.

That realization alone made Alicia take the matter much more seriously.

Then she thought of something else.

If the World Seed evolved—

would it only strengthen the ocean?

Or would it strengthen the entire planet?

That question lingered in her mind.

Because the system reward had not simply said:

Ocean improvement

It had also said:

New planetary passive ability unlocked

That was huge.

Potentially massive.

And Alicia absolutely did not trust any reward with three question marks attached to it.

That had never once led to anything simple.

Still—

it was enough to make her determined.

She looked once more at the glowing World Seed beneath the sea.

Then slowly smiled.

"…Alright."

"You've been quietly carrying things down here long enough."

"This time, I'll help properly."

The World Seed pulsed softly in response.

Alicia went still.

Then blinked.

"…Did you just react to that?"

The World Seed pulsed again.

Warm.

Gentle.

Almost… pleased.

Alicia was silent for a moment.

Then thought:

"…Okay."

"That is unexpectedly adorable."

Which was not a sentence she had ever expected to think about an ancient planetary seed buried under an ocean.

And yet here she was.

Still—

the moment mattered.

Because now Alicia knew for certain.

The World Seed was not just a reward.

It was part of her world's future.

And if she wanted to become the strongest planet core—

then she could not afford to neglect one of her greatest foundations any longer.

Above her, forests grew.

Plains stabilized.

Beasts adapted.

Humans changed.

And now—

the ocean, too, was beginning to call for its turn.

Alicia focused her awareness across the sea.

A new determination rising within her.

Her next priority had become clear.

She would evolve the World Seed.

And when she did—

her world would enter a completely new stage.
