Ming Ye watched Zi Han walk groggily to her pink bicycle, her eyes half-lidded. Because she had to repeat what she had taught him, she ended up going back to her room by 2 a.m. and woke up by 7 a.m. to prepare for school. She was basically running on 5 hours of sleep, which, when compared to her sleep schedule of 7 hours, was really minimal.
A hint of guilt settled in his chest.
It had been his fault.
He watched quietly as she placed her bag into the basket of the bicycle and adjusted the handlebars.
For a brief moment, he hesitated.
Then—
"…Zi Han."
His voice came out lower than usual, carrying a trace of reluctance he pretended to have.
She paused, one foot already resting against the pedal, and turned her head slightly to look at him.
Ming Ye slipped his hands into his pockets, his posture loose, his expression nonchalant as though what he was about to say held no real importance.
"You can come with me," he said casually. "I'll drop you off."
