Ming Ye leaned casually against the sleek black Maybach, one hand tucked into his pocket, the other loosely holding his phone. He looked far too put-together compared to how he had always previously gone to school. His hair was neat, his shirt crisp, and his expression was composed in that effortlessly lazy way that still managed to draw attention.
When the front door opened, his gaze lifted almost immediately.
Zi Han stepped out, her bag slung over her shoulder. Unlike the previous day, her movements did not carry that faint sluggishness from lack of sleep; she looked quite energetic, in fact. The moment she saw him, she paused, just for a second, surprise flashing across her face before she quickly masked it.
"…Good morning," she murmured, her voice soft, almost cautious.
She turned instinctively, heading toward the spot where she usually parked her bicycle, and then stopped.
