Zi Han lifted her gaze from the screen slowly.
Her expression was composed, neither defensive nor flustered. If anything, she looked calmer than everyone else in the lab.
"Before I explain anything," she said, "let's be clear about what we actually just saw."
The room was quiet. The security head had his hand resting on the console. The biology teacher was watching her with a slight frown.
"That footage does not show a face," Zi Han said. "It shows someone from behind, in a school uniform, the uniform that every female student in this school wears."
""But… the person in the video had a bag similar—" someone started.
"Similar to mine," Zi Han said. "Yes. I noticed that too." She turned slightly toward Gu Yao and the biology teacher. "If that's sufficient to conclude it's me, then anyone in this school could be implicated in anything as long as they're wearing a standard uniform and a common bag style. That's not evidence. That's coincidence."
