Zi Han stared at Ming Ye.
She stared at the bicycle.
She stared at him again.
Beside her, Yu Wuxian had gone very quiet, still very shocked by the scene before her.
"Is that," Yu Wuxian said, after a moment, "a two-seater bicycle."
"Yes," Zi Han said.
"And is that Ming Ye."
"Yes."
"Leaning on a two-seater bicycle."
"Yu Wuxian."
That was all Zi Han said before she started walking toward him, leaving her friend rooted to the spot, still processing the absurdity of it all.
Ming Ye watched her come, the smile still on his face and his hand back in his pocket, clearly satisfied with his decision.
"Sister," he said when she reached him. "Ready to go home?"
Zi Han looked at the bicycle.
Then at him.
"You bought a new bicycle," she said.
"I did," Ming Ye said.
"This is a two-seater," she said.
"Mm," he said.
Zi Han looked at the bicycle for another moment.
She thought about several things she could say.
She said none of them.
